景点在在west lake区, 是一片红树林保护区,里面可以看到很多原生动物和植物。还可以在里面租一个皮划艇,在west lake 泛舟,可以看到更多的植物。值得一游。
Cool rainy weather finally hit us and gave us the excuse we were waiting for to tour Anne Kolb. Glad we did. Very interesting displays and we got there at about the time they were feeding the marine life. Young lady went over the habits of the fish and shellfish and let some youngsters hold them and explained how they took in their food. Many other interactive displays as well. After we spent a good deal of time listening we went out to explore on our own. They have several brochures and maps for self-guided tours with information. We were there for about 3-4 hours and would recommend you allow that if you want to cover most of the center. Especially good for children that have the curiosity which is so fun to watch...Take time from sunning and you won't be disappointed...and only costs a couple bucks.
Disappointed that they didn't rent kayaks daily as they had nice little waterways to explore. They do offer an inexpensive boat ride but couldn't get into the little waterways with that.
My wife and I rented a kayak at the park which is connected to the Kolb nature center. It was $30 for 4 hours. We paddled around the mangroves and got to see a number of different birds while kayaking. Well worth the money. On a side note, the local homeless transvestite/cross dresser was doing his/her laundry in the men's room and became hostile with another visitor. He/she didn't bother me and certainly his/her presence didn't phase the staff at the kayak rental. Just be aware if you are traveling with young children.
This is a very nice park close to the intercoastal waterway. There are several walks throughout and free parking. We plan to return and take the boat trip into the mangroves.
Lovely quiet park, nice place to visit, pleasant walking trails. Place is beautifully maintained. Nice gift shop, too.
If you love nature, love to see crabs crawling on the mangrove roots, butter flies of many colors, birds, this is the awesome place to visit.
This is a great little park with something for everyone. Nice nature center where you can learn about the eco system around you here in Florida. Nice tower for a good view (if they have reopened it yet, it was closed last time I was there). Signs for restrooms are a little unclear, but they are inside the nature center building. There is a rental place for canoes and kayaks and a launch. That's nice. Always see wildlife, raccoons, water fowl, crabs..... when you're on the trails near the water, take time to look around. There's always a lot of wildlife that is easily missed if you walk too fast. However, there is a huge problem since it's on the intracoastal with no see ums and mosquitoes, so watch your times and if you feel them (it's already too late) don't walk, RUN to your car! :)
Its a few dollars each to enter the building and look at the displays and watch a video. My kids liked the specimens on display in jars and being able to touch turtle shells. The outside paths are free and the staff was very polite and knowledgeable. The observation tower was closed unfortunately but we saw many crabs on our walk and a few puffin fish. We also saw several different birds in the trees and one in the mangroves stacking and eating crabs. If your quiet and look around you'll notice the wildlife. Very enjoyable place.
The observation tower was closed. Nice boardwalks but no wildlife when we were there. Lots of parking. Two-mile hike on site is not in the best of shapes, especially for everyday bikers.
We didn't get to see a lot of wildlife, but we did see a few tree crabs, and some ospreys with fish, and plenty of buzzards/turkey vultures? floating overhead. Not a ton else to see, the paths are dead ends, so you return the way you came. The observation tower was unfortunately closed when we were there. Enjoyed the museum and the 10 minute movie about the estuary and the Intracoastal. Nice place to take the kids for a picnic lunch.
Great place to go Kayaking and Canoeing if your tired of the Beach or if you need to relax on the Beach, send the Kids.
It is so nice to walk on the beautiful boardwalk paths through the subtropical vegetation. There isn't enough of that space left, which makes it extra special!
This is a nice little walk through a mangrove. There are tree crabs and if you are lucky you will see some of the racoons.
this is nice day to spend with nature. the center is clean, attractive, an interesting stop.best to go on a grey day or early. traffic is terrible going obver the bridge to get to it.
