Very nice to stroll around in the narrow streets. The small squares at the outside show beautiful views at the landscape of hills and mountains.

Superb for a 1 or 2 day visit followed by the surrounding natural parks. Museums great and we really liked walking around the quiet narrow streets after dark. Lots of history and architecture. Great drive from the coast over the mountains. Check out Albergue Municiple hostel for very cheap, clean, simple but superb accomodation. Some very cheap and excellent places to eat.

We drove up from Malaga, stopping along the way for beautiful scenery. The old city is well worth the exploration, but wear walking shoes. Steep walking in the old town. We observed young women in sandals trying to negotiate cobblestones downhill and it doesn't work! We braved the climb down to the old water mines and that is not for the faint of heart. It is slippery and dark, but again so worth it for a memory of a lifetime. Lunch was just past the bridge. The food fresh from the area farms, the view breathtaking. And yes, we did see the backs of the birds as they flew. Include Ronda on your drive through Andalusia and allow a few hours.

I like that the Church of Santa Maria Mayor is open to the public for a small fee. The municipal museum is also interesting, as are the gardens of the Casa del Rey Moro, when they are open. However, restaurants are expensive and mostly touristy. Your feet will be squealing before you are done walking over steep cobbled streets.

We explored the town as part of our tour. It is very well preserved. You could spend a whole day exploring the area. The view were breathtaking. The new and old Arabic bridges view are impressive.

We stayed in the old part of the city for 1-week, although you could take in the main tourist sites probably in 4-days, the longer stay allowed us time to enjoy the historic city of Ronda at a more leisurely pace. We took in the spectacular views of Ronda both from within the city and from the outskirts on different walks. A lovely holiday destinations for culture and scenery.

We strolled around this old city with its magnificent squares, cobbled streets and Andulician buildings. Simply wonderful and worth the effort to come.

Once you cross the Puente Nuevo (New Bridge - relatively speaking) and leave the main road, the pace slows to a crawl. Simply meander through old streets passing grand Hotels, fine dining places and stunning buildings bordered by avenues of orange trees.

Ronda is split in two halves by the El Tajo gorge, there is the "old city" and the "new city". As you would expect the old city is steeped in history and much more interesting. The old city is not that big and you can walk around it quite easily. What makes you stay longer is the maze of streets containing many historic sights, great restaurants and atmospheric bars.

Wide open plazas, lots of eateries of all types to suit all tastes and budgets.A mix of tourist and non tourist stores for those who like to shop as well as hunt for souvenirs.Charming speciality stores like the Iberico jamon specialist where for a few euros you can sample the local goods over a glass of wine.Narrow and interesting laneways filled with interesting distractions and a town you can just wander around soaking up the atmosphere, with stunning architecture and great museums.

i really enjoyed the beautiful architecture and views in Ronda old city.the bus-trip (1,5 hours, 9euro)with Portillio buses from Malaga bus station was also very nice ;offering good views of the green fields of sprouting cerials and olive trees under the january sun.I returned via Marbella, the hills and mountains between Ronda and Marbella are impressive and green with pine trees.A lovely excursion from the coast.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful towns in Spain and the old town is just beautiful - textures; colours; narrow, winding, cobbled laneways that suddenly open into small plazas, each one of which is unique in shape, design and ambience. It's a brilliant place to just amble without intent and just soak up the history and atmosphere.

Ronda is a magnificent 3 night 2 day stop and you really need to get your best walking shoes on and get out and about - there is so much to see. Get yourself a map from the Tourist office near the bull ring and also simple guide book from same location and then walk and walk. Take water and camera or iPhone fully charged up as you will be using it a lot. The scenery is amazing. Make sure you do the Hanging Gardens and the Secret Mine all 300 steps which are steep both ways but the result is so worth it.
