I like visiting distilleries and have been to quite a few. This one is one of the smallest and independently owned. Very friendly staff and an interesting tour. Most important of all they make really good whisky.

Me and Partner are not lovers of whisky but felt that we should experience a whisky tour living in Scotland. Susan was our tour guide and she really knew her stuff and seemed really interested in her job which made the tour more enjoyable. After the tour we went by to the Visitors centre to try the whisky, not our cup of tea but tried it all the same. We were able to ask further questions and Susan was happy to help

extremely nice small (tiny) distillery without lots of visitors and with very friendly and helpful staff, really well describing the activities of the distillery, with much more personal approach than in numerous other locations. Almost by the main road, easy to find.

Have been on a few distillery tours. This one is quite a small place. But, the tour and staff were good and the shop is nicely designed.

I visited this distillery as part of a colleagues leaving do, previously I had only visited the Glennfiddich distillery for a tour so I was keen to see how this compared. What I failed to appreciate prior to turning up however is that you cannot really compare the two, Glennfiddich is a massive commercial operation where the Benromach distillery is on a much smaller scale. On arrival the staff were very firendly and welcoming, the visitor area was very smart furnished with plush chairs and nice furniture. People who were wearing Christmas jumpers were told they were going to recieve a free dram!! They were delighted. There is plenty of car parking, the basic tour costs £6.00 and starts with a short video giving a brief outline and history of whiskey making and the distillery. Once this has finished we were off with our guide to go an visit the working parts of the site, this consists of mainly one building with a couple of stops. There are stairs to be negotiated so pushchairs and wheel chairs may face a difficulty here.We then went into a small warehouse where we got to smell one of the barrels and were given information about the storage of the product. They are expanding their warehousing here and we were told that production had risen sharply over the last year. This is a pleaseant little distillery with friendly staff and a decent amount of information given, the tour is shorter than what I have encountered previously but then it's much smaller. At the end of the tour we got to taste three whiskeys, if you are driving and not whiskey tasting then there is no charge at all for the tour. There are some nice mementos available for purchase and a list detailing a variety of different tours and different costs. One of the more expensive tours allows you to bottle your own whiskey which would be a nice touch to take home with you.Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lovely whisky experience - very friendly staff and beautifully designed visitor centre. Felt really relaxed and not "pushed" to buy anything. The tour was very informative - and interesting history in that one of the most famous Whisky trading companies (Gordon and MacPhail) decided to buy this distillery to finally make their own whiskies!!

I have visited quite a few distilleries but found the staff here to be particularly friendly and welcoming.Guide Alex was fantastic, informative and funny and led us through a tasting of several whiskies. It is quite amazing how different one whisky can be from another, and how a couple of drops of water can enhance the tasting experience. Alex knows his stuff and is willing and eager to share his knowledge. If you only ever visit one distillery in your life make it Benromach, you won't be disappointed.

I have visited numerous distilleries on my travels, some large, some small, some with knowledgeable friendly staff, some with staff who are just going through the motions. But I am delighted to say that Benromach is up there with the very best of them. Alex, our guide was an absolute star. He explained everything we needed to know, whilst acknowledging that we did have a certain amount of knowledge of the whisky industry. I would throughly recommend a visit to this independently owned distillery, I will certainly be going back for another visit.

We dropped in on this distillery on a wet saturday while we were travelling around in the area. Of course while in Scotland you have to visit at LEAST one distillery, and we decided to go to a small one to see how they did things. There were only the two of us on the tour and we were walked through the entire process, which was fascinating. Of course the reward at the end is the tasting, but we were shown HOW to taste it - and the difference that a drop or two of water makes to the mixture. Most of the price of the tour then comes off any purchase, and purchase we did - this is a very soft silky whisky, with just a hint of peat. Excellent tour, really enjoyed it and look forward to reliving it when we drink the whisky!

We went to the benromach distillery on the spur of the moment we really enjoyed the tour very interesting and informative, All the staff were brilliant from the young ladies in the visitors centre the guide and distillery staff we came across. I would definitely recommend a tour. The whisky is gorgeous as well.

This was a great experience. Our guide, Finn, gave us just the right amount of information and was able to answer all our questions. This is a small family business, producing a relatively small quantity of whisky. We also did the "bottle your own whisky" experience, a lovely experience with a fantastic whisky, very well presented. They said they will be stopping this next year.

You have to be out of your mind, not to visit a distillery (or two) while in Scotland, is my opinion. So, ... on our way, - there are signs, you do not have to follow, but ... Benromach! Nice, professional, good beyond laws, but we were to bike on.

My wife and I decided to do the executive tour which included tasting 4 different whisky's the tour guide Dave was very informative pleasant and answered all our questions . The tour starts in the museum then takes you through the working distillery and ended up with the tasting in the board room . Would highly recommend visiting benromach
