An easy bike ride over from the city center, they had a fantastic selection of beers on tap and bottled. We got a tasting flight of 6 beers (note that this is not on the menu, you have to ask for it) and it was just warm enough to sit outside on their terrace in the setting sun. In the summer time it would be a perfect place to hang out for a few hours. We did not get any food, but were told by other patrons that the meat and cheese plate was fantastic (it certainly looked good). The brewery itself was closed for tours, but you get a nice sense of the place and can take the obligatory photo in front of the windmill. We bought several bottled beers to go and they had a nice selection of souvenir merchandise. The bike ride back, however, was less easy after a few pints and a strong headwind. Take that into account!
Nice beer and good selection served in small volumes. Good busy atmosphere but served quickly. Had a good time with friends.Only downside was the cramped toilets and what we all believed was a sink was actually the urinal. Trust me this is important.
It takes about 15 minutes by bicycle from Amsterdam downtown, but if you stay 3 days it is really worth it the ride! It's a nice place, Go for a beer, they have a good selection and varietyCi vogliono circa 15 minuti in bici dal centro, ma per una visita di almeno 3 giorni ad Amsterdam ne vale veramente la pena! Andate per bere una birra o semplicemente fare una passeggiata, hanno buona selezione e varietà
This is a must visit place for anybody visiting amsterdam that enjoys beer, especially good beer! Brouwerijtij is a microbrewery inside a windmill serving their own home made beers.all are excellent! Food is also available like most Dutch bars, try the cheese and wash it down with a tasting plank of beer! It's a little out the way from Centraal, but only 5 mins on a tram and quite near the zoo!
My friends and I stopped here on our last day in Amsterdam just to try out some local beers. They have about 8 brews on tap and they were very helpful explaining each one. We went midday and the place was not crowded at all. Prices for beers are very good for quality of beer and relative to the rest of Amsterdam.
Amazing location with the windmill, stunning beer, and beautiful people. Whenever you visit the city, if you want to go out the most-know turistic routes, you must stop here for a beer...you will not be disappointed! Here you can enjoy the dutch athmosphere... without getting in a dark place. It is perfect for any age.... must be seen at least once!
Visited this brewery with friends during a recent trip to Amsterdam. Their beers are outstanding, very tasty and all locally grown and brewed. It got very busy at night, so busy that they actually stop offering flights of beers. This was a little disappointing but there were enough of us that we could each get a different beer and try them all anyways. I highly recommend this brewery, but if you want a quiet evening drinking beers with friends go in the afternoon.
Very good beer, in a beautiful spot (the highest windmill in Amsterdam). The atmosphere is always vibrant with a lot of young people around. Only annoying thing is that the place is open only a few hours a day, and closes really early in the afternoon...
What a waste of time (and money). This place is a tourist trap and, what is worse, far from the town centre. There is really nothing to see here and what I found most disturbing was the really rude staff and lazy service. Really no need to come here in my opinion
Great place to have a good beer (good and cheap). A little far away, but worth it for sure. Avoid the rush hour, as the place gets very crowded.
This has to be one of the best setting 's in Holland for a brewery to be producing some of the finest craft beer's ,that in my opinion, are the best in Europe.A great brewpub/tap room, with the added bonus of a windmill on a canal, great for a photograph and a great location for the brewpub to draw lot's of tourists in,super marketing potential. We've been here quite a few time's,but still alway's like to jump the tram from Amsterdam centraal to this very beautiful brewpub. We were here on a cold Friday early evening, and the tasting room was standing room only (there are not many seat's),but service in here is alway's swift,we began with IJ'NATTE,just superb, then followed this with their alway's tasty I.P.A.,again in perfect condition, we then finished with the absolutely perfect, IJ ZATTE,we gad never tryed this beer before, and it was the best of the 3 we sampled. The decor in here is sparse, bar, long table's and for decor, wall's lined with old beer bottle's,but it doesn't need gimmicks, the beer in here is the focal point. They get an eclectic mix of both local's and tourists, curious and in the know drinker's, there is also free wi fi.Easy to locate, jump tram 14 to PONTANUSSTRAAT or tram 10 to HOOGTEKADIJK,were you cannot miss the windmill. Opening hour's are, Monday to Sunday, 2pm till 8pm
We went there not only to taste the craft beers but also to make the tour around the facilities of this local brewery! We were not disappointed by any of the two :) The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is great and the beer tastes like heaven!
