Our 7th annual trip to Key Lime Cove was just what the family wanted for Christmas. My husband and I give a weekend to our kids and grandkids, 17 in all, as their Christmas gifts. Great rooms, food, game room, activities, ice cream parlor, coffee shop and so much more. There is a spa for kids and another for adults. You can stuff a new pet and find treasures in the gift shops. There is a pizza parlor, hotdog shop and for the adults, a Tiki Bar. This is a perfect place for grandparents, parents and of course the kids Ours are aged 4 to 15 years and there is something for each of them.

This is a great place to go with your kids my wife and our kids just went for the first time. It was a great time, we stayed Monday thru Wednesday the place was not crowed and very clean. Life guards are very good always on alert. I have read reviews previous to going about bad experience on the weekend so I was a little skeptical about going, this is why we went when we did I to avoid the crazy crowds on the weekend. The hotel room was nice and clean, I did read a review about the walls being thin, this is very true our neighbor were loud and up almost all night. Other than that great place.

Perfect for my whole family. Very clean and safe. 10 yr old and 7 year old sons had so much fun. Lots to do for both of them and Mom and Dad too.

If you're searching for a unique and memorable kid birthday party, try KeyLime Cove. It offers a great deal of a 5-kid party for $225, very decent, which includes 4 hours at the park, a pizza meal, cake, & time at the arcade. I got the exact same party for my now 6 & 8 year old boys. They loved it, felt very special, and their friends just raved afterward. Beware though, while the end result was wonderful, there are reasons I didn't give 5 stars. The small details got away from my party coordinator, like the wrong party favor was given at one party. Also one woman never put an "on-vacation" message on her voicemail so I left some messages that went unanswered for days. And the day before the event, when no one called, I reached out, specified and repeated what I wanted, and then the coordinator who was actually assisting at my party didn't know any of it and I had to repeat everything. Below my tips if you're going to do a 5-kid party there and you have two adults who are handling the event. That's a pretty good ratio. More kids/fewer adults I think is best for older kids (10+) who are excellent swimmers. BEFORE GETTING TO WATERPARK-Order adult lunch ahead of time. Look at online menu for DW Anderson or have coordinator email you the actual menu. When we went through menu at restaurant and finally decided what we wanted the first time, the kids had all eaten and we were scarfing down our food. -Bring 3 large bags, the kind that are spacious enough to gather up all the coats and clothes. Bags should be 13-gallon size or bigger. Otherwise, if you're a better leader than I, you can get the kids to keep track of their stuff while they're pumped and highly distracted - NOT!-Bring several smaller/grocery size plastic bags for any guest that didn't bring his own bag for his clothes. DROPOFFHave driver drop off guests at main entrance. A coordinator meets you at main entrance. Non-driving adult can lead children to DW Anderson's for a meal. ARCADE CARDSThe staff at arcade counter will have a Sharpie marker. Initial each card to mark who it belongs to. We didn't do this 1st time around, cards were abandoned and it was tough to figure out who went with which card when they're all the same. Plus some kids had acquired a lot more credits, so knowing who has which card is a big deal to the kids. CHANGING CLOTHES BEFORE SWIMMINGThis is the point of SECOND most confusion (the first is when they get back into clothes). DIRECT EACH BOY TO PUT HIS SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR IN HIS SHOES AND PLACE SHOES & CLOTHES IN BAG HE OR YOU BROUGHT. This makes a huge difference on the back end, when kids are getting dressed after swimming. Then you can just dole out the bags. Since the party is small, boys can easily figure out which bag is theirs. Also it eliminates the stray underwear, which was an issue at our party for our younger son, ewwww. All the smaller bags can then be placed in larger bag. RECOMMENDEDTo make it much easier to keep track of boys while they're in park, we had them all wear fluorescent yellow swim shirts. It made a huge difference. If all guests are strong swimmers, then this isn't as necessary. But having the boys stick out in the crowds made it less stressful for the adults during the the time in the Waterpark. EXTRA ARCADE TIMEOur older boy liked the arcade more than the Waterpark, so we bought additional cards for the end of the party. The arcade has a great family deal for $40. The five guests got enough credits to give them another 30 minutes of game time.DEPARTUREAs boys figure out what prizes to get for their credits (BEWARE THIS CAN TAKE AS LONG AS 15 MINUTES), driver should gather up belongings of party (don't forget extra cake in fridge--one party we did!) and take to car. Then when other adult leads boys out, driver can be pulled up to entrance and kids can get curbside service. SNACK FOR DRIVE HOMEAs I predicted as soon as we entered the car, the calls of "I'm thirsty" and "I'm hungry" began. Good to have snacks (birthday boys both selected Goldfish) and bottles of water for ride home. Think about it - it is a long, fun-filled day. Makes sense the little guys would be hungry after 4+ hours at the park.

We have been twice now, and enjoyed both visits. This is not the best indoor waterpark we've visited, but it's the only one in the Chicago area and it's definitely fun. The hotel is very clean. There are a lot of food choices (though none are all that sophisticated) -- it's designed for "on the go" dining between water slides. This resort lacks some of the features we're used to at places like Great Wolf Lodge, Wilderness in the Smokies, and Kalahari -- but the kids had a fantastic time.

I loved unlimited access to the water park during our stay. The only downside was not being able to bring our family dog.
