Stayed 2 nights, great spacious room and comfortable bed. Can't wait to come back. Only bad thing I can say is that finding the correct room can be difficult. Hint: doors to the corridors are to the side of the buildings. (Put numbers on the outside of the buildings with arrows to the doors)
Great easy place to stay - be sure to ask for the "newer" area - older rooms smell musty. Rooms large and comfortable. Great restaurant, food, and customer service. Nice Sunday Brunch. Close to everything and Crystal River.
this place offers catering for weddings and other affairs ...I would recommend you plan elsewhere ... This is my second time here for an event and BOTH times the only memory your guests will have is that the small banquet room is hot .. very uncomfortably warm the entire time , they offer the very bare minimum , I have no qualms about paying for mixed drinks but they're expensive according to size and they charge kids 3 bucks for a glass of soda which is a half a can , when I barked the manager quickly offered 1 free refill ...Wow thanks sport ..3.00 for a whole can of soda ... Your guests will get upset just as most were at both events,The food is very good however ...good food can be had at a place that's not over charging them for drinks and is willing to keep the room comfortable in the warm Florida climate.....I would not recommend for a party
Plantation Inn is clean and nicely redecorated since I last visited 10 years ago. The rooms do have a mini fridge. The staff is friendly and alway ready with a recommendation for a meal or a local beach trip. The in house restaurant was expensive, with entrees around $20, I am guessing that is where the fridge comes in handy. I paid about $150 for a Saturday night stay at the tail end of manatee season. Plantation Inn offers scuba and manatee tours from their docks ..scallopping starts in July. They do have a heated pool and tiki bar which I did use and a golf course that I did not.
This is the perfect place to stay if you are eager to go on a manatee adventure! The Plantation Inn is conveniently located especially if you book a tour with Manatees in Paradise. We were warmly greeted at check-in. Our room was quite clean and just right for our needs. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub as well as the heated pool. A real plus was going out on a manatee watch the day before our swim with these incredible creatures. The pontoon ride started at the dock/marina that is right on site. That's where we had our first of many encounters with the manatees. The next day we had a delicious buffet breakfast at the Plantation before heading to our manatee tour. How nice it was to be able to extend our check-out time by an hour to accommodate our need to shower after snorkeling with the manatees. I highly recommend the Plantation!
We travelled all over Florida the week of Dec 22nd through Dec 31st, 2014. We stayed at all sorts of places and this was our favorite of them all. First off, the customer service was top notch, the employees always made us feel special. Secondly, the rooms had the quietest air conditioning units of any the hotels we visited - even better than one of the super pricey hotels. Thirdly, we loved all the activities that were available to us there, shuffleboard, sand volleyball, pool/Jacuzzi and especially the marina where we went snorkeling with the manatees! Again, the employees were top notch and very professional and genuinely nice! During the holidays that is really saying a lot. I'd stay here again anyday! :) Thank you for the great family visit during the holidays!
This was our first time here. First trip in awhile as a family and it was great. Rooms are clean but kind of dated. Wish the tv were more up to date with pay per view and such. After long days at the heated pool and the next one swimming with manatees! Yes tons! Better tv options are needed for a tired young family. Our favorite part was the manatee tour with Capt. Jeff! He was excellent, knowledgable, great with my younger kids (6,9)--as it took the 6 yo a bit to get adapted to the colder (but still fine) waters and the snorkle. Even with lesser numbers in he springs and busy waterways (as this is the manatee season here), the trip, stay, hotel and most especially the boat captain and guide were BEYOND worth it!! We probably saw 10 in the springs and 30+ heading out to feed.We will be back with more people and we will request Captain Jeff again. During the winter he leads manatee tours and summers he leads personal scalloping trips for bay scallops. We somehow even lucked into our own boat so it was just the five of us. THANK YOU CAPTAIN JEFF!! Don't forget that analogy we told ya peace out!
This my second stay here and it was different than our last one. Some pluses and minuses. First, we got a crazy good price on the room from Priceline so that was the deciding factor. When we arrived we agreed to a room change and were placed in the very last building. The options to get to the main building were walking through the other buildings or walking outside. Having done both I realized that our building smelled less clean and fresh than the others. We were t here for almost a week and it was a quiet stay. I slept GREAT. They have the best blackout curtains I've ever seen! I ate at the restaurant most nights. The food was good, a tad pricey for what I wanted but it was always fresh and the service was decent. There were locals here who spoke highly of the food and service.
This was our second visit to the Plantation inn. We love the quaint atmosphere and southern charm. The rooms are very large, clean and decorated well. A great value!
The location was on a very active fishing river with Manatees. The pool, shuffleboard, horse games were available for good old fashioned fun. The rooms were a bit dated but we're clean with all the needed amenities snorkeling ,fishing and kyacking trips were available right on the grounds.
This seems to be the fancy option in town, but the price was very reasonable. Room was very clean, nice toiletries etc, great comfy beds, fast internet, hot tub by the pool for those chilly nights, awesome! The golf course is great too, nice setting between all the mossy trees, and $20 p/p for 9 holes including everything! Would definitely come again.
Stayed 3 days, Nov. 2014, warm and breezy days by the river, sipping drinks by the pool (Tiki bar outside service), comfy rooms, and excellent restaurant. We often escape the cold weather north of here by coming to the Plantation Inn for a few days. Friendly staff, too. Lovely setting, and elegant atmosphere. Dive shop, manatees, river boat rides, kayaks, and a spa make this a perfect resort. (We don't golf, but they have a large golfing clientele as well.)
I love to stop and enjoy a cocktail in the lounge before dinner. The menue is excellent and the food does not disappoint you
We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel could use a little updating but overall nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The manatee tour is a must at this place. Really the main reason to stay here and if you like to golf. The grounds are pretty. Looks just like a plantation. And location is close to the downtown area. Would stay here again.
We spent a week here with our kayak group. We had a lovely room. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Dinner was delicious. The pool is very pretty with a view of the Crystal River. Best of all we can launch our kayaks from the Inn's grounds into the Crystal River and paddle out to see manatees and to the Three Sisters Spring. This is the fourth year we have spent a week at the Inn.
