Pricey ok food. Makes you think there's more downstairs! But just a gift shop, tight n crowded when eating..Waite staff excellent.
It reminded me of sloppy joes in key west--fun party atmosphere is an historic saloon with decent bar food and great live music. Highly entertaining and an overall great time
Barbequed brisket was delicious & filling, very reasonably priced. The place was packed & full of excitement on a recent Saturday night. We hated to leave!
We really liked the atmosphere of this place. There was live music and people dancing and in an old saloon. Staff was not very kind with us. Food was good, classic hamburgers, salads, sandwichs, and fries.
We stopped in here for lunch on New Year's Day 2015 and were very pleased not only with the quality of our meals (tender chicken in one of the sandwiches and lots of fresh spinach in my caprese sandwhich) but we loved the musician who was there. Lots of great songs (western, country) that were very fitting to the mood and the location. The Saloon was quite busy and we decided when one of the actors who we had just watched in the OK Corral shootout reenactment was there for his lunch, it had to be the best in town!! We were only sorry that we had to drive back to Scottsdale or we would have grabbed a beer and kicked back to enjoy the music after our lunch. Our waitress was great - helpful, efficient and very knowledgable about the menu. All in all - a great experience adding to our Tombstone visit.
We have been to Tombstone twice in the last 5 years and stopped in a Big Nose Kate's Saloon, the first time we had lunch, the entertainment was fun to watch but the buffalo burger came back with a revenge and sick for a few day's after. Returning for the second time this last year, we had great time watching the entertains, hanging the men who was wearing shorts, "real men don't wear shorts". We sit up at the bar had drink lots of beer without the food. Then moved to the Crystal Palace for a great lunch and more beer. Tombstone has great entertainment, great costumes it's like going back in time and visiting the wild west. We can't wait to go back for another visit.
This was a small, loud, and crowded restaurant. Not a lot of food to choose from on the menu either. We ended up just having an drink and then going to Crystal Palace for lunch. It was not so loud and there was a lot more room to move around.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Tombstone, AZ. It takes you back in time. Big Nose Kate's Saloon was a great place to eat, enjoy the entertainment and get lots of novel pictures.
make sure and go downstairs and see where they preserved part of where it had originally burned and some of the staying quarters. Grab a souvenir and have your picture made behind the bar!
We took my daughter and 9yr old grandson to Tombstone last week of Aug. 2014. Had to visit Big Nose Kate's Saloon as my husband and I had taken his cousin there the year before. We stopped in for drinks and nacho's this time around. The old building has lots of history. Was once part of the big hotel the upstairs saloon part now was once the hotel lobby. The lady downstairs in the giftshop can tell you all the history really interesting. They always have a great musician/singer playing and the decor and old photos are really nostalgic. An elderly gentleman came up and asked my grandson if he would like to dress up in a sow-wester coat, bandana, and cowboy hat anyway both him and my husband were dressed up in the western gear of the day and given rifles with inner works removed and we got some great photos with our own cameras no cost. My grandson had a great time and will now have great memories of his trip to Tombstone.
Restaurant was interesting. Did not eat there so can not comment on that. We had read about the ghost tour and waited until dusk to attend. Most of the stores close early - so there was nothing to pass the time. We were very disappointed - it was a narrated walk through town by a cowboy telling tales of "ghost stories." Maybe this is just not my thing - but we expected more. Then the cowboy had the nerve to ask for a tip.. which is normal for all of the events that you pay to attend.
We stopped in here for "one drink" on the way home from dinner but stayed until closing because of the great music and atmosphere. We actually felt like we were back in that era, with all the noise and fun from that time.
Visited too early for a beer but we looked around and sat at the bar for a sarsaparilla and a diet coke. Not sure of the food but would go back if we were there in the afternoon. Hard to tell what was historic from newer features. Pretty bar.
Food was good. There is also live entertainment. The place was packed when we went there for lunch. Friendly servers always makes a difference. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite to eat.
Waiters & Waitresses all dressed up and carrying fake guns around, all look too cool for school, but all of them are perfectly polite and we had one of the best service ever while in the US. The guys was extremely attentive. There was some live music with the entire Saloon singing along. Now that may not be your cup of tea, but for us Europeans this was a very nice experience.Really blends in well with the whole idea about Tombstone.Would come here again.
