The "Swan" as citizens of Rotterdam also call this bridge is a superb design from Ben van Arkel, a famous dutch architect. It's the third bridge connection between the northern and Southern part of Rotterdam.

This bridge is one of the landmarks in Rotterdam, connection the south and the north of the river banks. Make sure to cross by foot only when the wind is not blowing too hard...:P

It is defitinely different from all other bridges in the country. The crossing is very pleasant if the weather allows and a great spot for photos with the view to Katendrecht and the New York Hotel

We passed this bridge when we went to the Neeltje Jans and back to Noord Holland. By car we have intentionally take this route just to pass this beautiful architecture. One of the biggest bridges and could be the second biggest so far. Another engineering feat of the Dutch. It looks like a swan, an elegant swan floating the river of Rotterdam.

In one way it is hard to review something as functional as a bridge. However, this one is so architecturally beautiful that it is worth visiting to look at whether you use it or not. That being said, it is a pleasure to use, accommodating pedestrians, cyclists, cars and trams - impressive!

Yes it's beautiful.. do you need to walk it? ... not unless it is a great weather day. However the collection of buildings at both ends is worthy of your time to investigate, so plan time for that in your visit.. and have lunch along the canal where the historic theater is.

The Erasmus Bridge is yet another example of aesthetics in engineering. I will not write facts but the feelings. Not only does it connect the two sides of the river Maas, it connects new and old according to me. On the city side, you will see all new top class buildings and on the other are signs of older buildings probably most of them serving for the Port of Rotterdam. And when you take a cruise ride, like e.g. Spido, you can see the bridge from center line from far and you will clearly see how it is "so beautiful". As I was told it is a giant swan moving towards the Rotterdam. The walk by the side is very pleasing and if it sunny do find time to sit and meditate on one of the benches- feel like a yogi who is also a hi profile businessman. Not kidding! ;)

Aspects of Rotterdam to be enjoyed from the beautiful Erasmus Bridge. Wonderful to look at as you approach, exhilarating to stand upon and admire the city. Plus it helps you cross a body of water - what's not to like!

we were situated with our hotel right next to this wonderful, amazing feet of building which at night is fully lit up, it houses cars, trams and people, one section opens up to allow the ships to sail through, its a wonder to see and once you walk over it you will also have great views down the river Maas.It is used during the Rotterdam marathon, the formula racing day, with new years there is a music evenet with fireworks(pay)and is all year round open for use.

nice to go for a stroll, crossing from the north to the south part of Rotterdam. There are some area's on the bridge where you get away from the traffic and chill in the sun, while enjoying the view over the water, watching the boats and the day go by...
