I lived in Livorno for three months in 2013. One of my favorite spots was the terrazza. On a warm Saturday morning, it was so wonderful to see the families outside with their kids roller skating or biking. My time spent there was mostly sitting and reading while absorbing the sun! There is free wifi.It connects to a trail that leads way down the coast to the south. The view of the sea is absolutely incredible. There is also a small area to one side where I believe you can swim if the water is nice!
we visited tuscany last year in february and to our luck during carnival. since we stayed in pisa we experienced it there and also here in livorno during our short trip.i can imagine that this place is kinda "okay" when nothing special is going on - it is a huge terrace with checkered pattern tiles right at the sea.but during carnival it sure is fun there, since it gives you the the feeling of a "small" venice
Great view of the ocean, excellent place to drink your morning coffee and have pastry. AWESOME sunset/sunrise views as well!
We walked there from our cruise ship and enjoyed the view of the sea. As part of our afternoon in Livorno, weEnjoyed the nice view from the balcony. We had stopped in Livorno and enjoyed a slice of good pizza and shopping at the local market, available on Tuesdays behind the Cathedral. Every kind of fresh produce, seafood and cheese are available from the Italian farmers! Wonderful find!
We were introduced to this lovely nights walk by a family member living in Livorno. The weather was lush and the breeze was slightly warm. With a fantastic view of the sea and all of the ships you could stand there for hours watching the scenic views. The walkway seemed well maintained and it is clear that skating was popular due to the smooth surface. We grabbed a cold beer from a local place and gazed out into the ocean, pondering over life's many questions (as one does).Nice walk!
Wonderful sea view to enjoy situated in front of NH Grand hotel Palazzo. On the promenade of Livorno. You really can "feel" and be in touch with sea when waves breaking their way to Terrazza Mascagni. You really can get wet, so be aware if its windy!!
After returning from our morning trip to Pisa we decided to walk along the seafront of Livorno. At a very relaxed pace about an hour of strolling, with a few stops for photos, brought us to the Terrazza. There had obviously been a recent event as some staging still remained to be dismantled, but apart from a few others we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was a nice break from the cruise ship routine. We stopped a while to admire the view, and took a number of photos and I can imagine the views at sunset are superb.
We expected more from this.It was definitely lacking colour of any kind and had a somewhat bare and neglected look about it as it doesn't appear to be weeded or cared for often enough. It was nothing special at all when we visited during the day. The luxury hotel behind was much better looking.
the terrazza mascagni was lovely to walk along as the sun was setting but a few flower pots would add a nice touch of colour
beutiful but not sufficiently well kept, the Palazzo hotel in frot of ita has beutiful views of the terrace and the Tyrrenian sea.
A enormous balcony on the sea. Excellent for photo and for video. If you love the smell and taste of the sea it is the place for you.
If you are there you have to go to watch the sunset and to take a walk. Is near the see and really clean and relaxing.
The "Terrazza Mascagni" in winter assumes a completely different look than in the bathing season. Almost empty of people, very wide, its pavement with large black and white tiles, the sea in the background, the red of sunset if the weather and time allow it, all brings to mind the "metaphysical painting" by Giorgio De Chirico. If then you want to abandon the aesthetic emotion in favor of a rational historical reconstruction, the inputs for this also aren't lacking. Immediately on the south of "Terrazza" the bathing establishments "Pancaldi" arise, reminiscent of the early days of bathing industry in Livorno (second half of the nineteenth century) and of the role of high standard resort that the city had; as it does the "Grand Hotel Palazzo" beyond the boulevard, majestic quite as a royal palace. Overall, it's important to come here in the winter to reconstruct the atmosphere of Livorno about a century ago or more.
I love Terrazza Mascagni, I think it is a unique place, both in summer and winter, day and night, good weather and bad weather. If you happen to be in Livorno, don't miss it.
