It's beautiful to see the Münster at night from outside, really impressive. The inside is overwhelming, so visit the Münster even if you have only 5 minutes for it.
The church is definitely the highlight of the city. The church is worth checking out. Parts of it seem to be under renovation.
Having visited more than 100 churches in Europe, I can certainly say that Ulm's Münster is in my top 5. Both its exterior and interior are awe-inspiring. Really beatiful gothic style church, not to say its size is also impressive. Climbing it is a unique experience, do it if the skies are clear, as it is the best activity of the city of Ulm, at least for me.
The Ulm Münster has got the tallest church tower in the world and it's probably the finest example of Gothic church architecture in Germany. If you are interested in history and architecture, go have a look! It's a very impressive building.
In a word, Ulm Munster is stunning!!! Its proportions are incredible, the stained glass magnificent, and ceiling features are beautiful. My husband took the stairs to the top and captured some absolutely amazing photos, and whilst he said it was a difficult climb, it was well worth the effort. Sadly we were unable to get good pictures of the exterior as there was scaffolding all around, but given the age of the building it is reasonable to expect remedial work would be a constant. We were more than compensated by the photogenic interior. Ulm Munster is a "must see"!
The Ulmer Munster is always worth to visit. It is an impressive building. You can visit the inner part for free. For climbing up the tower you have to pay a small fee but it is worth to climb up especially on good weather conditions. First you have a great view over the whole city and the area around. Sometimes you can see the alps. Please have also look to the inner part of the Munster. There is a an impressive wooden choir stall in the sanctuary. Look as well to the small chapel on the right hand side at the far end of the sanctuary you will find there beautiful colored windows. Something which is interesting. The Ulmer Munster was not always a protestant church, in the past it was a catholic church. On the outside you will find special gargoyles not typical ones you will find secular animals like an elephant, an austriche, etc. If you keep your eyes open you will find many other things that you will not find on other churches ...
My family and I went to Ulm as a spur of the moment trip to see the Ulm Munster. It is beautiful! There was repair being done, but as with most old buildings this is to be expected. There was a wedding happening at the same time as tourists walked throughout the back portion of the cathedral. We chose not to climb up the tower. No photography inside.
Church is very spectacular from the outside and the inside! Unfortunately we couldn't climb to the top of the steeple due to building work. By the looks of it, the works will be going on for a while but I cannot confirm that.
This is a very stark, gothic church which is very impressive in its size and height. It's almost impossible to take a photo and include the tip and the base of the church. The inside of the church has beautiful stain glass windows, and although plain, is very pretty.
Climbing to the top means you get to see a fantastic piece of architecture and have a workout in one!
A must see if in Ulm, but then again if you're in Ulm, you'll see it regardless because it is huge. You can also climb to the top! Unfortunately we picked a poor day to do it as the top half could not be accessed due to ice.
I didn't get a chance to climb it, but I heard it's the highest in the world. It's great during winter especially when people come for the christmas market in front of it.
