well worth stopping by to see this... Paul Anderson was born in the town and he was the strongest man in the world and local people created and maintain this park - its really interesting and parking is easy, its a free park, and I recommend you go check it out.

We were in Toccoa and stopped at this pretty little park not knowing who Paul Anderson was. His statue, and the fountain surrounding it, tells his story on several concrete engravings. He suffered a liver disease since childhood but despite this health problem, taxed his body to become an Olympic champion power lifter. Read more: paulandersonpark.com. While in Toccoa, visit the Toccoa Falls on the campus of Toccoa College, and Camp Toccoa---the US first airborne school opened in 1942. ("Band of Brothers" filmed a portion of their drama at Currahee Mt where the paratroopers would run up and down for a total of 6 miles.)

Enjoyed our visit to the Paul Anderson park. Flowers were lovely and everything was so well kept! The story of Paul Anderson is fascinating.

Very clean park! American Pest Control Toccoa visited for an Event, Christmas 2013 & there was a lot going on, but it was well kept & great atmosphere. Me & my children will go here often, if that's possible.

Small town Toccoa seems to have more than it's fair share of historical pages. Paul Anderson is definitely one of them and they have created a beautiful little park to celebrate his legacy.

The park was beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. We especially enjoyed the history about Paul Andersen.

My wife and I both grew up in Atlanta area, knew OF Paul Anderson, but never knew he was born and grew up in Toccoa, Ga. His story of winning the 1956 Gold Medal in Powerliftng in the Olympic games in Australia is amazing, let alone his incredible strength as a super-heavy wight power lifter. The memorial park tells his story and well worth seeing it just a minute from th downtown area. Oh yeah, don't miss the house he was born in, just a block from the Memorial Park., someone still living there.
