A 45 min tour around the house of the painter Zorn where he lived with his wife Emma. Ceratinly worthwwhile a visit but the tour is given only in Swedish and that is a real pity... One gets a one pager summary in English but thi thumbed surrogate makes it even worse. I am really surprised that in 2015 no audio tapes are available for foreigners....

Very interesting tour walking around in the Zorn mansion. Everything kept exactly as it was left when they died. "Hearst castle in mini format"!

The name of this legendary painter's HOUSE is Zornsgarden. It is NOT supposed to be a GARDEN for crying out loud. I am screaming at the last reviewer who had no clue who Anders Zorn was. Possibly the most talented water color painter ever, Anders Zorn and his wife Emma created/built this magnificent and interesting house piece by piece. His grand father's little Dalarna cottage was purchased and moved here which became the dining room. We can see the doors, windows, and ceilings painted by Mr. Zorn himself with local motifs. We were the only two in our tour. Our guide after realizing that we are big fans of Zorn and collector of his original etchings spent an entire hour with us in this house. It was an incredible experience to see first hand how this couple who were way beyond their time lived, loved, nurtured and supported their staff, their guests, and the entire community. Ikea had copied (without giving any royalty to the estate) many of Zorn family's ideas. This house had one of the very first vacuum cleaners, intercom system, dumbwaiter, central heating, innovative dryer, to mention a few. The house to this day draws a big crowd from architectural schools from all over the world. Of course the most fascinating part is to walk around in the same house preserved the exactly the way it was when Emma and Anders both and then only Emma after his death lived here. Oh yes, there is a garden and there area few of his sculptures in the garden. In the church ground right in front of the house is the grave stone of his mother and himself. He saved the original pews from the church. He also collected a huge number of original Rembrandt etchings which are housed in the house and Emma's library is another masterpiece. I can go on and on but instead of reading this, go visit this amazing place. Seniors do get a discount and there is an additional discount for purchasing combined tickets for the house and the museum.

Not really a garden, more a small setting for the family houses. Don't go if you are only going to see a garden. Better head south to Carl Larsson's garden.

Mora is in itself worth a visit. This is where the famous Wasa ski race (Vasa loppet) with 50 000 or so participants finishes. But it is also the town where the Swedish painter Anders Zorn lived for most of his life. It’s a very interesting museum and house (Zorngården) and the guided tour is excellent. Unlike many painters of his time, Zorn was a businessman and became very wealthy and as a consequence introduced modern items in his house and became influential in various ways for the development of the town of Mora.

Amazing to see how Zorn actually lived. Necessary to book tickets, but spend time at the fantastic museum with sculptures and paintings if you have to wait.

It is so fantastic to see how Anders Zorn and his wife lived - they were so before their time! It is really a gift to everybody to see it!
