Lovely buildings, easy to walk, mostly pedestrianized.Lot of nice unusual shopsDisliked the graffiti
Ljubljana's old town is lovely, best seen on foot or with a bike. Wonderful central market, lots of caffes by the river, great views and above all a very relaxed atmosphere.
This is a clean chic and sophisticated town with no pretense. It is relaxed and friendly. The architecture and natural layout of the town center, with a castle on the hill dominating the sky to the north is stunning. It isa really fun place to hang out. There are a lot of streetwise cafés to sit and enjoy a coffee.
Ljubljana as a whole, has a really lovely city centre. It seems unspoiled and is lovely to wander around. One of the nicest places I've been to date.
I live near Ljubljana for almost 20 years. Old town is great. Buildings are getting renovated every year. City centre is getting wider and bigger. And lots if times me and my wife just go to the city to walk around like turists watching all this buildings and nice streets.
Good food with friendly locals and charming streets and houses. Everyone knows english and is ready to help the tourists. Safe.
Very interesting and scenic old town. It is amazing in the middle of winter everyone is eating and drinking outside. So pleasant to stroll around taking in the sights and buildings and stopping for a beer with all the locals.I find it very enjoyable to be in a "tourist" area without seeing a single American
A beautiful place to stroll, shop, and stop for drink at one of the many cafés. I enjoyed the views even in winter, but I can tell by the types of trees that it will be incredible in spring and summer, with gorgeous weeping trees lining the canals.
The old town of Ljubljana is beautiful with the river running through it and the old architecture. The cathedral is well worth a visit and the hot chocolate to die for.
if you have never been to Slovenia, do not miss the opportunity. This is a country that will leave you speechless by its friendly people, cheap shopping prices and amazing food! Ljubljana is a great city and should definitely be visited and enjoyed.
Great buildings, market, bridges. All within easy walking distance of city centre hotels. Beautiful in the sunshine. Rather cold in the fog!
My wife and I stayed at the Hoel Cubo and really enjoyed the Old Town area. We spent 2.5 days walking the city before an 8 day bike tour of the Slovenian Alps. We loved the castle, Preseren Square, old market and the Dragon Bridge. Numerous cafes and restaurants to choose from.during your exploration of the area.
Every time I find time to walk around the old town of Ljubljana, I fall in love just a little bit more... It's like a first romance! The old town is different things to different people, but for me [ a senior citizen, damn it! ] it evokes all that is best in a city, melding the old with the not so old in a way that makes the heart beat faster. Walk down any street, you'll see what I mean. I'm an ex-pat and live 130 km from the city, yet I scamper to Ljubljana, especially the old town, when ever I feel the need for a fix. Dear visitors, do not miss this treasure!
The old town has shops, restaurants, nightlife. The main square is beautiful with castle in the background.
Lovely spot. Good shopping. Wonderful restaurants. Close to Ljubljana Castle. Very picturesque. A grateful place to visit.
