The cloisters offer a very welcome refuge from the sun and the crowds, and the 'Salamanca sky' gives an extraordinary insight into fifteenth century astrological thinking. Just after lunch there was hardly anyone else there. To get there, face away from the famous facade of the university, go past the statue of Frey Luis and head for the left-hand corner at the back of the square. There, you'll see a hole in the wall, a sort of arch. Go through that and you'll find you're in the cloister. The Salamanca sky is through a door hallway along the wall at the far side.

Well we made it to the entrance during our visit to beautiful Salamanca, but workmen were working on the building and we weren't allowed inside. Shame, because was one the the most important destinations of our trip. Better luck next time I suppose. Check out images of this amazing attraction before you visit this area and make sure you go!

Make sure to visit the 'ciel de Salamanca' , a fresco depicting constellations in a room off this courtyard.

right opposite the main entrance of the University is the entrance to the patio of the Escuelas Menores and the room where the 15th century fresco is exhibited depicting a starry sky with some of the zodiac constellations.

We found the patio of the Escuelas Menores by accident during a lunchtime wander. One of the entrances is just at the end of the plaza with the University facade (where the frog is), and it was such a peaceful place (at least at lunchtime!), it was just lovely, you forgot you were in a bustling old city and we were there on our own for about 5 minutes, just enjoying the blue sky contrasting against the stone and the view of the tower above. Definitely worth a wander through, it felt like a secret find.

Um pátio pequeno, cujo acesso fica em frente à entrada principal da universidade. Bonita arquitetura.

Las "Escuelas Menores" están justo enfrente de la famosa fachada de la Universidad, en la que se debe buscar la famosa rana de Salamanca. La entrada da a un claustro y puede parecer que es una zona privada, cuando su visita es gratuita. Dentro del claustro hay varias estancias visitables que suelen albergar exposiciones temporales, y el "Cielo de Salamanca", una parte de un mural que tiene más de 500 años y se ha recuperado y restaurado mostrando todo su colorido y su temática astronómica.

Está delante de la Universidad, así que de paso que se pasa por allí a buscar la rana merece la pena entrar un rato y contemplar el patio, pero a mi lo que más me gustó fue ver el cielo de Salamanca. Transmite paz y pasas un rato contemplando los detalles. No se puede sacar fotos.

El patio da Escuela Menores, é muito bonita está escondida em um cantinho em frente a universidade de Salamanca. Ande entre os seus arcos e desfrute do silencia e tranquilidade desse ambiente.

Entri in questo chiostro e ti perdi nel tempo la mente scorre all'indietro nei secoli e ti ritrovi trastudenti intenti nel seguire gli insegnamenti dei maestri seduti in questo spettacolare posto.I rumori esterni scompaiono e rimani estasiato dall'architettura dalle colonne dai capitelli e poi....ti svegli

pátio da universidade, que pode ser visitado com guia do lugar em horários estabelecidos.a estrutura é muito bonita e é interessante observar a conservação e destinação até os dias atuais.

O acesso a este pátio fica bem em frente à entrada principal da universidade. É um lugar tranquilo com bela arquitetura.

de visitar el cielo de Salamanca, que se encuentra en el interior y es precioso, está prohibido hacer foto y películas, pido perdón, hice una pero sin flash.

Salimos de la Escuelas Mayores, es decir de la Universidad y de frente la estatua de Fray Luis de León, paseando a su vera y a escasos metros nos encontramos con el sosiego del hermosísimo patio de las Escuelas Menores con una fachada también plateresca. Es un claustro precioso de un solo piso y adornado con una balaustrada barroca en el que se encuentra el Museo Universitario con una interesante colección de pintura gótica, aunque quizás los mas bello sea el "Cielo de Salamanca" un mapa estelar pintado en el siglo XIV por Fernando Gallego en el techo de la biblioteca universitaria del que apenas queda una tercera parte que ha sido suficiente para mostrarnos con arte la belleza de un saber antiguo.Visita corta que merece la pena.
