We got so lost trying to find this place and as we were about to give up we arrived. GPS is horrible and didn't help at all so don't bother lol. Parking is very limited and if you aren't paying attention you will drive right past it as there are no signs. We had to park on the side of the road as there were a few people already there. The hike up is a little steep but doable and the reward when you see those falls is great! We hiked to the very top of the falls and it was equally beautiful up there. Spent the day listening to the rushing water and our child had a great time playing in the cold water. I recommend taking the adventure to find this fall.
We loved these falls, although they are not well marked (you really have to be looking), it was worth the drive. It's a very short walk to the falls, well worth it.
My husband surprised the family with a mystery tour to this beautiful waterfall. The directions were a little confusing, but there is a sign if you look close enough. The hard packed dirt road was okay, even for a low rider car. Parking is limited for a chosen few. The hike is fairly easy, but was very muddy and lots of roots to avoid getting tangled in. Once you've reached the top of the trail, the reward is astounding. Absolutely Gorgeous falls! The cool crisp December air was very refreshing. A must find for the treasure hunter. No disappointment here.
This was hard, hard, hard to find. Once we got to the trail head, though, it was a fairly easy hike. Not steep at all, but lots of tree roots. It was freezing, and I kept saying, "This better be worth it." It was. It wasn't a giant fall in the sense of those in Tallulah Gorge, it's plates, and plates, and plates, and the water stumbles and plays. I can't tell you how charming it is.The easiest drive in a krappy little Civic is to take Lake Rabun Road to the dam. There's a huge Georgia Power sign there. Turn and cross over the little river. Right after you cross the river, there's a road on the left and a little wooden sign. Take that road for about 5 or 10 minutes. Keep an eye peeled for a railing on the right that has Minnehaha painted on it. There is a parking area on the left that fits 4 or 5 cars, if everyone plays nice. Happy viewing!
Can not believe we never knew about these falls as we have been through the area on the way to the Smoky Mountains many times. Will always be a stop for now on!. We were going north on 441 and entered via old 441 and Bear Gap Road. The dirt rd this way is very twisty and even crossed water in the road twice. Would recommend entering south of Clayton. Directions are found on Google. Either way,the falls are worth it as they are beautiful and only a short hike to them. No signs at the road, but you will see wooden stairs with Minnehaha on them. The parking is very limited. Bear Gap Road is a gorgeous drive also.
A very short hike (0.4 miles roundtrip) to some spectacular falls. Very limited parking, so plan to go early or on a weekday.
I have never seen a real falls before. But this one is very attractive one.It is rather good located near the light train blue line station. So it is very easy to reach.
A very short and easy hike to beautiful falls. The hardest part is the road to get to the entrance. There isn't a lot of parking so on a busy fall day that could be an issue. I did the hike 7 months pregnant with no problem.
You can get to the waterfall on Bear Gap Road in North Ga., coming from the Lake Rabun Road side or the Orchard Road side. Hard packed dirt road to the falls trail. Parking is sketchy, as there is only a small pull off area where you start the hike. A short moderate hike to the falls from the road is well worth the effort.
Beautiful drive and then a .4 mile walk to the fall. Very easy walk, but not for handicap or wheelchairs. Be sure to bring your camera.
This short hike brings you to Minnehaha Falls... a beautiful place to relax, wade in the cool, cool water, and enjoy another of God's creations.
Worth the walk. Three miles down a dirt road to the trail. Well worth the walk. Spectacular setting.
There are several beautiful waterfalls in the north GA area, this is one of the easiest to get to. The trail is clearly marked and it is an easy short walk up to the falls from where you park.
This is a bit out of the way and more rural than any other falls we visited on our trip but they are worth every moment. A very easy short walk to the base of the falls. You can walk up the falls and even walk across them. We were the only ones there on a Tuesday second week of August. Absolutely wonderful. On your drive there you might think you past it - there is a very small parking on your left and a wooden handrail engraved with "Minnehaha falls" from there it is a short walk. ENJOY!
After a little hike up through the forest, it opens up to this amazing place. You won't be disappointed. Breathtaking, secluded and picturesque!
