A very scenic and peaceful walk, especially in February, as there was barely anyone else there. Lots of birds around, and the area is clean and well-maintained.

Maybe we were lucky but there was hardly any other walkers and only a few bikes. We walked from the bridge along the recreation side of the river down to the footbridge. Over the bridge we walked to the racetrack along a well maintained path, noting the loan railway carriage housing a cafe (closed). We saw a warn out sign indicating that another cafe was 2-1/2 miles further along, so we'll keep this for next time Walking back along the river visiting Shakespeare's church and back into town. The sun shone making the whole river scene vibrant with the clear blue sky. The Avon is a wonderful addition to the town

We followed the River walk quite early in the morning, which was nice as no one was really about and sat for quite sometime next to the HolyTrinity church (a lovely spot - looking over at the recreation ground). Despite following the historic walk, personally I think the river and the canal basin are the loveliest part of the town (and gravitated back there) this is also the hub of all activities (and most tourists - myself included). As restaurants and seating seem limited on the waterside (and this area quite quickly turns into a residential street) the area next to the canal basin got more and more congested with people as the day progressed making it seem much more busier than it probably is.

A lovely river with plenty to see as you stroll along. We were there on an extremely crowded day but it did not spoil our river views or walking around. Plenty to see and plenty on offer around the river, with many food / dining options, various boat rides and sightseeing. A delightful picturesque town.

I was unsure what to expect of this walk, given it started in Central Stratford and initially was concerned that we would be following a long stream of people, but was pleasantly surprised to find that very quickly we were left the crowds behind and got to enjoy the Warwickshire countryside. It was definitely not a walk to be undertaken following rain as much is through woods and fields, but was a good beginners walk which was reasonably flat - there's only one point where you climb and descend steps through the wood, but these are well maintained and not too steep. The only slight criticism I have is that signage isn't always great and the refreshment stop shown on the map at the half way point, is only open at weekends.

A fantastic walk with nice food/restaurant along the river. Bit busy but that means everyone likes it!

Aside from the brilliant theatre we found Stratford a bit tacky, faux and touristy. It was not our favourite town. So you can imagine our pleasure to discover the walk and get away from the crowds. We walked the whole way on both sides. it was a little wet in places and there is the one place that has a few steep steps. That aside, one is in glorious, peaceful countryside, just you, the birds and a few locals walking their dogs. And, coming and going, Stratford looks a lot prettier from a distance. Another benefit for us travellers was in getting a bit of exercise and some clean fresh air.

Kept well maintained, beautiful surroundings, quite paths, ended at Holy Trinity Church and Grave Yard - very peaceful & pretty. Plenty of benches to sit & enjoy the scenery.

This walk along the banks of the Avon is recommended when it is dry as it can get rather muddy in places. Part way there are steep steps leading up from one of the locks and then down again further along. The route goes as far as an old railway bridge which crosses the Avon by the Racecourse and the return journey is all flat. There are two routes back - one along the Avon which we did not take, and the other along the route of the old railway adjacent to the Racecourse which was flat.

Pleasant walk with changing views along the river on both sides, particularly nice on a sunny day. Walk is an easy 3 miles there and back to town centre, and is full of locals walking their dogs or generally strolling. It does show the town well, with varying views, some wildlife, architecture and fields, and some changing river views with weirs etc.We did it both days just to stretch our legs and get our limbs moving, and it is a good way to work off lunch.

This lovely walk starts along the river and continues through fields and past the race course. There is a cafe in an old railway carriage part of the way round which is a welcome break. The walk is about 3 miles so not too far (even for a novice walker)

Great Sunday morning walk with two dogs but its not compulsory, you can do it on your own! We love walking around the river here and you can find quieter areas if you look and are prepared to walk further

Whilst it 'followed' the river to much was through farmers fields for it to be pleasurable. We turned back after a short while, and looked for something more interesting to do.

If you do anything in Stratford Upon Avon make sure you come out and have a walk along the river on a nice sunny day. It is one of my favorite places in the world now and I've seen a lot places. Nothing quite beats a quiet walk along the river watching the ducks and thinking about how long ago Shakespeare might have had this same walk along the river. A nice place for solo travelers, couples (a romantic picnic along the river would be an amazing date) or families with children as there's lots of place to run and play games.

A lovely place to walk and take in the scenery on a nice day. Very pretty surroundings, and a nice way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busier tourist spots. A great walk for the dog as well.
