clean nice hotels and restaurants are a bargain compared to anywhere in France, Italy, etc... ski mountain is small and lines can be long. But for the price it all works out well.
I always get surprised by terribly high prices every time I go to Spindleruv Mlyn. Spindl is just not good value fr money at all.Food, drink, skiing, accommodation, services are overpriced.Slopes are fairly narrow and queues long.I would not recommend for families with kids.
Spinderluv Mlyn is great! The town itself is so nice and the restaurants and Hotels in the area know how to treat their guests. I think the constant international travelers visiting keep the standards a little higher than most towns. I was there in winter on a skiing holiday with my 7 year old daughter and the ski schools were excellent especially Yellow Point ski school I recommend them. As k for the Hotel discount of 10%, they usually have some deal going.
Nice skii area, good prices for all but the lift. the lift passes are very expensive, even for french or austrian standards (for such a small area). The tracks are good and surprisingly challenging. A busy lift during the weekends with long waiting times. (but the beer is cheap though)
Very confortable walking ways and roads give a nice view to the whole Krkonose mountains. On that ways many typical mountains hotels are placed.
We came to Spindleruv in the low season i.e. no snow. We currently live in Prague and wanted a few days away from city life. The town itself is quaint and very much geared towards skiers and mountainbikers. It was however perfect for a brisk October as the walking around the area was excellent and the scenery stunning. Once you leave the understated pretence of the centre of the village, you are greeted by swathes of pine forest and stunning views. We managed to take the the chairlift up to Medved which can also of course be reached by a very rewarding hike (my wife is 6 months pregnant). The walking at the top and the views were worth every penny. We also managed to walk around the lake and dam at the bottom of the town, another picturesque and rewarding journey, with lovely hills, buildings and reflections. This is definitely an area to visit if you are spending any length of time in the CR. I can't comment on how busy it gets during peak season but in October it is perfectly manageable. In an aside we stayed at the Autokemp Spindleruv in one if their wood cabins which come in at about 800kc per night. An absolute bargain.
Very nice resort for summer and winter holiday. There are lot of slopes for good skiers, in summer interesting places for hiking.
I went to Spindleruv Mlyn for a weekend ski vacation. The resort is not to big but well kept.Nice runs, good food and excellent beer.I had a great weekend.
This town is mostly famous for skiing. Hills everywhere you look. Although we stayed in Spindleruv Mlyn in the summer, we enjoyed it as much as we always do in the winter time too. Nice square, a lot of restaurants and many things to do around. Mostly hiking though.
It was great for hiking, biking, bird watching, fishing, there was a dam that had different attractions - water bikes, boat rides. Also the surrounding little towns Vrchlabi and Trutnov were lovely to visit, shop and have coffee and local dishes to enjoy.
They say Spindleruv Mlyn is the biggest and the best ski resort in Czech Republic. Well, if this one is the biggest, I can hardly imagine what are smaller resorts are. Slopes here are kept in good condition, but are too few and short. Drinks and foods offered around ski lifts are mostly primitive.
Loads to do if you want to get active in summer.Couple of hours on the bus from Prague and loads of cheap places to stay.Walking/mountain biking.Even for lazy and lardy, those mountains may be a bit steep, but take the bus or cable car up in summer and spare the pain of having to get up them. Reasonable aquapark to while away a few hours For the dedicated lardy and lazy amongst us, loads of cafes and restaurants to overindulge.
It is one of the most touristic places in Czech Republic but it just has this beautiful atmosphere, many options during summer and winter, always nice to come back here.
this plce was great, was here during the snow season and the place was packed, really nice views, fun for skiing/snowboarding, a few cool bars nearby and just an all round fun place to be
excellent service, really comparable to Austria etc, variety of attractions, monkey park is one of them,
