It's a great place for the kids and dog walkers alike. There are cafes some of which are open all year round. Most years I Walk my dog there on Boxing Day and stop off for a hot chocolate. Lots of parking Available and it's just a short walk to the local shops and pubs.

On the rivers edge, this is a fantastic park for all, with loads to do for kids and adults. You can easily spend a whole day here.

Take a picnic and enjoy a lovely few hours/day out here. There is a splash park open to the children in sessions of 20mintues and a priate ship to enjoy plus football fields, a sand pit and an areial runway! There are a few cafes/ice cream shops here but walk a little further a long the front to find the pubs (The Jolly Sailour serves lovely food) and sit outside on a sunny afternoon. Car park is a pay and display and is a little expensive but that's the council for you, I wouldn't not go here just because of that. Lovely day out.

The title says it all really. Very reasonable parking charges for people coming from out of Maldon and it is possible to park overlooking the water by turning right towards the statue of Britnoth.Level firm walking along the promenade with its mixture of dogwalkers and small children on scooters and tricycles. Large clean play areas for small children and an area for older children to practice their skateboard skills. At the seaward end is the statue of Britnoth, the local Saxon leader looking out to the site of his final battle with the Danes and at the other end the promanade morph into the quay with its interesting wherries and at least two good pubs both of which do interesting food. "Throwback" is not derogatory, but is the best word I can think of to describe an attraction which is for all ages and without commercialised rides and sideshows. Final thought - the smaller of the two cafes nearest the quay does the best Hot Chocolate with marshmallow this side of the Channel.

I was born in Maldon and grew up with the Prom as we know it locally. I love the place and visit on a regular basis. It is easy to take for granted what is on your doorstep. The attraction for me is to walk along the river and watch the boats etc but for many is the attraction has to be the park where children can run free. There is a splash park (open summer months), a pirate ship for the kids to climb over along with the usual swings and slides. There are numerous kiosks where you can purchase teas, coffees, meals, ice creams plus the usual picnic type goods. There are several events that take place on the Prom during the year, probably the most famous is the mud race. In addition there are bank holiday markets, music, car shows and so on. If thinking about a visit then don't hesitate as you will not be disappointed.

The promenade is worth visiting at all times of the year. We have been here on New Year's Day and in mid summer, in spring and autumn. There are always new vistas to see while walking, The amusements, free, for the children are safe, well maintained and great fun and there are a number of cafes and stalls were a variety of food and drinks can be obtained. Just the place to blow away the cobwebs, or just sit and unwind.

Park runs every Saturday morning, walk, run, bring the family. Mud race once a year take part or spectate. Fabulous place to walk your dog, stroll around the lakes, take a picnic or enjoy the various eateries around the park. Great entertainment spaces for the children, pirate ship, water fountains in the splash park, also various activities during the school holidays. Thames barges for day trips worth every penny.

We have been coming here for over ten years now and feel so lucky this is close to where we live...ample parking...lots of space, play equipment for all ages, tennis courts, foot ball pitches, a model boating area...plus all the refreshment kiosks, sandpit, boats and pubs near the water front...it's an interesting park with plenty in it to keep all members of the family happy and plenty of room for summer picnics...my boys particularly love the splash park which is open in the summer holidays, and the pirate ship for playing on, the zip wire and the wooden tower & fort and wobbly wooden bridge. I hope to continue visiting for many years to come.

The promenade at Maldon is a lovely place to visit. .A splash park and Pirate Galleon for the children to play on in the valley, a lake with two fountains fringed with rushes and full of wildlife-swans, myriads of ducks, moorhens, cootes=the swans nest every year well worth a visit to see their cygnets. you must take a walk along the "extension" and view the statue of Brythnoth from the Battle OF Maldon 991.Pleasant walks, boats, water, little kiosks for food and ice-cream what mor could you want.

For me this is an uncovered Gem and cant wait to come back in the summer to see the water park and to spend the day here, lovely place to come and relax and let the kids play

What a lovely place to visit, had something for everyone and on a cold crisp day there were still plenty of people around. Delightfully surprised at this park, had a seasonal outdoor splash area, the most wonderful children's play facilities, skate park, BMX track. If this is not enough there is a boating lake and lovely walks along the river. A superb place to visit in any season.

A great place to wander around and unwind - Good views (even when the tide is out) and interesting stuff to see, especially the barges on Hythe Quay and all FREE.

From the local perspective the prom is best enjoyed out of season or when the tourists have gone home. A walk to the end of the extension by Brythnoths statue, early morning or late evening is a great way of relaxing. Best view of Maldon is from here. Much missed is the swimming lake, now a duck pond, a victim of health and safety. A water splash, pirate galleon, crabbing and sandpits provide entertainment for the youngsters. Tennis, petanque, skateboarding and a model boating pool are also available.

Love Maldon Prom! It is great place to come all year round whether walking round the lake or down by the river. The view hasn't changed for hundreds of years. It is so well kept everywhere and plenty to occupy children in the Pirates Park. Facilities for having a snack or just a hot drink or ice cream. Safe for children to let off steam! Well done to those who keep it so well maintained.
