Basilica di Santa Maria is a beautiful church adorned with stunning architecture and a magnificent interior. The lava stone facade adds to the beauty of this building. Worth visiting

Gorgeous facade, most of it is made with lava rock as are the roads nearby. The church was built between the 13th and 17th century, while the bell-tower dates back to the 19th century.The interior decorations are also beautiful including the altar as well as the mosaic windows. If you're in Randazzo it's worth a visit.

Well as the title says not my normal holiday experience.Looks nothing from the outside, actually reminded me of the exterior of Leicester goal.Inside the artwork is truly stunning, and you can lite a candle rather than a bulb.I am so pleased I visited.

We attended a wedding in this church and it was great. However, there was too much echo from the speakers that we hardly understood what the priest was saying.

Situated in the Latin quarters of Randazzo, the Basilica di Santa Maria is constructed of lava stone in Norman-Swabian architecture. The Church is adorned with a beautiful set of melodic bells. Well worth a visit. At the side of the Church there is a belvedere.

This beautiful church in the nice town of Randazzo is well worth the visit (amongst the other churches there) As with a lot of the southern churches very pretty, lots of intricate details and not over the top grand size). We wandered through the churches in Randazzo and enjoyed them all as part of an easy walk.

Sovrasta il panorama di Randazzo ed é metà di numerosi fedeli e visitatori, da sempre farò e guida dei fedeli Randazzesi, Rica di storia e di opere d'arte sacra, sempre aperta e visitabile. Per chi è in zona merita una visita. Meglio nel periodo di ferragosto, quando si celebra sontuosamente la Madonna Assunta.

Randazzo fica em uma parada do trem circumetnea..é inacreditável que um vilarejo de 11 mil habitantes possua uma basílica tão imponente e bonita, começou a ser construída no século 13, o interior também é muito bonita.

Peccato che la relativa piazza sia circondata da edifici fatiscenti! Il Comune dovrebbe garantire l'impatto estetico di tali strutture.

Particolarmente raffinato il prospetto principale della Basilica di Santa Maria, stupefacente contrasto cromato in bianco e nero e con il campanile "Gotico Romano". L'interno "severo" è a tre navate.

La Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo è una chiesa a tre navate; ,incominciata a costruire nel Duecento è ad ordini sovrapposti.L'abside della chiesa sembra una antica fortezza di epoca normanna,mentre il campanile gotico romano è del tardo ottocento.Le tre navate sono arricchite da quadri dipinti dal palermitano Giuseppe Velasquez e dal catanese Finocchiaro.Nella navata di destra,l'ultimo altare trova la piccola sepoltura del Beato Carmelitano Luigi Rabatà,ucciso per gelosia da un despota locale.L'Altare principale è dedicato alla Madre di Dio,rappresentata in un bel quadro di Mario Vanni,opera del tardo rinascimento.La Basilica è matrice di un centro medievale,la cui festa principale è l'Assunta ,e viene celebrata il ferragosto di ogni anno.In quel giorno un carro alto venti metri,bellamente allestito con festoni,ori e fiori con venti bambini in diversi cieli viene tirato dai fedeli lungo la via principale del centro storico.E dai balconi,la gente lancia dolciumi e caramelle ai ragazzini della Vara in festa,seguita dal corteo storico in costume medievale.

Meravigliosa sia all'interno che all'esterno. Tenuta bene, pulita e ospitale. In un altro contesto sarebbe attrazione mondiale.

Arrivato a Randazzo, poco speranzoso di poter fotografare qualcosa, mi sono subito ritrovato innanzi a questo sorprendente monumento che val la pena vedere. Insieme ad altre attrazioni, questa basilica permette a fotografi e amanti delle bellezze architettoniche, di passare una piacevole giornata alle pendici dell'etna.

Die schönste Kirche die ich jemals gesehen habe. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen. Diese Kirche besteht ausschließlich aus Lava und ist sehr beeindruckend! Wunderschön ist auch die Statue der "schlafende" Maria

Рандаццо – один из самых колоритных и типичных городов у подножия Этны. Исторический центр сохранил средневековую атмосферу, усиленную черными вулканическими камнями. Территория его была условно поделена на три квартала, в Святой Марии поживали латиняне. Церковь Санта Мария относится к 1200 году и внутри очень красивая, сочетание белого и черного, колонны из базальтового черного камня, старые огромные ворота, выбеленные арки. интерьер украшен полотнами XVI – XVIII веков и скульптурными произведениями из мастерской Гаджини, Ничего подобного я на Сицилии не видела.
