Reptile World Serpentarium is AWESOME!! George, his wife and the staff there are great with the snakes and do a wonderful job of telling and showing people how they run their amazing operation to harvest snake venom. George has years of experience and it shows when you see the exciting venom show up close and personal. The snake exhibits are beautiful and they have the best venomous snake displays around.

To look at the Reptile World Serpentarium exterior you'd think, "oh another ho-hum snake farm" but nothing could be further from the truth. This Serpentarium, is loaded with fun, excitement, and and loads of useful information. I've never seen so many different types of snakes in one place, not to mention the turtle, the alligators, and the many varieties of turtles. This was one of most interesting sites in central Florida. Don't miss it when visiting the Disney area.

Moving to Florida, my husband felt that I needed to know about local snakes as I walk the dog daily and need to know about what is out there. I hate snakes, they make me scream! I went and was pleasantly surprised. The snakes are behind glass, but the most interesting thing was the extraction of the venom which is done at certain times during the day. Very educational and well worth the money, and fear.

Not much to say without ruining it. But this place is awesome. I loved seeing snakes I'd never see in real life, like the Huge King Cobra. Fun fact the doors to the snake pens wear only the staff have access have no locks so in theory a snake could push it open kinda scary. Make sure you pet the old dog that sleeps in the gift shop;)

We went to the Serpentarium having passed it on several visits to Florida on our way to the Beach.It was a great short trip, really fascinating to learn about the venom milking process and how anti venom is produced.George and his assistant Rosa 'milked' several snakes and we also had the unexpected treat of a wild local snake paying a visit to see the show.The venom milking is definitely the highlight but you also get the chance to see a variety of snakes, some turtles, alligators and various lizards.A great short trip.

The Serpentarium is a working venom farm with hundreds of snakes. Venom collection is viewed up close. Very close. The process is absolutely fascinating. The show is also very exciting, probably for the wrong reasons. Collecting venom from deadly snakes is dangerous. The venom is sent away for processing into anti-venom, saving dozens of lives every year.Afterward, there are opportunities to get pics with some of the local celebrity reptiles. There is about 50 snakes on display as well as a few other reptiles. At $9 it is difficult to find a better value only 10 miles south of Orlando. Awesome experience

The reptile world has always been one of our favorite places to visit. We had our daughter's 6th bday party there and it was wonderful. The owners are so friendly. Your little ones will love it!

Very interesting place to visit . We saw the 'milking' of the venomous snakes , the owner gave us a very interesting guide as to what was going on and the reasons why they do this.It was not just a show for our benefit . It was clear they love their work

We'd never have found this if it wasn't for TripAdvisor; but, lovers of scaled things that we are, it was well-worth our visit.When we arrived, we were told they were closed for September but that we could still walk through and hold a snake. We think 'closed' to her meant 'we don't do the milking show at noon and three'.In either case, they have so many snakes, some lizards and turtles, and a rather large crocodile. The owner is very knowledgable and kind.Bottom Line:If this is your kind of thing, go!

We will make it a point to always stop by to enjoy seeing venomous snakes up close safely. It's a great low admission fee for the whole family. You can take your time to look and read about the snakes. The milking of the venom was very entertaining.

Whilst holidaying in Orlando we saw an 'infomercial' about this place on the tourist channel at the hotel. I immediately knew that we had to visit. I CANT STAND snakes but at the same time I have a bit of a fascination with them and I would really like to get over my phobia!We specifically went for the venom milking - the only other place in the world that I've read about that does this is in Bangkok, so seeing as I'm not sure when I'll get to Thailand I thought I'd make a special trip to St Cloud instead! On arrival we were told that the venom session was about to start (noon show) so we went and got ourselves settled with a good view. Before the 'show' began, George the owner came and gave a ten minute talk on the work they do at the Serpentarium and how the antivenin is made. It was REALLY interesting and his passion for snakes really showed through. He did make me realise that snakes are not waiting at every turn, ready to pounce on you and kill you! They are very frightened of humans and will do anything they can to get away from us.After his fascinating talk he proceeded to 'milk' 3 different species of snake (behind the glass of course!). It was so interesting to watch George and his assistant Rosa handling the snakes and feeding the little coral snakes especially.Once the 'milking' was over, Rosa came out with a non-venemous milk snake that people could hold for a small tip (everyone seemed to be giving a dollar each). Our son held the lovely brightly coloured snake, and then everyone was given the opportunity to hold a baby gator. Both of our kids did this (again for a small fee of $5 each).There are lots of snakes to look at outside of the 'milking' hours and there are also other reptiles such as alligators and iguanas along with other mammals and birds.If you are in the area of St Cloud I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

This was such a great find for our family. We are HUGE reptile fans, so this was a perfect place for us. We ended up going two days in a row to see the snakes getting milked. They have a great collection of snakes, some of them I've only seen on TV, like the mambas. They do great work there to help make anti venom and other medicines.

Our son lives in Saint Cloud so we visit from PA quite often. We stay for a couple of weeks and try to do some different things each time in the summer. We found Serpentarium by accident on the way to Melbourne. I googled it and yes as the name implies SNAKES!!!! Also a working facility that milks venomous snakes for their venom to be sent away and made into an anti venom for snake bites. Sounds neat so we went. Not a big place but don't let that fool you. For $8.75 per person we were able to view and read about 50 different snakes, some of the deadliest in the world, as well as a turtle preserve, lizards, gators, and parrots that talk(tell them hello.) However, the show at noon and 3 is an absolute. George the handler and Rosie milk about 8 different DEADLY snakes behind glass as we watch. OMG. Fascinating and chilling at once. A must see. Really no words to describe how powerful these snakes are and watching George and Rosie in action is AWESOME. Before the show George explains about each of the snakes that he will be milking and how venom is made into anti venom. Fascinating again!! After the show is over guess what? You get to hold a non venomous snake!!!! My Hubbie is not a fan of snakes but got a charge out of holding this Big Guy. Make sure to bring your camera. You can also hold a gator for a fee but it was the little ones who wanted to do this. A recap, amazing, cute gift shop and ask George about the time he was bitten by a deadly cobra during a show!!!! It will give you a true appreciation for what George and experts like him do everyday.

Small facility that will take you about an hour to an hour and a half to see (assuming you stop to actually look and enjoy the animals). Best part is the venom show which is held twice a day at noon and 3pm. My advice...arrive around 10:30, see everything, and then enjoy the venom show. Seriously how many places can you see a snake being milked for its venom?! Well worth the visit!! Bring quarters as they have a food machine for the turtles.
