There is a very limited variety of shops. Restaurant choices are also limited. Center could benefit from a couple of anchor stores. Parking in garage is a fee. Street parking is on a meter.
The Shops at Sunset Place have always been somewhat disappointing. I live down the street and worked in a store located in there for 5 years, so I've definitely seen everything it has to offer...which isn't much. Basically the movie theater, LA Fitness, and Forever 21 are the only things that are worth paying a visit. It's completely deserted 75% of the time, the other 25% it's overrun with loud 14-15 year-olds. It's also very, VERY run down. It seems Simon Malls(the owners) would rather invest more time and effort into Sunset's pretty older sister: Dadeland mall. Such a shame too...the property/area is prime and beautiful. Seems like such wasted potential.
I began coming to this location when I was little and it was called the Bakery Center. The mall has undergone a complete transformation, and though it attracts more business now, I would not say it is more enjoyable. It was formerly an indoor mall, but was demolished and re-designed as an outdoor mall. There was even a children's museum located inside the old indoor mall. Along with the upgrade came almost every inch of street for miles being metered by the city to scam more money from visitors. Even the nearby parks were metered to prevent mall visitors from parking there for free. Any inch of street where meters could not be put, "No Parking, Tow Away Zone" signs were planted. Visitors which don't want to drive around for hours looking for the privilege of feeding a meter can park in Sunset Place's garage for a hefty fee. I never enjoy coming to this place because every minute you spend browsing stores or walking around, you are being charged additional. That kinda ruins the experience. There's something very wrong about paying a fee just to go to a mall. So many more customers would visit without it. Don't try and park at the nearby Wendy's, as spotters will call in your car for a tow within seconds. Fools which don't mind being scammed I'm sure enjoy themselves at the pricey stores and restaurants. The Virgin Megastore, which was supposed to be the main attraction at this mall went out of business, as did the other businesses that tried to fill it's empty space. The greed of this new establishment has ruined my positive childhood memories of the location.
we love that place very quit it and nice to walk at nice place to go shooping to take pictures to eat
Formerly known as the Bakery Center, this is a shopping mall that has never been really successful. At the beginning, like everything knew, people came to experience what it had to offer. There have been several reasons for its failure. It is hard to remember all the stores and businesses that have come and gone ever since. Personally I do not like the parking garage and the access from the parking lot to the mall. Besides, why should I pay to shop? Open malls in Miami during the summer are impossible - and in Miami it is summer all year-round.
Had a great night out with friends. There was a live music performance that night of armature local artist which was quite interesting. We watched from the waterfall area while waiting for our movie start. Although it was busy there was still a sense of a relaxed atmosphere. There were a variety of stores kiosk and restaurants to check out. I would recommend it to those that just want to have a chilled night out without the hassle and fast pace mall atmosphere.
I have visited several times this place, it is a medium mall with different stores, cinemas and bookstore, it is surrounding by restaurants of diverse countries , between them from Portugal, in Miami next to this place you can find Wholefoods store, maybe the only one all over Miami area, not to many around here, I thinks it is a very nice place to visit with friend or family; you can travel by metro rail, by car very easily; some times there you can find street vendors where you can find many different kind of merchandizes , many of them very interesting, jewelry, work of arts; I like the environment of this place. it is very secure place also with security guard and police always around; it looks like movie place.Nice trip to everybodyFelipe R Valera
This is a nice little place for some quick shopping! I got everything I needed for school at two stores within like 30 minutes! The restaurants there are really good too!
in south Miami there's not so many things to do. One in a walk at this mall to get some shopping or eat crepes and ice-cream while waiting for cinema. Many cheap shops, someone with interesting pieces.
Wide variety of shops. Could be a little noisy as it has movie theaters and therefore young people hanging out.Great place
This mall has many stores and looks almost like a little village. The shopping is average with no big department stores but quaint little shops and a great movie theatre with an Imax
Nice shops, some very pricey. Very nice just to walk in an evening... Parking is a little bit hectic.
This was a treat in itself. We were within walking distance to shopping, everything was clean, great stores, everyone was nice.
ok for a short walk but shopping was awful. too many teenagers hangimg out near entrance to theatres. there are so many more interesting places to walk and shop nearby such as dadeland mall or merrick park in coral gables. there are a few restaurants here but i didnt stop for food . i dont plan on returning.
