Visit the Uffizi and don't miss to enjoy a cup of Capuccino on top of the Loggia. Entrance from the Uffici, second floor. Lovely place to sit and watch the sparrows waiting for crumbs. The tower of Palazzo Vecchio right next to you. It's one of those things you have to do in Florence.

This open air gallery is a great place to stop and relax. My wife and I watched as a newly wed bride and groom had their pictures taken and another lady sat and sketched. What a city.

It consists of wide arches open to the street; built between 1376 and 1382. The architectural settings and the statues are absolutely amazing.

You turn a corner and it's just there. Stunning sculpture that is so accessible and free for all to enjoy.

Definitely give yourself a half hour to look at these beautiful sculptures, some of which have been standing in the Loggia for almost 500 years.

The statues in this vaulted-ceiling, shaded area are some of the finest in the city. All of them are remarkable in their own ways, and each of them can take up as much of your time as you want it to. In summer, it's a shady respite, and in winter it's a break from the wind to be under cover. In either case, you can stare out across to Palazzo Vecchio and the Piazza and just soak in the atmosphere. It's a really wonderful place to sit.

After seeing tremendous sculptures in many museums - the ones that are here are just OK. Given that it is free though - no complaints about free street art. It takes about 5 minutes to view as you are walking by.

I love this section of the city. Some of the pieces are replicas but there's a few nestled in there that are original masterpieces. If you have time it's worth it to track down all the replicas of Michelangelo's David statues thought the city. It makes Florence truly a spectacular city.

This is a 14th century open air gallery with beautiful arches. It is right at Piazza della Signoria . You wouldn’t miss it. It’s not just a historical building also it’s the home of lots of collections of impressive sculptures like Perseus after he beheaded Medusa, the Sabine Virgins marble sculpture and many more. The Lion Statue guards the entrance. It's a good place to admire all the stunning sculptures and take a break.Happy Travelling!

This is just next to Uffizi Gallery and facing the famous square of Piazza Della Signoria. It is open air and FOC to public and it was a real shame for me as i first thought it was just normal decorations part of the Uffizi Gallery. I was wrong obviously. I must say this is an excellent showcase of masterpiece from great sculptors to the public and a good example that public can still enjoy a good piece of art free of charge when they come here. I really wish that the countries in Asia particularly can learn from this and stop charging exorbitant entrance fees to the museum. Anyway I enjoyed the short tour of this open-air little gallery very much especially the sculpture of "The rape of the Sabine Woman" which I think is really amazing and flawless. The best part is the copy version of "David" by Michelangelo is just a few steps away in the Piazza Della Signoria. The tourists and the people of Florence can really enjoy the two greatest masterpiece sculptures by the two greatest sculptors at one go, at no cost.

it is an open air gallery adjacent to the palazzo vechchio in the piazza signoria.it is covered n the gallery has numerous sculptures from the roman n renaissance period .the statue of perseus with the head of medusa at the entrance, the medici lions at the entry too,the bronze statue of cosimo 1,the rape of the sabine women, are few of the statues in the logia.if ure an art lover or know abt this era of history u may take hrs to browse the place.better to have read thru a bit abt the same from some guide to understand better.since its a shaded area, many people sit here for hrs just to catch up,grab a gelato n eat n watch people around or look at statues n read abt the history .

There aren't many weird places in Florence. But this was one. There are a variety of statues in different poses and made of different materials dotted around the main square, most of them concentrated underneath some arches (similar to the nearby Market Place). They give many great photo opportunities, and are high enough up that many people can take photos without obscuring another's view (always important in these crowded areas). Away from this were some more statues, mostly in bronze. Free, as to be expected from an outdoor attraction, and worth a visit due to its central location and variety.
