Have been there umpteen number of times. My kids love the exploration adventure. They normally spend an hour or two draining off their energies there. The arcade has lots of games, tokens are less compared to the other places mostly ones and two's which is good, worthwhile prizes for the tickets which you win at the arcade. Bought a dolphin 3D photo frame which still decks the wall in my room. Got it as a gift from my kids. Overall a fun place, not giving a 5 rating as they can improve on their cleanliness a bit. But definitely a must see in the suburbs.
We had my son's 2nd birthday party here today. I was very skeptical because of all of the bad reviews. I was very pleased and happy with our experience. Our server Myra was so much help and very attentive. Didn't kick us out of the room right at the 90 min mark...gave us extra time to gather things and finish up. I had kids from 6 months to 13 and each and everyone of them had a blast. I only payed for the exploration bands so I cannot comment on how the rides or Lazer tag is. The exploration room was fantastic. Felt safe cause if we lost a kid for a moment we knew they couldn't be out of the area cause you have to be buzzed out with an adult. Arcade was great. If tickets didn't come out an employee fixed it and used a few of their own tokens to give a few extra tickets which was really nice. All the staff was nice..not one bad thing to say there. The robot musicians were a bit lacking...they didn't really open their eyes..but kids still enjoyed them. In all it was a great experience and I know we will be back!
I give The Zombie Hayride ZERO STARSWe had a group of 12 and Groupons, the attendant scanned our Groupons then told us "Oh just to let you know it a 2.5 hour wait"7:38pm -We started in line outside the first tent. It's like waiting in line for the Eagle at Great America, but the line doesn't move. Each line outside the first tent was about 20 minutes. 9:00pm we made it to the first tent. Inside the first tent was 3 more winding lines, another 1hr:15min. 10:15pm - We were led to a line between the two tents, and stayed there for about 15 min. We were told that once we went inside the 2nd, smaller tent that we would be on the next tractor with a 15min, wait. NOT TRUE. Either the employees can't tell time, or they are just deceiving people.Once we got in the second tent, there were 4 designated tractor lines we waited 30 minutes. !1:00pm- We finally made it on the tractor. The Zombies looked tired and were barely moving, just swaying side to side. When my 8 yr. old son and 11 yr. old cousin picked up their gun, the paint ball pellets spilled out, because whomever refilled them, didn't snap the container shut. There was a location where they try get you to waste another $5 for more paintball pellets I told the employee what happened and she reluctantly refilled their guns without charge after I had our escort to verify what happened. She still didn't give my son many.We did have a great Z.E.R.T. escort Sgt. Hiccup. He tried to make it fun by having the kids clapping and singing "We Will Rock You" they changed it to "We Will Shoot You" but when we arrived back at the start location the other employees were staring at him, Sgt. Hiccup, with venom in their eyes as they were rushing us off the tractor saying" we don't have time for that, we have to load the next group.....WE HAD JUST STOPPED!!! We had a group of 12 and we will not be back, this was a RIP OFF and poorly executed.Zombie Hayride lasted abt 15-20minsWe arrived at 7:30 and left at 11:30. This was the worst experience. We were told it was a 2.5 hour wait, we waited for 3:15 hours and it was only worth a 30 minute wait at $5 value. Save your money and your time. THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS IS WHEN IT WAS OVER!!!!
I worked here for a short period of time, as I was so happy to leave. This place is disgusting and they treat their employees like garbage. When the owner comes in he talks about how sad this place is, I don't get why the owner doesn't fix it. Also, the game technician is horribly mean, he has sworn at me, and many customers.
I took my young daughter, her cousins, and her grandparents here one day and I can't say that I am in a rush to go back. My daughter had fun, which I guess is the most important thing. She would probably rate this place at least a 3 or possibly 4. I thought it was overpriced and outdated, and I could tell the grandparents were disappointed that they drove so far to come here. I signed up for email coupons, which had so much fine print that we couldn't use any of them at the time. The prizes were grossly overpriced and there wasn't much there besides penny candy. I understand that they need to pay for employees and such, but $20 in tokens got about 50 cents worth of candy. As other reviews state, several of the games were not working. The employees were nice, but too few working to be of much help.
I recieved free indoor attraction bracelets from a 4th of July event and glad I had those coming in. The attractions the bracelets were for only 4 rides, one of them out of order. The arcade games were out dated, which can be fun for nestalgia gamers. The attaction that my kids were most excited for was the indoor/outdoor playgym and bounce houses, which was $9 per child, all kids had to wear socks (which I get) but parents too? even though we are not allow to climb and jump? Didn't make any sense to make parents wear socks when we are not using the attaction and sitting on the side. My kids did have a good time and want to go again, I will just be prepared next time.
