While the design of the course is very good, the course is not up to the top standard that is suggested by many reviews and the price. The greens were not in good shape, with many unrepaired marks. Our putts bounced around like pinballs. The practice facility (which may have been temporary) was totally unacceptable. It was completely full (with 6 golfers) and my group was unable to warm up. And an instructor was hogging 2 bays with a student. He could have easily made room for one other golfer to warm up. The restaurant was pretty good. Overall service was ok. The pro shop gave us a discount to $150. This is not a $150 or $200 course.
If you think your a good golfer, love a real challenge and cant get a Tee time this is your test to find our real level of play. There's no other bigger test than a round of golf here in all of Broward
If you want to play golf, have a quick decent bite and leave, this is the place! The course is difficult, good and well maintained! The food is also average but good for what you expect of a golf course cafe! If you are looking for ambiance, there is NONE! Boring, empty and people always in a hurry... For me, that is not the "golf" day I look for.
The course, staff, facilities, and food are excellent. Anne assisted me in the pro shop. She was very courteous and made me feel welcome. The guys outside were very professional. One of the best maintained courses I have ever played. Had breakfast after my round, the food presentation was top notch. Men's locker room was clean. Private club feel to the whole place. A delightful experience. Will go back there when in south Florida.
This is a must play if you are in Hollywood Florida, greens roll beautifully and the tees and fairways are always immaculate.STAY OUT OF THE ROUGH!!
When I contacted the club to seek an "early as possible tee time" on a Sunday morning, due to later commitments, I was accommodated by the golf professional, Jeff Wilson, whose warm reception and "aim to please" attitude won my "5". Unfortunately, the course saw a few of my "5's" as well as this in truly a shot maker's tract. Lots of scenic landscapes (don't let the drive in through the community fool you) and green that you could play a PGA event on tomorrow. Well kept; well-staffed; well done!!
I was there for a two day seminar but the grounds are maintained to the highest standards. The range and practice facilities were all that I got to observe but they are in excellent condition. If you get the chance to play The Club you should.
I pull into a parking lot with 10 other cars in it. I think to myself that the weather has scared people away. I was wrong, it was the idiot pro shop and their decisions. I sit behind a five person group and finally call after waiting on every single shot. I call the pro shop to let them know. They tell me they know about it and I should just wait longer. 2 other friends drove and the group of two people waiting as well drove separately (I had time to ask them). So the only other cars in there belong to the five gentlemen playing together. The owner is in that group The whole course is empty and we have to wait on these guys. Aside from that the course has a great layout.
10 minutes from FLL. Don't let the neighborhood scare you off on the way in-it's a little "frayed"-but the golf is top notch. A once private club that now allows some outside play. Layout is wonderful. Conditions are superb. Great practice area. Can't recommend this course highly enough. Before 2PM, it's a little pricey @ $138. Twilight rate is $82 and starts at 2PM. Play is fast here, 4 hours or less.Don't use Golf Now to book. There seems to be ineffective coordination between the club and Golf Now. It just doesn't work yet. Just call the shop. You'll enjoy!
Although Emerald Hills is pricey, you get what you pay for. The staff is excellent; the course is in great shape. The pace of play is tolerable, circa four hours. They provide complimentary water. The staff is nice.
I played here for the first time today, November 2013. Fees were reasonable $50 & $50 for a cart (for two of us)!!! Great layout, FAST greens, nice fairways & tees. The staff did an outstanding job. I really enjoyed the entire experience. Some of the homes in the neighborhood looked a little rough ... but that didn't affect the course at all! I'd play here again in a minute.
I typically play here once or twice a month, Oct 16 and they are already raising the price, $79 today, should of asked before I paid. Was advised it will go up to $125 in November and even higher for December thru April. The course layout is nice and challenging but the fairways and greens are just ok. No cart service until 10 am so early birds like me get nothing. Once she did show on hole 9, never saw her again. I don't mind paying premium prices but the service and conditions need to improve.
Heard many good things about this course from golfing buddies, had to try it. Played this weekend (end of September, just before winter rates) and was very impressed. The layout is one of the most interesting and challenging I have played in the area. Lots of doglegs, well guarded greens with bunkers and water. Par 5's pose a real risk/reward for longer hitters. Par 3's were all challenging, especially with the windy day we had. Lots of water in play on many holes, and the ones without water had narrow fairways with OB coming in play on many holes. Lots of big/old annoying trees to block your path to the green if you miss the fairway, so a premium on hitting it straight and long.I believe there was a lot of rain over the past few days prior to playing so the fairways were a bit chewed up and the greens were soft and a lot slower than I expected. If I had to guess probably running about 8-9. Despite that, the course was in excellent condition overall. The practice facilities are average, small range and putting green. The staff was friendly, but on weekend's they give preference to the members so expect to start on the back nine and to receive a bit less attention by the staff. All carts had a handheld GPS bolted to the console giving accurate distance measurements. We didn't stick around to eat or drink at the clubhouse so cannot comment on that but seemed nice enough.Overall a great experience. Look forward to playing it again under dryer conditions and faster greens.
This has to be one of the toughest courses in Broward county by far, fast greens, long rough and long holes, not too many gimmes.
Played this course last week in the AM and we were able to play as a threesome in under 3 1/2 hours. Course in great condition and its base rate is similar to discount rates of other course that were not as nice. Would go back and would recommend to others. Played from the blues and the greens were running true and fast. Looking to go back.
