Just next to the wonderful Alhambra Palace Hotel,the guided tour of this venue was fantastic.Excellent history and amazing mixture of styles.Extremely interesting and very well presented.Outside the gardens were beautiful with fantastic views over the snow covered mountains.Our guide had fantastic English and was extremely pleasant - I can only recommend a visit if you are at the Alhambra its only a 10 minute walk away.Inexpensive.

I read the reviews here and it got my attention.I was sadly disappointed.Yes it has history and an eclectic collection…but, the gardens were not what I had imagined.State of decay is evident throughout.

Was fortunate to have a private tour with an architect who works there as I was the only one there. Her English was fluent, as well as her knowledge of history and culture. This is a beautiful spot and worth a visit.

I went to see the gardens as I had read about them years ago. Alas, they were not as spectacular as I anticipated but lovely nevertheless. I had the guide all to myself and asked her to speak iin Spanish as I expected (and got) perhaps a better tour that way. She was incredibly engaging and the villa fascinating. For 5 Euros it's a lovely hour spent amongst interesting vistas and little understood features (i.e,, the caves) Wonderfully low key, although the response to many questions ("We don't know why/where) can be frustrating, this is never the less a nice addition to one's understanding of Spain, artists, class and Granada. I took the 1 hour tour which did not include the library and more works of Rodriguez Acosta. In fact 1 hour was a bit short as there wasn't enought time to enjoy the museum at the end of the tour.

A special place with an extraordinary history and collection. Excellent guided tour; make sure to tour the studio and library.

I went here based on the many good reviews on TripAdvisor and was sadly disappointed. The house is in disrepair. The statutes are copies. The fountains were off. The tour guide was kind and spoke English well enough but didn't have a clue when asked certain questions about the building or the builder. The vistas were nice but you can see that without going here and the caves were interesting but not enough to make the tour worthwhile. Save your money and do extra research before trusting the reviews here.

Rodriguez Acosta was the son of a rah banking family who took up art. This building is a lasting tribute to what he created. The gardens are simply wonderful. I'm not normally a "garden sorta guy" but these are special. The interior has some fine and interesting art and some architectural quirks that are worth a look too - especially the secret tunnels. If like me you couldn't get into the Alhambra this is just down the hill a bit and almost empty. When I visited I was the only one there and had a guide to myself. 5 euros very well spent.Criticism - yes one ! The tour is allocated one hour and you are 'whisked' through things which should be savoured and contemplated. I wanted to sit and look at things but my guide (the charming Vanessa) wanted to always move me on.

An unexpected find over-shadowed by the Alhambra which is on the opposite hillside. Knowledgeable guide in Spanish and in English took on a tour from top floor, and via the gardens down into the basement caves and tunnels. This fascinating building designed and built by Rodriguez Acosta a painter and designer who gave up his painting to build this architectural marvel. Almost Escher like with its shapes and lines views through arches and avenues reveal the Granada below. We didn't have time but once a day the library is opened and a tour round will show his books paintings; the usual tour also takes in the museum collection of archaeological finds, some pre roman. About twenty minutes walk from the Alhambra Palace, through a lovely shady park, we booked tickets to this museum with our Alhambra tickets & were very glad we did. The visit was great value, with timed access and a guided tour for our party of five from an english speaking guide who was welcoming, knowledgeable & very friendly. It was a peaceful break from the crowds at the Alhambra.The building and museum were stunning, the collections were interesting, and the children's favourite were the caves!

A went to this museum as the ticket was on a combined entry pass with the Alhambra. I enjoyed my visit here just as much, it is from a more recent time in history & showed what a man with architectural vision (& a huge amount of inherited money) can achieve. it was not at all crowded, I was the only person on the guided tour, which explained the most interesting facts about the foundation. The only thing I didn't understand is why there won't more people there because it's definitely worth taking a 10 minute walk from The Alhambra Palace.

We accidentally stumbled across this lovely attraction. It is a real gem and well worth the small entrance fee we paid. The architecture and the collections of this foundation are amazing as is the view over Granada. There are some surprises here which adds to the Alhanbra story. Well worth a visit.

Besides the gardens and some interior area of the house they have a lovely museum. But in order to get to the museum you have to go through the guided tour and the guide will give you basically 10 to 15 minutes to peruse it. It is a shame the museum is not open to the public without supervision. Worth going, really nice.

If you're reading these reviews, like I did, when considering whether or not to get the joint entry ticket for the Fundacion and the Alhambra, definitely do it. You can visit the Fundacion one day either side of your Alhambra booking; we went the day after, and it was a great 'antidote' or 'complement' to the grandness of the palace and its gardens. I don't want to spoil the surprise for you: the Fundacion is a marvellous curiosity, and therein lies its appeal. Visit is by guided tour only and our guide (Guillermo, I think, was his name) was fantastic (and trilingual) -- I'm usually a 'make my own way round a monument' person, but he was excellent: knowledgeable and characterful. We spent a delightful hour there.

We visited the Fundacion R. Acosta just last week, Sept 2014 while in Granada and very much enjoyed it. This is a combination tour of an old home/art collection/garden and located on a steep hillside with sweeping views of the city. You can only visit with a guide, and the tour is the perfect length of 1 hour.
