We had a fantastic family day out here. As others have said, it is a wildlife park, not a zoo. It's nice to see the and ald having so much open space to roam around in. Can't wait for summer when we can take a picnic. Plenty to see and do with a great children's play area where you can relax with a coffee. In summer they have bangles firework displays. It looks like they're addding to it all the the time, it's only 6 years old and will only get better. I hear they're getting another 6 polar bears. what I like about it too is that most of the animals have been rescued from awful conditions they had in other zoo's around the world.Wonderful place with friends staff.

We love going to see the animals here, especially Victor the polar bear and the wallabies. It's bigger than it looks and the park workers are very helpful and knowledgeable. We especially like the fact that you can walk through some of the enclosures. But keep your eyes peeled for thieves of the furred variety, they are very cute!

I live within a stones throw from YWP and its such and incredible place. It's helping to make this side of Doncaster very popular as well as being a great place of employment for many people. The negative reviews on here annoy me greatly. This is a wildlife park not a zoo. Hence the large enclosures for the animals. After visiting London Zoo last weekend I'm glad our animals have such large areas. They areas that had at the zoo were ridiculously small. This is a great place to go. Lots of animals to see. Would recommend the annual pass if you live close enough because not all the animals are always up and about. This also annoys when people complain about this. If the animals want to lay around that's up to them people. This is not a circus!!! Have found having the annual pass a great thing to have. Can pop in for a stroll whenever we want which has helped us to see all of the animals moving around. For instance the Tigers seem to be much more active in the winter months so it's great to see them in the snow. Very excited about the possible arrival of more polar bears. Project Polar is going to be a very large bear reserve when finished and I believe Victor is the only polar bear in Britain currently. Visit this place you won't be disappointed

We went to the Wildlife Park as I had purchased an adopter pack from Amazon. We spent about 3 hours there and had a great time. The animals are all really well looked after, and looked to be happy. The guide we spoke to seemed knowledgeable and friendly. The only downside is the refreshments, the coffee was thick, sludgy and overpriced, however, what else do you expect from tourist attraction? If we had paid the full price of around £15pp, we would still have been happy at the value for money. We are planning another trip when the building work is done and there are more polar bears there.Be aware, there will be a lot of children around, and the lemurs will descend from the sky (trees) with some force.Well worth the trip!!!

There was quite a lot of ground works going on and certain paths were closed off, because of this and little legs we were unable to visit the Tigers, giraffes etc.I would suggest taking binoculars as this would enhance your visit and the kids would see the animals better. Both the outdoor and indoor play areas are brilliant. The cafe in the play area is expensive. Just under £7 for a kids meal and just under £8 for an adult meal and it's basically a McDonald's. It surprises me that they do not do a family ticket or an annual family pass. I think the wildlife park is brilliant however it comes with a high price ticket. It cost us around £55 which was 2 adults and 2 children. It would cost £200 for annual passes. I think for families that's quite steep. If you are going and taking children you obviously will be paying the same amount as us so to get the best out of your money I would suggest you firstly take a picnic; there are many areas around for you to eat. Secondly plan to spend the entire day there, go when it's good weather so you can spread your day out. There is a fantastic outdoor play area, one of the wooden tree house climbing ones, a brilliant indoor play area with views over the baboons and a fun slide barn.....make sure you're kids get the most out of these three places! Try to take binoculars as many of the animals are a distance away. Enjoy!

We have now visited & reviewed this many times as a local attraction and not far from home. This was a perfect day weather wise.Sun was out even though it was lovely but a cool wind. We actually went to see the new arrivals of 2 Armadillo's but unfortunately asleep in their bed. Since are last visit over the winter there is quite a lot of building work with improvements. This did not spoil our enjoyment. We mostly say all the animals. Victor the only Polar Bear in England is getting a young friend (Male) to keep him company once they have finished his living estate. Staff are always informative. We never tire of visiting YWP.

I have been a few times now, and plan to go for my birthday if the weather is okay next month, April 2015. We go at least once a year. What we love about this place is the freedom the animals have got compared with a zoo ! The enclosures, for eg. where the lemurs live and also the capybara and some small monkeys, you go into their environment. You enter through double doors so you can get in but they can't get out. You follow the path around their enclosure, and if you leave plenty of time for your visit then the feeding times are the best time, or when ranger giving a talk and wil entice them down from the trees etc.. There are constantly more and more animals coming here, and whilst its not cheap, where is !, take a picnic in with you and make a full day of it...they have a huge outdoor play area too. Ladies - wear sensible flat shoes, trainers, etc...you will be walking on paths that are eco friendly, not tarmac, more wood chip etc....if you like photography then you will be in Heaven, this place has some great spots ( animals willing ) for photos avoiding any nets etc you can get at other places. This place has two programmes and prices, winter and summer, a great website that explain it all. There is more going on in the summer, such as Hawk flying display etc, and that was great fun actually, and wasn't just birds ! worth going to see and give your feet a rest. The wallabies are very cute at feeding time, a big draw. The lemurs antics are not to be missed though, def, go when the ranger is there and they come down from high up in the trees !......shoes and clothes sensible outdoor wear, a picnic lunch makes it a lot cheaper with the family, lots to see and do. More and more animals arriving all the time and a great view over the wetlands, which is a bird / nature reserve. If Iived closer than an hour away I would be there a lot more....best on a good weather day, dry at least, as mostly outdoors and rain really would take the edge off your day. Check their webpage for updates ...very comprehensive.
