More you see this real beauty from different angles, more you like it. I did it walking around, sitting with my cup of espresso, taking pictures from the tower, under the rain and under the sun - it always was a great feeling of history and tranquility. Thanks Vigevano!

but Piazza Ducale is a beautiful pearl designed by Bramante. I have entered the piazza from the castle upstairs and been surprised by amazing view. The Duomo - pls stand in the middle of the piazza in the opposite side of the Duomo - at the first glance the front of the church is symmetrical but it isn't. Can you see it? There is Strada Coperta nearby- very unique two-levels street whort to see where are original points you can hitch your horse :).

I had a wonderful evening sitting on the square watching the locals and drinking cocktails. It's a beautiful piazza, and architecturally very interesting.

this is really a gem no tourists medieval square . some say on of the best examples in italy . connects to a lovely old city of winding lanes

Lovely little city to visit. Everything is within walking distance of a great Locanda (see my review of Locanda San Bernardo). You can spend 2 or 3 days in this restful place and stroll the square and the streets radiating from the Square. Few tourists. Lovely place to relax.

This town is really beautiful and it's worth it a visit. The piazza is amazing and very beautiful. When I visited this town there was a fair very much interesting about backery and bread making. It was really good to speack a bit with the people there and hear about their passion. The tower close to the square is also nice, but i really recommend to sit down in any of the terraces there and just enjoy the view and atmosphere.

This lovely graceful piazza is surrounded by arches sheltering elegant shops and cafes & restaurants. At one end is the Duomo and stairs lead up to the Castle. All worth a visit. Stop and read the information plaques. Eat at Il Re di Napoli. Explore the streets leading from the Piazza Ducale for more shops and local cafes. Find Café Dante on via Dante for delicious coffee and fresh pastries.

I have been to Italy over 30 times and only found out about this piazza because a friend could not join me for dinner in Pavia and suggested I spend the afternoon in Vigevano because of the square and ducal palace. It was perfect for an afternoon at a site that is not in most tourist books. Too bad, because the piazza, with the sgraffiti is great, the church very attractive and the duca palace very interesting. You don't need long to visit. Sit and have lunch or an ice cream and enjoy the passers-by. Overall a very nice, lesser known venue.

It's a charming place to visit. Three sides are porticoes with frescoes on the front, recently restored. On a side lay the imposing Castle Tower, built by Bramante. An absolute jewel. Don' t miss it!

Leave aside the Duomo's facade (God only knows who actually manage to slap this thing in front of the brick-built original building), the vast Piazza is surrounded by beautiful, well kept buildings. You can walk all the way round under shelter, little side streets leading off here and there. Every first Sunday of the month you'll find a genuine food market with all of Italy's regional specialities.

The Piazza is beautiful. Calm, peaceful, lovely to sit with a coffee and just watch the world calmly go by.

Is a Fantastic Square with a beautiful Middle age Castle It seam to be back to the past. You have to visit the Tower and the you have to go inside the castle. Very nice is the cover Bridge

Go a bit off the beaten path to lovely Vigevano! This is a prosperous town just West of Milano. There is also a Castello that served as the summer home for the Sforza family. If you travel by train from Milano to Vigevano you will be traveling through the famous Po valley. Note the rice fields.
