Great place to sit and watch the port in action. Plenty of benches surrounded by arches and columns. Broad panorama and plenty of time to soak up the sun.

I put the Saluting Battery on the list to be visited. All together a nice view, worth its time. Unfortunatelly have no time to listen the battery at 4 p.m.

almajosgan

Dear almajosgan,Thank you for the review of your visit to the Saluting Battery - Its particularly pleasing that you chose to pay the modest entrance fee to visit the battery and thus were able to take the guided tour, watch the ceremony up close. Its good to know that you felt our guide Steve was informative, witty, and made tour interesting and that your visit was the "highlight" of your day in Valletta..

StevenH727

Dear Steven H,Thank you for the review of your visit to the Saluting Battery, particularly as you not only viewed the 12 noon gun salute from the gardens but then returned and paid the modest entrance fee allowing you to outside take the guided tour immediately before the 4pm gun salute. We are pleased that you felt our 'soldier' re-enactor kept you fully engaged for the whole tour and that the information was passed on in such a 'user friendly' and interesting way. The visit to the battery also enables visitors to see the wonderful and uninterrupted views of Valletta Harbour. Thank you again for you comments regarding the fact that the Battery is "well worth the visit".

Dear Mick D,Thank you for the review of the Saluting battery. Whilst we appreciate that you had already visited the the Lascaris Rooms its a pity that you did not take advantage if the Modest Entrance Fee to visit the Battery rather that to view the 4 pm Gun Salute from the gardens. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit to both sites and hope that you may take the opportunity to visit the Battery when you next visit Malta.

HelePavi

Dear Helepavi,Thank you for the review of your visit to the Saluting Battery on the feast of St. Paul, 10th February. We are glad that you found the experience "utterly fantastic" . We fire on a cannon every day at 2 noon and again at 4pm and as you saw we sometime fire a full gun salute of 8 cannons on special occasions. i am not sure if your paid to enter the Battery or if you watched from Upper Baracca Gardens we encourage visitors to pay the modest entry fee of two euros per person which gives visitors the opportunity to visit the collection of historic cannon, artillery related artifacts and the restored Gunpowder Magazine and also the restored Side Arms Store. The entry fee also includes a free guided tour after the firing at noon and at 3.15pm.

SIRNED

Dear SIRNED,Thank you the the review of your visit to the Saluting battery. Unfortunately many people choose the view the regular daily gun firings at Noon and 4 pm from the Upper Baracca gardens which means we miss out on the revenue we need to for the upkeep of the Battery and firing the saluting guns. We try to encourage visitors to pay the modest 2 Euro entrance charge to view the battery, have the free guided tour and see the collections of Historic Cannon and Artillery related artifacts and the restored Gunpowder Magazine and Side Arm Store.thank you for your review and we look forward to seeing you next time you visit Malta
