THis was the worst experience going to a concert which is supposed to bring you joy and happiness brought nothing but stress and aggrivation. . I paid $50 for VIP parking which when attempted to enter was told it was full and was directed to the General Parking 5 blocks down the road. THis took 2 hours in traffic and when we arrived had to wait an hour for the shuttle bus which took another 2 hours in traffic to go back to the venue.By the time we got there the concert was almost over so we left. I still have my unused concert tickets. I tried to call ticketmaster but the only thing they sais they MIGHT be able to refund the parking. There has to be recourse on this so PLEASE CALL TICKETMASTER TO COMPLAIN SO THERE CAN BE RECOURSE. IF ENOUGH OF US CALL PERHAPS WE HAVE A CHANCE
The Donald has done it again. The $250 million renovation is gold leaf and palms trees and other plants. The man has ringed the course in a wall of green right up to people's backdoors around the "four" golf courses. I guess he doesn't want anyone to see him cheating while playing golf. It is so much, it is insulting. Hope the neighbors put up "Wind Farms" next to get even with him. As for the golf, he has thrown in a bunch of sand traps around all he greens and made the greens roller coasters. Expect 3-4 putts. He also jacked up the rates. Guess he has to for the "gold plated" bathroom fixtures in restrooms out on the course. But none of his fake "Corinthian" columns...yet. It will be interesting how long he will hold on to this place before it goes belly up like it did for Paulson. The place is empty in March. Thought it would be packed with people from Boston trying to escape their Ice Age Winter. A better experience is Crandon Golf Course on Key Biscayne if you want a real good experience.
Played the Golden Palm on 3/9/15. Staff was nice. From that on not so good. We paid $250 each plus tax and were expecting good things for that kind of money. We had the first tee time out and had to wait for starter who was late. He then informs us that it is cart path only. Carts have GPS which is useless with ball in fairway. They were mowing course all around us and the fairways were completely clumped grass. From the tee box you could barely tell where the fairway was. The bathrooms on the course were closed which is probably why they don't have any drinking water on course. They also don't have any ball washers??? We probably should have asked for money back and left when informed of cart path only but being on vacation just decided to give it a go. Big mistake! Save your money and find another local course to play.
This concert was the most dis-organized event I have ever attended. It was a disaster from the beginning. We arrive at the parking lot at 5:00PM as directed and were immediately charged $20 to park when it was advertised for $10. The secThe general admission area was approx 100 yards from the stage and those tickets could not see the concert since a large structure was erected in the middle blocking the view. Fortunately our VIP seats were fine except for the constant on & off rainurity was a nightmare with the rules changing every 5 minutes. We were allowed to bring umbrellas but no blankets, purses bigger than 6"x6".. . We had to leave purses in the our car and boarded the shuttle bus to the concert. The bus did not know how to get there, we rode around for 40 minutes and then were finally dropped off. We only had to walk 1/2 mile to the concert. The opening acts played for over 2 1/2 hours. Concert start time was 7 PM and Santana did not come on until almost 10:30 People were leaving the concert and the mood was not good. The high point of the concert was leaving the concert. Since Donald Trump was the project manager, DONALD, YOU'RE FIRED.I willnever attend a Trump function ever again. A complete rip off.
Horrible, awful!!I am an enthusiast music lover and what could have been a wonderful experience turned out into a bit of a nightmare. Carlos Santana, been a big fan since I was 6 or 7 years old. Night of the concert is raining, friends and I know that this is an open venue, we were supposed to have seats but we wanted to get there early. Concert, as per the ticket states that event starts at 7 PM. We get to the designated parking area(about 4-5 blocks away) at about 5:45 PM; we were supposed to be taken by shuttle buses to where the concert was going to be held. The closest parking lot was charging $50.00 and with a reservation. We parked, asked one of the parking attendants were the buses were, he did not know. We start walking, then get to where there were about 5-6 buses, and waited for about 20 minutes under the rain to “board one of these buses” but no one showed up. Finally a kind driver stopped and told us that we needed to walk about another mile to be picked up. So we walked some more. Then we get to the "security" screening area before boarding the buses. The rudest, nastiest guy starts walking around the line telling people that blankets, big bags and "handbags" of a certain size are not allowed (mind you, mine was small for practicality) and that he was not going to allow us to board the bus and we needed to take them back to the car, as simple as that, "I won't let you board a bus, this is a Trump event and this is different." There was no posting of these rules anywhere, not on the tickets, not anywhere to be seen. So our choice again, walked back to the car, risking that it could be broken into since a lot of people had to take purses and other things to the car. We finally get to the place of the concert, 7:10 PM. Right at the entrance after they scanned the tickets, "Oh, BTW, are you aware that Carlos Santana starts playing at 10 PM? WTH!!! I saw him last year at the casino resort in Hollywood and the wait has never been this long. Whatever..... We walked in, then we see people with blankets, backpacks and I even saw a few chairs. Helloooooo. Started looking for "our AMEX designated area” yeah, right. If you did not get VIP you were totally screwed. For the rest of the people, including my friends and me, though luck. See if you can find a spot where you might be able to catch a glimpse of the stage, as someone had the brightest idea to block the view with concession stands in the middle. Thank you very much!!! We were wet, with nothing to sit on and unable to view the stage. By the time Carlos Santana started playing at 9:50 we were beat, 12 of us. We stayed there until about 11 PM, did not want to stay till the end to avoid the crowd leaving. I have never been to a more disorganized concert venue. Very disrespectful to the people attending. Will never go back there.
