martha's gardens medjool date farm

We bought maple praline syrup. It was very good. But the date shakes were not that great, maybe too sweet? Disappointing because I LOVE the date shakes in Dateland and was really hoping to have a location nearby.

This is one not to miss. I never knew so much work is required to grow and harvest the dates. They hold two tours a day and they last about an hour and 1/2. (Cost was $10 a head, You must phone in for a reservation or sign up on site.928-726-8833 They book up a few days in advance.) No walking required as they transport you out to the fields in a wagon trolley and make about four stops in various locations.It is a good idea to bring some water and a hat. You will get an in depth education on the history of the date Palm, how it came to be grown in Yuma, and a detailed description of the process used to grow, pollinate, care for the dates, thinning, protection from insects and birds, right through to harvest, grading and packaging the dates for shipment. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who manages the family owned farm. After the tour you may have lunch, sandwiches, date shakes, etc. at the little restaurant in the gift shop. You have the opportunity to purchase dates right on site. You can also ship them anywhere in the USA. This is one of the best tours that I have been on. Interesting and very educational. The date shake was delicious and the sandwiches were so fresh. Excellent experience.

What can I say .... date shakes , date shakes... date shake are great. I think they serve lunch too , but you are really there for the ...... wait for it ....... date shakes. Right. Yummy.

This shake was very delectable. Sweet, rich. Almost too rich! Very good in all respects! They did have some other treats as well, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they had.

This was our 3rd time to Martha's and it was another great visit. We tried the date shake for the first time.....wow so good. ALL must have when you go there. We sat out side enjoying our shake when the owner came over and we chatted with him for quit sometime. Very interesting and knowledgeable man. The first time we were here in January 2014 we bought a small bag of dates.....well when we got home they were so good that we said next time we buy more so this time we bought 25lbs of awesome, delicious dates. They also do tours of the farm. Would highly recommend going to Martha's.

To clarify, the cost of the tour is $10 per person, and normally it takes 1 1/2 hours, but sometimes it can run a little over on time due to lots of great questions our guests ask while on the tour.We hope to see you again very soon, and thank you very much for your business!

We finally checked out Martha's date farm. A very nice setting amongst the date palms. We did not stay for lunch but the date shake was a new and delicious treat! We purchased several date sampler packs for gifts that included dates in chocolate,coconut and walnuts. Well, when we got home old Homer here was into the sampler mmmmm my favourite was the walnut covered. Gee i guess we'll have to go back for more!

The grounds are lovely, the products to buy all look delicious. We had the shakes and they were all they were as good as promised

This was one of my favorite things about visiting Yuma! The tour was very fascinating and the shakes ere were so yummy! I highly recommend visiting Martha's Gardens and going on the tour!

Martha's Gardens is a little off the main drag, but well worth the visit. Their lunch special included a date shake which was wonderful. Grounds were beautiful and the lunch was good. The owner was more than happy to answer all of our questions. Able to sample many kinds of dates.

Small store selling date products and other items produced on date farm. Date shakes will destroy your diet plans and fill your sugar need for several hours to come (they are GREAT). Tour requires at least ten people so call ahead, otherwise not much to see. If you love dates this will be your new 7th heaven. Nice people there will answer all your questions.

We sincerely apologize that you had to wait as long as you did. We recently hired several new employees, and they are still learning the procedures and are getting more efficient at their positions. Since we do make every date shake to order, this can generate a wait time that can be excessive at times, especially during peak customer hours. We were unable to take the tour as have to book ahead. Grounds were beautiful and you have to have there famous date shakes! Well worth it.
