Took our grand kids there over the summer. What a wonderful place for the "younger" kids (3-6 years old) The entire place is set up to give them a good experience. Wide variety of inter-active rides all geared for smaller children....well worth a few hours of your time.
This is a fun little amusement park for younger kids. The target audience is preschoolers and early grade schoolers. If your kids are older than 8 or 9, they probably will find it a little to basic. Also, while the name may imply that it is a water park or pool, it isn't. In all, it is a fun place for little kids and well worth the price of admission.
This is a great local place for children. There are several rides and activities for kids to do. Kids on the upper end of the recommended age range may find it a little boring.
We organized a B-day Party for our daughter and all our guests liked a lot. I definitely recommend this place for kids.
My kids have outgrown this place but they're still willing to go to help out with their younger cousins. We've had a lot of fun memories here! This place is geared for kids 8 and under. Older kids won't really enjoy it and won't be able to fit on many of the rides. There is a bounce house, hand-run train, conductor run train, several slides, a playground, a rock climbing wall, paddle boats and a carousel. There is also a huge pirate ship where you can eat lunch (either bring your own or buy something from their limited menu). They often have shows on their (small) stage or various art projects if you need a break. We've never waited in line for a long time and everyone has always been courteous.Definitely worth a visit, your kids will enjoy it.
I remember coming here in the 80s when I was young and the 90s with my oldest when he was little. As I have aged, so has this park. The park district has done a great job keeping it clean and safe, it's just aging. I was excited to bring my two younger kids with me (4 and 11 yrs old). Upon entering the girl I gave my tickets to, told me since my older guy is big I wouldn't have to pay for him, but he could still try and do some rides. My four year old loved the park and the rides they had. The employees were very good about letting my older child go on the boats, train, and carousel, which was very nice. The only thing that really, really bothered me is the other parents. A lot of the other children lacked supervision and constantly cut in line. One child went on the rock climbing wall 5 times in a row before anyone said anything to him. They have a tiny food stand (or you can bring your own), but be prepared to eat ice cold food. The chicken tenders and fries had been sitting for a looooong time. The bathrooms were comparable to a rest stop bathroom- dirty. Will I go back, yes but only because I still have the extra ticket.
We took 5 kids...6,6,5,4 & 3....it was perfect. Small park so not a lot of walking required and it was really well maintained. If I lived there I would buy season passes.
My four kids (8, 6, 3, 3) loved this place. It was great for them to run around. It's not very big and there weren't a whole lot of people when we went so the kids could go on several rides many times without waiting in line. Staff is all friendly and helpful with the smaller kids. My older boys loved the rock-climbing wall especially. Great price to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 4pm.
It's someplace you can take your young grandchildren for fun based on them!!you only pay for the children- adults are freeage group for children are 1 thru 9rides are hands on- from hand paddle boats to hand powered train carsslides of all sizes from little minis to riding down on burlap all kinds of things to climb on including climbing a mountainyou can bring your own food or buy from there and eat in picnic areasplenty of shade to be found.it's well maintained and run wellgreat fun for all.
Pirate`s Cove is a great place for golfing, go karts, a water park, and much more. Makes a great weekend family outing. Go soon!
Haven't been there in years, but I have great memories. Affordable fun for the kids. Great rides. Great picnic areas.
I love that you don't need to pay for adults! It is rather small but for the cost I think it is worth it. You can spend 1 hour and you would have been on every ride or you can stay a little longer and do things again and again!
