When we entered the Basicila we heard singing, we realised it was five guys who were singing at the front of the Basilica, it was amazing, beautiful voices. It is a beautiful place.

Climb up into the fortified city and find this beautiful church with its lovely stained glass. Free to visit.

The inside of the Basilica is speckled with colours from the multitude of stained glass windows when the sun shines. An oasis in a busy tourist location.Don't forget to admire the gargoyles on the outside. Some look incredibly life like.

Grey and austere on the outside but even on such a bleak day the cathedral "felt" warm inside. The reverential silence was enhanced by faint organ music and then a monastic chant. The stained glass was superb with beautiful rose windows. Enchanting.

The stained glass windows are beautiful.However as I knelt in the pews and moved about, I couldn't help but think that this was the dirtiest church/cathedral I have ever been in. The dust/dirt was at least an inch thick under the pews. I do understand how difficult it would be to maintain such a large church particularly when there are limited parishioners/funds. Perhaps some brooms / cloths could be placed at the entrance and visitors asked to not only donate money but also a few minutes of their time to do a spot of cleaning during their visit??

We made a quick stop here to see the Basilica as we heard about it, it reminds me a bit of the Cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague with the beautiful rose window and the stained glass windows in the apse. It was lovely & simple.

The Basilica of Saint Nazaire is a Really beautiful, peaceful church. Gorgeous windows. An unexpected space within the walled Cite.

I'll admit that my wife and I are in the tank for European churches. We love walking into these holy spaces and marveling at their beauty. The Basilica of Saint-Nazaire is as lovely a space as any we've visited. The stained glass is a definite highlight. A must-see within the medieval city.

One of the most beautiful churches I have seen. Go when the sun is hitting the old stained glass windows behind the altar. It is very beautiful. I truly found myself in awe, which is rare!

There was a wonderful Russian group singing achapella in the church when we visited. They were signing the most beautiful orthodox songs that created a most magical mystical atmosphere within the walls of the church. We were all transported back in time to a place of power, hierarchy, majesty, grandeur and elegance. Extraordinary, powerful yet magical.

Some beautiful stained glass windows, lots to see. A group of gentlemen were singing choral music when we visited which really added to the atmosphere of the building.

Great history with St Dominic and the Cathars- some incredible glass and statuary. One panel of glass is a duplicate because the original is in the Grand Palais Musee in PAris as a unique surviving work of its genre.

Walk through this beautiful church! The light streamed through the 2 colorful medieval rose windows. Don't miss this historic sight.

Situated in the heart of La Cite, the ancient centre of Carcassonne, the basilica is full of Cathar history and is decorated with fantastic stain glass windows. Well worth a visit.
