Inexpensive, unpretentious summer theater in a rural setting. The building is nothing fancy, but the shows are almost always well-selected and performers quite good.

I love timberlake! They always put on a great show. The actors are always on point and fabulous. Great for a date or a night out with friends.

It's hard to believe that such a small town can foster such an excellent theater experience - but it does! Summer after summer for many years, Timberlake performers delight the audiences with serious plays, musicals and revues. Well-done!

Young Frankenstein is a must see! We laughed so hard, we almost cried.The special effects are good (some also funny--it's a farce)... All of the main characters were played by very good actors. And the monster? Who couldn't love him? He stoled the show!TLP is up-close and personal. There's not a bad seat in the house. The woodland setting for this summer stock theater is perfect, too.If you haven't been to TLP, go now to see/hear "Puttin" on the Ritz". This play is quintessential entertainment--with no apologies.

Good old fashioned fun summer theater in a great setting;. Marvelous talent and great fun. Don't miss it!

I saw my very first play here as a child, and absolutely fell in love with it. The Playhouse is surrounded by nature a few miles outside the quiet town of Mt. Carroll, but what happens inside is anything but small town. People come from across the country to work and perform at Timber Lake through the season...and the quality performances they give shows that it is there passion. I've never been to a bad show here!

Only 2 1/2 hrs away from Chicago Timberlake Playhouse in Mt. Carroll,Illinois is a hidden gem.You would think you were at a play in downtown Chicago or one of the neighboring professional theaters.You will be surprised by how professional the productions are.Talent from all over the country come to act,sing and dance for the summer months.I highly recommend seeing one of their shows.
