The gorge has wonderful views for miles. On a sunny day one can see far across towards the mountains on the west. One can walk down to the old arches using a paved way for most part but it does get rough after a while where the path gets dusty. Do take a walk down, would take an hour at tops including several stops but you get great views of the bridge from below. Nice photo -op.
Cristal waters and plenty of old and recent infrastructures to explore. You need good shoes to get down there. 14h00 is the best time to have good lighting on the Puento Nuevo.
Always take the trip up whenever we visit. Loads of walks so you can see the bridge and stunning views
This landmark is absolutely stunning. Be sure to view the bridge from multiple perspectives. Great view from patio seating at Don Miguel.
Photos just do this view justice. It really is breathtaking. I had heard from a few people at a hostel in another town that Ronda was worth a visit. But it was not until I saw the view of the gorge, surrounding hillside and of course the New Bridge that I understood what they'd been raving about.I'd recommend going for the walk down the west side of the gorge, down past the olive groves. The view from down there makes you love this little town even more.
Impressive view from the Tajo! Plenty of walks around the area. Lovely restaurants around the Tajo to enjoy a meal with a superb view Highly recommend it!
Gorgeous and such a fantastic piece of architecture. Fabulous views. Looking forward to going back soon :)
One of my favorite place to visit. SO beautiful, It is worth to go down the little path beside the bridge to see the full view and walk near the river !
Excellent views and wonderful bridge. The architecture is stunning and is clever how the two settlements are united by this magnificent feature.
Definitely worth a trip! Amazing views and lots of them! Lovely walk after tapas or shopping in the town before. If u are visiting the costa is trip is unmissable.
El Tajo at Ronda was more spectacular than expected. The fact that we could walk over and under the huge Nuevo Porta (New Bridge) gave an even better insight into its height. Although not that old in terms of local history (late 1700s), it was still spectacular. It is even more impressive in that traffic still crosses this bridge, 100m above the gorge. We walked down into the Tajo Gorge and viewed the bridge from below. The track was steep in places with many steps but well worth the effort. At the bottom of the gorge, the track went through to the other side of the bridge and under huge boulders. There was an aqueduct running along under the bridge and the water cascaded down the side of the valley in a waterfall at the end of the aqueduct. A spectacular attraction and well worth the effort to visit it while in Ronda.
You must visit Ronda if you are staying anywhere within at least an hour of here. The most amazing architecture, history, people and simply stunning breathtaking views make it one of the best locations in Spain.Stand on the new bridge (still built by 1793) and look hundreds of feet below you and feel your legs turn to jelly, think of the men thrown to their deaths or the 50 people who lost theirs lives when the last bridge collapsed.Definitely take the horse and cart from outside the fascinating bullring (where bull fighting started) across the bridge through the wonderful Old Town, where the guide will show you the Museum, Monastery, Convent and many more places of interest. One word of advise, it costs €25 for the cart but that is for 4 people, trust me it's worth every penny - you only live once so don't be so tight! Then visit the bullring and see its history, a bargain at only around €6, you really get to see so much and the museum is fascinating and in English too. Then of course there are the beautiful horses and their stables to view.We drove from Marbella to get to Ronda. Breathtaking drive up the very windy roads of the mountain, from sea level to 2,300 ft, well worth that drive up too, just to see the backdrop behind us!Enjoy
