We went here because our favorite spot Peanut Island was packed, and we were pleasantly surprised. It's a great family beach, clean, not too crowded, showers, nice restrooms, plenty of parking. We didn't stay long because it started to rain but I'd love to go back.
Enjoy all of the water sports and park in one location and it's Free. In the heart of Riviera. Beach/ West Palm Beach this hidden treasure has a large park and BBQ area that's nice for parties. Right Next door people are paying $300 a night for the same beach. So Come and enjoy.
This is a wonderful, free beach with plenty of parking, restrooms, showers and easy to walk path all the way to the sand. There is plenty of room on the beach(watch out for the clearly marked turtle nests) and my family had a wonderful time while we were there. There were lifeguards and although I had never been there before, I felt totally comfortable and safe. The other beach-goers were friendly. There were many families at the beach with young children while we were there, so I do not recommend this beach to people who want to avoid children. If I find myself in West Palm again, I will go back to Ocean Reef Park.
Uncrowded beach, lifeguards, safe. Security officers present. Snorkeling directly offshore. Lots of parking. Shaded BBQ areas but get there early if your planning a party. Nice, large, clean bathrooms.
Absolutely love this beach. We live on the west coast of Florida and rarely get to visit the east coast. Have travelled to Cocoa, Daytona, and Miami, but this spot definitely takes the cake. Parking was free and there were plenty of spots. This spot is nestled among many high rise condos and hotels (Marriot, Hilton). We walked to the Marriot about a 1/4 mile down the beach for drinks and food. The beach was clean and beautiful. We will be back!
Just to the north of the beautiful new Riviera Municipal beach is Ocean Reef Park. Lots of free parking and restrooms and only a short hike on a wide path through the mangroves to the beach. It's reasonably wide and clean. Its different because of the reef which pokes through the sand out into the ocean. At low tide the rollers break into large plumes of spray. Very cool. Watch out for hidden rock at high tide when swimming.
great parking for this public beach. clean restrooms. they do have life guards on duty. beautiful beach. got to do some good shelling and saw stingrays and turtles ! it was great
Clean...friendly. ...free parking..Showers...Just really nice public beach. Most of the hotels are upper end.....the public beach mirrors the populous. Definitely my favorite east coast florida beach.
This grid of rock piles 100 yards out from the beach has attracted lots of life, mostly fish, but it's still young. Easy dive for beginners, not more than 20' depth. Viz was decent, maybe 40'. Almost no current, even though it was between tides. Park behind strip mall at the bend in Ocean Ave just behind Pura Vida Dive Shop.
Did some snorkeling and the water was very clear. Did not have the fish of Peanut Island, but saw some nice fish. The water had a stronger current, but could still did OK. It is a nice place and has free parking and many picnic tables.
Driving along the big hotels and expensive real estate it was hard to believe that there was free public beach tucked in there, but there was! Free parking, a life guard, showers, bathroom, not crowded (on a Monday in August). It was a little windy, so the snorkeling was difficult, but not impossible. We did see a ray and some little fish. Some kids saw a big turtle. The sand is HOT, so flip flops or something are very helpful!
Small reef is very close to shore. Depending on time of year and weather, more or less marine life - we've seen rays, squid, lobsters, tarpon, needlefish, lizardfish, barracuda, snook, and more along with all the expected colorful reef fish. We usually do not need flippers, though sometimes it's currenty. Plentiful free parking. Fresh water outdoor showers. Indoor public bathroom. Grills and picnic tables on grassy area between parking lot and sandy beach. Has a lifeguard. We live nearby and have gone too many times to count - we love it there!
The place for you to relax and rest with beautiful view and ocean breeze. It was not too crowed. You can bring your food along and take a nap there.
This is a great beach if you have kids. You can snorkel, explore the rocks, play at the park or just lay out. The parking is free. There are life guards on duty, bathrooms and showers.
My wife and I used to live in Palm Beach Gardens and would drive to Ocean Reef Park often to enjoy the beach. It features clean batherooms/changing rooms with outside showers , life guards, a park area with grills and picinic tables and plenty of parking. Best of all there is a rock reef very close to the beach full of fish to snorkel around . On this trip I took my boys snorkling for their first time in the ocean. We saw parrot fish, lots of small reef fish, a sting ray and a young barracuda. The boys are hooked on snorkling now something that is a passion of mine.
