Lake Bikaz (Romanian: Lacul Bicaz), official known as the Mountain Spring Lake is a storage lake in Romania, which was built up river Bistrica, a few kilometers from the city Bikaz (Bicaz). The dam was built between 1950 to 1960 and stored water used for hydroelectric power plant operation Bikaz-oak (Bicaz-Stejaru). The dam is 435 meters long, 127 meters height and maximum width at the base is 119 feet. Length of the lake is 40 kilometers long and covers an area 33 square miles

It is a very big lake, and you have a road that goes along it. Amazing view with the mountains and the country houses

the Lake Izvorul Muntelui or Lake bicaz like most of people use to call it, is one of the most beautiful places in Romania! is a place were people can get together and enjoy nature in a silent way. The road to get there is easy, by public or personal transport. As a family, or couple or a band of friends I recommend to try the boat! is a great experience, though, the price is a little high for a family budget.

Lake Izvorul Muntelui is a reservoir on the course of the Bistrița river 4 km upstream of the town of Bicaz.The dam,buit between 1950-1960 is 127m high and 435m long.The lake is about 35km long.The landscape is wonderful,the air is fresh-a magnificent area.On the left bank, close to dam is little touristic harbour.You can fing some guesthouses in the area if you intend a longer stay.

It is one of the most famous and beautiful lake in Romania. Lake Bicaz is even more beautiful than you expect, even if you have really high expectations. It's more a place where one can come and spend the day in the company of one's own thoughts.

A great view in a natural place with fresh air and wonderful lake is there to make you feel the pure atmosphere from wood!

I certanly recommend to take a trip from Bicaz to Poiana Teiului. Although the quality of the tarmac is not very good, the beauty of the area more than compensates this minor drawback. Especially in the evening,at the sunset the view of the lake is breathtaking.The entire area has a lot to offer to any tourist - from the small villages along the way to water sports on the lake or a hike on Ceahlau mountain which is very near. So just go ahead and enjoy!

So, the are that this Lake is in is a gorgeous mountain area with windy roads that demand a convertible in the summer ;) It is breathtaking the road from Bicaz to Poiana Teiului all around the Lake. Along the way you get to see small little Romanian villages, you can stop at B&B's or just drive and see what fresh air is supposed to smell like.

Excellent landscape! There is a mountain area with some cheap accommodation around, but the lake and the mountains are splendid.

La magnitud de la presa es impresionante, tiene 127 metros de altura. Construida en un mirifico entorno natural, la obra duro 10 años en la época comunista. Si transitan los Cárpatos de Transilvania a Moldavia, el camino pasa por Bicaz, vale la pena un recorrido a la presa.