We had never been here before. My son and his friends had a great time for his party. It was average in cost compared to the other places I called. As a parent, it looked dirty and needs a facelift. The kids didn't seem to notice. Our server was nice and attentive. Everything was set up and I liked that we got our own room. I would take them back there if it was cleaner. They had a bunch if teenagers working there that looked bored out of their minds. Overall it was just OK
We went there for my friends birthday. It is very good place. My kids have grown out of chuck-e--cheese. This is a very good place for little older kids. It will cost you more than chukee too.
My first experience was walking and going to pay for the kids to go in the play area. I showed the girl my coupon that was on my phone and she said I had to have it printed out and would not honor it. I'm sorry in this day and age, get up to speed with the times. You were lucky for me to be there that day with the group I brought because it was empty. That was the start of the downhill day. We took the kids into the play area which was so gross. It was not clean, it was old, and there was an infant room that had couches that I would not rest my feet on with my shoes. I could go on and on about how this place needs major attention. I can see though they are just getting by and most likely can't put the money into the place. We did not even think about eating there and the kids did play some games but so many were not working. There was a very old guy trying to fix them but TOO LATE. We were done and will never go back! I think Chuck E Cheese is way better and I can't believe I am saying that!
We went for the zombie hayride, but were disappointed when they told us they were nolonger doing it at this location. Having bought the tickets online and not willing to drive to Tinley Park with 4 kids, we asked what could be done. They were very accomodating! They gave us a full refund along with some coins for the inconvenience. The bunch we had were all girls age 13. They used the coins but were alittle old for the games. I rocked at bowling though! I appreciate their customer service and will come back to do the paintballing next spring!
We went to the pumpkin patch across from fun world. Lots to do for the grand kids and not real expensive. They not only got to pick pumpkins but also loved petting the animals.
This review is based on my experience at their Tinley Park location. My kids and I recently went on the Zombie Safari Hayride at Odyssey Fun World's Fun Farm. Unfortunately I can not recommend this attraction. The concept of this hayride is unique, a ride through a cornfield where zombies “attack” the wagon and must be repelled by shooting them with paintball guns mounted on turrets, but suffered from extremely poor execution! Odyssey usually delivers a fun family experience but totally dropped the ball on this one. We arrived slightly after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday 10/6. There is plenty of parking but be prepared to park in an unpaved farm field. The first line we encountered was at the ticket booth. Only two employees were manning the kiosk and it took 20 minutes to purchase our tickets. Once inside we headed for the hayride line figuring we would hit the Corn Maize (Maze) on the way out. We never mad it through the maze because it took so long for the hayride. The line for the hayride was very long but I was hoping it would move somewhat quickly. It did not. After standing in line over 3 hours we finally boarded the hay wagon around 11:15 p.m. Be prepared to wait! The problem was that they only had two tractor/wagons operating. They really need a minimum of four. The first wagon would arrive and unload. The employees would then reload the guns with paintballs and swap out the CO2 tank which took some time before boarding the next group. The second wagon was right behind and after that one departed the line would not move for another 10-15 minutes until the first wagon rolled around again. When several hundred people are in line, this makes for a loooong wait!Security was practically nonexistent. Because of the long wait time many families were getting out of line to buy snacks and use the restroom and then would reenter the line where they originally were. This lead to a chaotic situation. I witnessed one family blatantly trying to cut in near the front of the line. An argument erupted and the lone security guard had to be called to settle the situation. Although smoking is not allowed (dry grass, dry straw, and a dry cornfield make for a dangerous combination) many were flouting the rule and their seemed to be no one to enforce it.The ride itself lasted about 15 minutes but much of the time was spent driving around the hayfield and not firing the paintball gun which is why you came. Actual time spent shooting at targets (some of which aren't even "live" zombies) was about 1 minute. Most of the target areas were in the dark with a single zombie hiding behind an obstacle. Because it was dark, there was no way to see if you even hitting what you were shooting at. The last target area is lit and featured two zombies. This was the most fun because you could actually see your paintballs hitting the zombies. Unfortunately it only lasted for about 20 seconds. I have to give the employees in the wagons credit, they did a good job in their roles as soldiers leading the “zombie eradication team” and placed a high emphasis on overall safety with the paintball guns.Perhaps changes will be made next year to expedite the long wait. More wagons and more security enforcing the rules would make for a much more family friendly experience. Until then I would urge families to avoid it or be prepared for a long wait in the cold.
The games are broken, take coins and don't give out tickets. We were supposed to have a family fun night w my 5 year old and WE ALL WERE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED AMD DISGUSTED BY THE TIME WE LEFT. Staff was not helpful nor were they nice in any way. Would never go back!!!!
My kids got invited to a party here once. Don't enter with a headache. I guess the kids love the lights and color and sounds. I thought it was overkill. Lots for kids to do. But very large place. Easy to lose your children for awhile. Too many people in a closed building.
This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The ball pit was ripped, metal exposed, full of dirt. Holes in the walls. I left right away.
