Make sure to keep wandering, there are some stunning views if you go up to the old walls and past the church. (But, if you do, you might want some grippy shoes). And, it's totally worth the cost...surprisingly cheap!

This is a must in Tbilisi! Offers amazing views of the city and takes you across the way up to an ancient fortresses/Mother of Georgia. The price is extremely cheap, and almost no waiting time. If you have to choose between the funicular and this--definitely choose this!

The place to go in the summer. Amusements and families. Great views over the city. Impressive trip to the top but lots to do when you get there including a bar and restraurant. Saw a young woman there whose high heels made her look like she was wearing stities.

Quite short trip that brings you in the top of the hill inside the old fortress. Fro there, one can enjoy a nice view of the city. A Night visit is advisable.

No better way to see the city. It is magnificent. Gives incredible views of the entire skyline and drives home just how beautiful a low rise city can be.

Very short ride for about 2 minutes, but the price is only 1 Lari if you have a Metro card. If you don't have a card you need to buy that for 2 Lari.

Took a ride up to eat one evening. The view was fantastic at night! Highly recommend this ride as well as dinner at the top!

Not only a fun ride but there's Mother Russia, and then the Nikhali Fortress. And most especially the great view of Tiblisi

The Aerial Tramway is great if you are interested to see the Old City in a different perspective.I would highly recommend to try the tramway while it's dark, the city lights are beautiful.

Well I am sure it is safe and all but despite that one shoud definitely walk down, as it gives way better photographic opportunities ;) plus if you walk down from the narikala fortress side (close to abanotubani baths) there is a great cafe called "narikala hill" with great views of the city.

Very nice view of the oldtown from above. Would be nice for pictures too, but the windows are not clean enough for that.

Modern, fun, convenient, cheap. In the very centre of Tbilisi Old Town it takes you up to the Natikhala fortress and offers a fun ride with a marvelous view! It's a must-do for those who want to enjoy the city. It's great in the afternoon, but I like it in the evening even more.Mind that you'll need to buy a special metro-money-card to pay for your ride. You can use it for the city transport (like buses or metro) as well, just top it up with money. The card is cheap and is sold and topped up right at the entrance to the rope way or at metro stations.

but be prepared to walk all the way down to the center in case it breaks down or stops, because this is what happened. Walking from the top of the hill to the center of the old town can be a pretty cool experience though, so why not combine both?

The best pics from above and descending, short travel but interesting enough. No need to rush, the frequence is fine and don't necessarily go packed.
