帕多瓦植物园

作为拥有世界文化遗产最多的国家, 竟然一个植物园也能入选,这极大地激起了我的兴趣! 果然, 不虚此行!正值夏季, 鲜花全部开放, 品种繁多, 而且每一个都有自己的名字, 隐藏在一个都市之中, 难得有这样的美景, 这样的清凉, 实在应该给各位推荐一下, 而且就在市中心, 对于各位到帕多瓦游玩的朋友, 这个千万不要错过, 里面还有食人草! 要小心哦! 嘻嘻, 哦,对了,还有 1500 多年历史的来自中国的银杏!　不知道当时是否是作为国礼而远嫁过来的?!

比邻小城维罗纳作为罗密欧和朱丽叶的故乡 帕多瓦承载了太多世界各地情侣们对于此地的向往 再加上与水城威尼斯仅半小时的火车距离 此地绝对是各旅游的好地方 前往朱丽叶故居许个愿 与她的雕像合个影 摸一下传说中可以让爱情永久的右胸..爬上古城钟楼 望不尽的红房顶让心情愉悦..

a really informative tour of the history of plants and their role in the development of man. My only gripe would be that there were not enough places to sit in the exhibition and that the staff on the front desk were not at all helpful or enthusiastic about their work.

Our trip was in winter so there was not very much to see in the gardens, although the trees were wonderful. The green houses were amazing! State of the art technology allows a rainforest and various other climatic zones to flourish in the centre of Padova. The green houses are enormous and include a museum and various interactive boards, great for kids. There is also a cafe in the gardens.

Finally also in Padova there are some projects that are able to exquisitely conjugate the old with the modern. A place that must be seen when you are in Padova.

Lovely, informative place! It's a great place to relax from the noises of the city. We visited only the garden, because the greenhouses were closed for visitors, but, nevertheless, we loved it!

Because of the rain, and the time of year, the actual garden area looked rather forlorn and muddy. We saw some plants, but few were doing much. The design is beautiful, and we shall ceratinly visit again another time of year.The glass houses, almost hidden around the corner made the trip very successful. There were two other visitors there at the same time. The glasshouses are vast, so it was simply ideal. There are wonderfully maintained plants, interesting information, and for the first time in ages , brilliant translation into English. Congratulations to whoever designed and set it up. We loved it. Best possibly was the Travellers Palm in flower!

What a change in a year! The new visitor centre & information in the greenhouses are fantastic additions. Beautiful wood info boards & very good use of tech, without overdoing it. Not cheap at 10 euros each & too much to take in on one visit. We will go back. The huge & ancient ginkgo is beautiful.

Our first thoughts were that it would be a waste of time and money visiting the botanical gardens in December. That is not true at all! The outdoor historical garden is rather void of plants and flowers, but even just strolling through this part of the gardens can inspire your imagination what it would look like in spring or summer, not to mention the historical design of the garden itself, having squares within a circle with many paths through the garden.The Biodiversity Garden which is reached through the historical garden is outstanding. It is divided into various climatic zones with the plants respective to the zone growing in each. The plants are not crowded into a disorganized jungle, but arranged in such a way that one can see a good example of the species growing in each of the climatic zones. And one can not only admire the plants from the ground, but an elevated walkway also gives a view from above.What makes the Biodiversity Garden really outstanding is the additional information and several historic artifacts that are displayed showing how through history flora has been utilized as food, tools, instruments, medicine and drugs, etc. It is not just the information itself, but the creativity of how the information is brought to the visitor which makes the visit worthwhile and interesting.

The oldest Botanical Garden in Europe with newest new technological wing ... don't miss it !!! From Caribbean plants to desert, from Amazzonia to Mediterranean ...

The formal gardens outside the greenhouses were beautiful but the greenhouses themselves were the most impressive and interesting. They are devided into different climatic areas and demonstrate our dependance on plants as well as the effects they have on our lifestyles. The emphasis on our effect on the flora of the planet is also well presented. This is an edducational visit worthwhile for all ages.

I was surprised when we walked there. Gothes palm was extremely old 400 years. I liked the modern greenhouse with so many different climate zone and rare species from all over the world.

We visited only a couple of days after the opening of the new bio-diversity glasshouses.The glass structures themselves are extremely beautiful, and have viewing galleries so you can look down onto the water lily pond, and different climatic areas. Waterfalls form part of the exterior of the glasshouse structure.The information on plants,their habitats, and various uses is presented on wooden boards,in keeping with the eco theme. There are also related artefacts, such as basketry,wooden boats, masks,fibres,dyes.There is very accessible information on the links between humans, plants, and animal life, and on botanists like Darwin, Linneaus, etc.Add to this, the ancient medicinal herb garden, old glasshouses, labelled outdoor plants and trees, and wooded walks, with a relaxed and pleasant ambience.It had no hint of touristy tat or moneymaking ripoffs.To top it off, a cafe that has sachets of honey to sweeten your tea. What more could you ask for?My friend and I both said "eat your heart out Eden project"

We almost missed the modern section of the garden; it isnt on the maps you get at the ticket window. Walk al the way around the central garden and take the path to the right near the fountain; you will find an enormous modern greenhouse with four different climate zones inside. Best of all were the interactive displays detailing the history of domesticating plants for food. My 8-year old loved this respite from visiting "old churches" as he said!

You have to be really into gardening to want to go to this garden but it is free with the Padova card. It is one of the largest botanic gardens in the world. In August there was hardly a flower in sight and you need to be a garden lover to appreciate it.
