Well tucked away, this medieval church is a masterpiece that should not be overlooked. The entrance is free and the church is beautiful and ancient. A must see in the area.

The Basilica was beautiful and full of history. The building itself has a most beautiful decoration of ceramic dishes.worth the visit inside after standing in a long queue.

It took for a while to get in, but it was worth of the wait. The church has so much history to it and beautiful. You must cover your knees/shoulders (women), respectfully.

We were group of friends, who went 10 days road trip through all Italy. This was one of our destination to see.... For first time visit is ok, but visit again and again.... no way.... Attraction too typical...

It is said that on this Basilica, Saint Peter performed his first mass. This beautiful basilica has the remains of the first church and altar. The building itself has gorgeous decorations such as ceramic dishes with different motifs. It is a perfect stop if you are heading to Marina di Pisa. San Piero a Gardo is the real thing, a romanic basilica without all the baroque, the gold and the tourists. It's some kilometers south-west of the center, in a lovely setting. You enter the church and you get the typical smell of an old building, not like in Duomo. The complete church is nothing else than a holiday for the other tourist-attraction churches.

La Basilica si trova nel parco di san rossore in località san piero a grado, dal latino gradus, cioè scalo, perchè fa riferimento allo scalo di san pietro prima di arrivare a roma.La basilica fu colpita dai bombardamenti dell'ultima guerra, che hanno distrutto il campanile, mai ricostruito interamente.Questo monumento è immerso nel verde del parco, a metà tra la città di pisa ed il litorale

Merita veramente una sosta questa grande basilica romana alle porte di Pisa, con affreschi discretamente conservati, all'interno un ambiente mistico belle colonne con relativi capitelli.

Kościół jest przepiękny i bardzo cichy. Czuć, że wiele osób w nim się modliło. Byłem w nim kilka razy i zawsze czuję się w nim jak u siebie.

Basilica romana a 3 navate con affreschi riguardanti passi della Bibbia e immagini di Papi fino all'XI secolo. Sono visibili sul fondo della chiesa scavi con reperti archeologici di epoca romana e qui si narra che sia sbarcato San Pietro. Peccato che il campanile adiacente, distrutto in tempo di guerra, sia stato ricostruito solo parzialmente.

Adoro questa basilica, penso sia una delle più belle di Pisa.Hermosa, aconsejo una visita, es muy sugestiva.
