Stayed 2 days at the camp. Food and service outstanding. We had one on the chalets with shared communal bathroom. Would recommend this option than the rooms as you are coder to the dinning and entertainment/communal area. Rafting was excellent. Great spirit built by the oarsmen resulting in great fun between the different rafts and bringing together the rafters from Camp Grab. Pet friendly. A very enjoyable and memorable stay. Thank you Camp Grab
My family and our neighbours decieded to go rafting.Everything in the camp is awesome. But our bathrooms in our rooms "s7""s8" were both a little bit dirty but it's ok.This camp is just perfect to see how beautiful the "mountian" side of Montenegro is thanks a lot ! :)
If you're arriving from the Montenegro side, I highly recommend doing the spectacular Pluzine to Scepan Polje drive in the morning when the morning light strikes the mountains and cobalt waters from the east (particularly if you're a photographer). This drive, for me, is one of the highlights of Montenegro. The light in the afternoon is very different - the water and mountains visible from the road are in shadow. Also the final 10km to the camp is on a low-quality road - not advisable in the dark! Now to Camp Grab and the rafting. Everything about this operation is very competently managed, from the answers to emails and phone calls to the signposts on the way in, to their staff greeting and explanation and finally their rafting guides. A fun, well co-ordinated team take you down the Piva Canyon, jumping off rocks, visiting waterfalls and swimming along the way. A very tasty slow-roast lamb buffet lunch follows the half-day package (which was the perfect length for us - beware the waters are chilly, even in Summer wearing the provided wetsuit). You will get wet! But that's part of the fun.
This place is a real find - comfortable accommodation, great food and a superb atmosphere in a stunning natural setting. We used Camp Grab as a base for a 3 day kayak trip down the beautiful Tara River and even before we arrived the team were super helpful, providing good advice, logistics and even sorting out some decent local kayaks for hire. Once we arrived they made use feel really welcome. We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was fine for a group of six. The food is great - chef is obviously proud of his work and served the food himself every meal, even their own wine was very tasty. However the best part from my perspective was the location and atmosphere. This was the first camps on this stretch of the Tara and it's a fantastic location - loads of great activities and a lovely spot to just laze overlooking the river. Especially recommended to kayakers and anyone else who wants to enjoy the river - Dimitri is kayak mad and couldn't have been more helpful!
We arrived in Montenegro one day before heading to Camp Grab. I kinda wish I had had a heads up before driving that the last 10km of the roads were awful. I might have rented a more substantial car, but I can say that it's possible to get here in a Chevy Spark and live to tell!We (two American girls) brought a tent so the 5€ a night camping fee was helpful for us to budget more to doing things. We rafted and canyoned. I have rafted several class V rivers and was expecting to be underwhelmed. It was a busy river, lots of paddling with scenic views. Our guide was fantastic and the experience was wonderful to say the least. If you think you can handle 3+ hours of medium exertion and ultimate adrenaline rush...do the canyoning. It is worth every penny!! And that's all I'm going to say about that. The food at camp was the best we had in Montenegro. I am a vegetarian and loved everything (that I could eat!) My only suggestion, get some desserts!! I hope to visit camp grab again someday. It was perfect in every way!
I'm a lawyer in NYC which means joy, peace, and calm have been crushed by my soulless job. Camp Grab restored my faith in humanity. Not only is this place something completely unique and pure, it shows you what truly good people are like. It has placed a stamp on my heart for which I will never forget. The first day we got there, I was like oh boy, here we go, camping- blah. The next we went rafting and the thaw set in. We met incredible people from Holland in our raft and got to know our guide- Vladmir. We became a unit. We laughed, we dove off cliffs, we became one. Later that night we sat around the fire learning about each other and we became friends for life. The third day we went canyoning. Let me first say this is very rigorous but if you are up for it, it will rattle your core and transform you. Dimitri was our guide. We had a group of 4ppl. We saw things that were half out of Jurrasic Park and half out of Goonies. I'm not sure what to say other than it's a truly inexplicable feeling going through the second largest canyon in the world and having no sign of life around you. That night we ate a hearty meal, drank like fools and danced by the fire like wild devils! It was magical. The food is all homemade on the premises from food from a nearby village. It was to die for. Hearty breads, meats and cheeses. I was in heaven. So here's the key- open your hearts, get to know everyone, share your war stories, fall in love with Montenegro and Camp Grab and feel what it's like to be truly alive once again. I did.
We (mother 43, son 13 and daughter 10 years old) visited Camp grab for 3 days. We did fishing and two times river rafting. It was like a luxury scout camp. Lot´s of extra activities like bathing in the river, playing with the dogs and cats, walking in surroundings and relaxing in the hammock. Traditional mountain kitchen, everyday with homemade specialties. Tasteful for both kids and adults. Cozy outside bar and restaurant, where the guests could mingle. Perhaps little too fast served, we hardly had swallowed the soup before next course was served. The river rafting was fabulous good, beautiful, exciting. We all felt safe, good instruction and equipment.Could improve communication from home page, not clear what activities were available or not.
We had an amazing 3 days at Camp Grab. Everyone who worked there were so friendly and helpful. River rafting was great fun too! A very peaceful and relaxing location with beautiful scenery. I will definately be going back one day!
If you can get to northern Montenegro, stay here! Its the BEST location on the river. The class IV rafting in the Tara river and canyon is breathtakingly beautiful. It is so beautiful and the rafting is very fun - but you should be somewhat adventurous. The camp cabins are clean and cute. The staff is very service oriented! The food is very good and if you have any dietary restrictions, given notice, they aim to please. We loved our time here and highly recommend it.
Polecam zaliczyc koniecznie a najlepiej w Maju kiedy rzeka jest najbardziej rwaca. Super ludzie, mozliwosc rozbicia namiotu, restauracja, jedynie dojazd dosc trudny, szczegolnie zwykla osobowka ale da sie.