I am surprised that Trump is willing to put his name on such a pedestrian course. First the course is a good 10 minute golf cart ride away from the main building. You leave the main resort and cross a golf cart bridge to the first tee. The course runs through very modest condos--it's not the least bit attractive. Very little infrastructure over there--as others have noted the bathrooms are porta potties. And they were GROSS inside. I'm in the "there are no bad golf courses" school, but Silver Fox is not close to being worth the greens fees they are charging. (I paid $175). If you are at Doral, I'd pay the extra $$ to play one of the real Doral courses. On the plus side, the starter and the drinks cart person were both really nice and helpful.
The old Blue Monster has been redone by team Trump. The course is much tougher and slightly unfair. The test is worth it though. To play where the pros play in great conditions is worth being humiliated by all the water. Enjoy.
My husband and I paid $200 each to play the Silver Fox course. For starters, the course had just been redone so it was cart path only which nobody told us when we booked. It was also not yet included on GPS (they are waiting to be evaluated) so that didn't work either. At least you can say those were a temporary situations. However, the course is a neighborhood course near the main Doral resort which they bought and have rebranded as a Doral course. When you play, you drive 7-10 minutes away from the main resort, through the other courses for much of it so you're trying to avoid people teeing off, then across a city street, and into what is clearly a separate housing development. The surrounding homes range from average to downright ugly. And the only bathrooms are two porta-potties on the 3rd and 10th holes. In all it feels very much like playing a ClubCorp course or some other mid-range golf course, and not nearly as enjoyable as most of those. It's certainly not a course that should command top dollar. It's a total waste of money if you care about anything other than buying a shirt in the pro shop and pretending to your friends that you actually golfed at Doral.
I was at a charity event that was excellent. What made it even better was the great service from Ana Tijo who was serving our table. Great job and thank you.
Four of us paid the twilight rate of $150 each to play the Golden Palm course and were very dissapointed. There is a lot of construction going on at Doral which we didn't consider an adequate excuse for the haphazard service we received. The system of dropping off clubs and finding our carts was unorganized and confusing. It was cart path only for no apparent reason, which we did not learn about until teeing off. One of our carts did not have a working GPS and we were told afterwards "you must have had a ranger cart and we don't know how that happened". The cards were temporary and wrong on some yardages and our own Garmins seemed to be for another course. We found out after teeing off on the 18th that we were on the wrong hole because they had switched holes with another course without telling us, putting up a sign, or marking it on the card. When we complained afterward, we were told the course was newly reconfigured. One staffer in the pro shop turned away and the other admitted that maybe they were letting people out too soon. This course was very overpriced for the conditions and location (lots of noise from nearby traffic and overhead planes taking off from the Miami International Airport). We have played at many golf resorts and this was our worst experience. We will not go back to Trump Doral.
We played the Red Tiger and the Golden Palm and they were OK. Not in great shape as many guests dont repair ball marks or throw sand in divots. For price, and we got a break due to the school rate, value was poor. Much better value golfing Arizona, even Vegas.
I recently stayed at Trump and I must say it is a beautiful property! The food is very good and the service was beyond splendid everywhere I went. This hotel is an amazing getaway in the heart of Doral FL with many shopping malls and restaurants nearby. The rooms were very clean and I found everything I needed because the staff was very helpful. Particularly, Christina Cook on the housekeeping staff was very helpful and attentive while being very kind to my younger son and I. One of the nights at the hotel, I had to rush to a meeting but my son's shirt was wrinkled so I decided to call housekeeping and tell them that I was in a rush and needed an ironing service, they told me they do not do ironing only services which kind of disappointed me but Christina was a great great help in this aspect. She was assigned to clean my room at the time I needed my son's shirt to be ironed, I asked if she would be able to ask someone to iron but she gladly offered to do it herself which was very kind of her. Aside from the ironing, which came out very nicely, she did an amazing job at leaving my room spotlessly clean. The room was even cleaner then when I came in, 5 stars to Ms Christina Cook. If you ever stay at Trump National, make sure to ask for Christina Cook as housekeeper because she does an exceptional job and is very kind. Overall, I had a nice time at Trump I will definitely be coming again!
The hotel is a beautiful place and the service is very good, specially the personal from the reception and the housekeeping Christina Cook; they are very warming people and they compromise with the objective that your stay will be very pleasing
Service at this resort was excellent, particularly in the Pritikin program, which is outstanding. Christina Cook on the Trump housekeeping staff stands out as very helpful, including keeping me supplied with Nespresso refills. Everyone was very attentive.
If you are a golfer, you have to play the Blue Monster.... What a course! When you imagine the tour players hit from the blacks, it drops your jaw!! I consider to be a somewhat long hitter and I look like a fool on this course! Congrats Mr. Trump.
