I really enjoyed Miramar, it was a welcome relief from the heat, the wave pool was great, brilliant slides although in the summer holidays the queues were a bit long. One of the slides comes with a slight health and safety warning; take heed. I ignored the rating, and once on the other side of the slide, I could not walk. Beforehand, I was having a wonderful time, but I'm not sure everything would be appropriate in the company of young children.
The place has a fairly large area for children to play (many water slides) and is very children friendly. Sometimes (especially in the weekends) it can get crazy full and lining up for food for 30 minutes is not fun. Since couple of years it also has a special spa area with 3 pools, of which one takes you outside. My favorite part is the sauna. It has 8 saunas and a turkish Hamam as well as a steamroom. The event sauna is Sauna Maximum that has room for about 150 people. The sauna area also is nicely built in a park which very large (this is unique compared to all other saunas I have been to) and the park also has direct access to the lake and two saunas are directly at the lake so you can refresh - also in winter. Next to this there is a small beach area. Some parts of the sauna area is a bit aged but being currently renovated. The personnel is very friendly and when not too full you can really enjoy the place.Since it is children friendly people who want just quiet and peace should not visit it other than during the weekdays.
Visited over half term one afternoon - it was rammed. We only paid c €34 for a family of 4 to visit the pools and slides. It was impossible to find somewhere for the 4 of us to sit .... Not many people sitting on the chairs/loungers but they were all covered by towels ... Frankly I didn't enjoy it at all but the kids thought the slides were great although they both came away with various bumps and bruises - definitely not the same approach to health and safety as in uk water parks!!
This spa is made up of several areas, and you can buy a ticket that takes in just a little, or a lot. I bought the sauna ticket for 18 euros for four hours and headed directly for the saunas. To get there, look for the sign that says FKK area. I left my clothes and valuables in a locker in the textile section, and then walked to the sauna area, where I left my swimsuit in the changing area. I then took my towel and went to several saunas, which range from merely hot to 100 degrees C. There is a sizeable beach next to a lake, and a lot of deck chairs. There is also an FKK swimming pool that is heated to 34 degrees C. I thought it was a great spa and worth the money.
I went to Miramar on a Tuesday afternoon. There were plenty of chairs in the beach area and lots of saunas. After 6pm the entire place became textile free. I feel that Tuesday's during this time Miramar is frequented by mostly homosexual men. The place was probably 80 percent male. Overall the facilites are okay. They could really use a modernization and clean up around the locker rooms.
Miramar has a huge sauna garden with numerous outdoor saunas, a lake for nude swimming, a "Beach" by the edge of the lake and, as there are also trees, it means that guests can relax in the shade if the sunshine is too strong. On a hot Summer day it must be one of the best places to visit.Unfortunately we visited on a a cool wet day and so were not able to benefit from the garden. This meant that we gained a rather different impression of the sauna facilities - generally a little tired and outdated. Perhaps we have been spoilt by some of the large, modern sauna worlds that we have visited.
Well, it's too expensive for what you get! I don't really like it!Okay, they have a few slides, but not that many and they are not that great!
I've been going to the miramar for years now. Perfect mixture of relaxation and fun! Price is ok too considering how big it is, how many pools, saunas and slides they have.
This public swimming pool offers open-air and in-door pools. It is great for children since it has a few dedicated areas and pools for kids and, in addition, it offers a really stunning selection of water slides. Even a few water slides specially for older kids (ages from 12 or 16). However, in total the facilities are all very loud and also not so clean. Perhaps the sauna/spa areas are more quiet.
Great to spend the cold days of Autumn-Winter on the heated pools and have fun on the water slides.Really good to relax and spend a day with the family dreaming of hot summer days by the pool.
I guess depending when you go you'll have a different experience. The place is very popular with families/children and going of school vacation will prove to be crowed and loud. Still, the place is huge with several options on water temp, pools size, salty water, etc. There is even a silent room for when you had enough of the noise (of course, children and some adults have no concept of "silence" and there will be talking). Regardless of the season or weather I don't think you can go wrong with a day at Miramar. Most of it is covered, including the artificial "beach" with the waves. A lot , however, is to open air and because the water is heated it really doesn't matter much how cold is outside.Make sure you do not lose your ticket out. There is no nudism/FKK besides one day in the week (I believe TUesday nights), but the changing rooms are mixed . There is a restaurant and maybe two bars, but a lot people bring snacks instead. There is a spa and a sauna section. You buy your ticket according to how many sections you want to see and for how long you want to stay. If you overstay it you won't be able to leave the premises without paying the extra time. The parking lot is huge.
Great for all the family as the selection of outlets has something for everyone. There are some great deals to be had. There are also some good restaurants to take a lunch break at. I can recommend Bon Appetite Bistro as I've eaten there a few times. Happy shopping.
Just got back fro Miramar. It was amazing! It was my first time at a nude spa. I was not nervous at all. The people did not seem strange...but very normal. There was old, young, men, women and children. No one stared. I was a little confused about where to keep my wallet and cell phone, but soon found it. They have a special safet locker. Then..when do you change or where...The first area is general locker room for swimmer with suites, then there was a private changing room, where you striped down and enter a co-ed shower. Then you go out into a several different pools and saunas. Those were very, however, I really enjoyed the lake area. You walk passed several hundred nude people all ages and shapes and sizes. Now you enter the lake area...The day I went it was a sunny day and kids were playing in the sand and having fun. You quickly forget that everyone is naked. :) It was my favorite place in Germany!
Took the family here twice. The variety of services is the main attraction. The kids like the adventure part and I enjoyed the spa part. There's really a lot to do in Weinheim.
