florida agricultural museum

We almost missed the turn into the drive - the road in was bumpy. Thought the price was a little high for what you got. Our guide was fine, except he spent at least 20 minutes talking about the horses. The farm machinery outside was interesting. The Dairy Barn was hosting a private party so we couldn't go inside. We rode in what was similar to a golf cart since there were just 2 of us. We visited a house and store and building with a display of saddles. School groups in the area might find it interesting and a field trip, but as a tourist it just didn't have enough there of iterest. Had this not been near an area we planned to attend another activity, we wouldn't go out of our way to visit.

If history is your thing you will be in heaven here. The Agricultural Museum houses buildings from Florida's Pioneer's. There are farm animals like ducks, rabbits, goats, horses and pigs. The museum tour starts with a short walking tour of citrus workers quarters, and two barns. If you are adventurous, schedule a trail ride on some of the gentle and obedient horses that live on the farm. You can see the lush and beautiful landscape of Florida up close and personal. The wagon portion of the tour takes you to the Black Cowboy Museum where saddles from yesteryear are housed. There is a post office and general store that has many of the tools used on a farm. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and welcome questions. It is a perfect place to take the family and immerse yourselves in Florida's history.

Very nice park. It was pleasant walking around and visiting with the horses. Also would be a very nice place for a wedding! Not too much of a museum as there were maybe 2 exhibits outside but we went for the re-enactment and that was very cool to see!

3 generation visit (grandparents, parents and children 6 and 8 years old) went on the tour. We enjoyed learning about the animals, buildings and way of life 'back then.' The wagon trip around was fun and very informative!

this place is getting more and more to see from the historic buildings, animals , horseback rides, a trolley ride out into the expansive land and more is planned. It's time for you to visit

Great piece of history! I had a great time learning about some of Florida's history! I recommend coming here! Our tour guide was also great!

My son and his 3 kids went here with me. We all enjoyed it. The kids enjoyed all the animals. My son and I enjoyed the history of the home, and each stop . I enjoyed the old general store the most. On a side note;as part of this tour is on a trolley like vehical ,with a few stops where you get off to view site; I would say it would not be for those with mobility issues. We did not go horseback riding this trip, but plan to go back without the little ones for this.

I love historical sites and this one was really neat. Part of the tour is self-guided and part is a ride through. There were many historical buildings and things to look at. Very interesting stuff! The guide was very knowledgeable and told us lots about everything there. I loved the old farmhouses and the general store. Be sure to look for "Soy Sauce", a cat who walks the grounds and is very friendly, 'talkative', and very adorable. There are horses there and you can go horseback riding if you want, not sure what the fee is though. We saw "Sweet Pea" too, a wild boar, but the guide told us he was a friendly fellow since he was raised there from when he was a piglet. Tour admission is $9.00. They sell drinks inside the one building, water or soda $1.00 each. If you want to do more sightseeing after this attraction, the Princess Place Preserve is just down the road which is also very interesting to see.

i took my grandson for his first horseback ride, Jack was our guide, he was great,the trail ride was awesome and my grandson was hooked on horseback riding. This is a great spot for a trail ride, the horses are beautiful and well taken care of. Ask for Jack when you make your reservation you will be glad you did.

The Florida Agricultural Museum in Flagler County, Florida is a living history to the farming pioneers who braved the elements, wildlife, insects, disease and ravages of war and discontent, the Great Depression to prosper in the Florida Territory and later State. Drop back in time and experience what early day inhabitants would endure each day. The tour and events are enjoyed by all ages. The Roadster Car Club I am involved with enjoyed the setting and with many, the experience brought back memories of earlier years.

We have passed this museum often on our travels down Old Kings Road headed to Rt 95. One hot day in July we decided to make this our destination. We were not disappointed. This farm type museum is full of interesting things. There are several old buildings which have quite a history to them. After touring some barns and older buildings, we were taken on a tractor ride to a 'cracker' style home way out in the woods. The tour operator was quite knowledgeable about the family who had once lived in this house which made it very interesting. It is a farm so wear sneakers and bring water as it can be dusty and hot. We had our five year old granddaughter with us and she was more interested in the livestock than the actual tour. I would say this museum would be more attractive to children 10+ yrs old. We will definitely be back for future activities in the fall!

Really, how does Agriculture and Museum come together? Not well. We have been her a few time. Twice for events going on and once to just check it out. Events were ok. Venders were soso with always trying to sell something. We gave it a good try, but we won't be taking company here.

This museum has gone down considerably since I first went there. The animals are great, but their enclosures are old and filthy. That really makes the whole experience kind of sad. It would be so nice if they would tear down the animal enclosures, rabbits and chickens, build new ones that are clean and fresh looking. The store leaves much to be desired. There is VERY little in there to purchase. It would be nice to have souvenirs with the museum logo on them to take home as a memento.

Din't know this museum exists, but once inside love the history and the agricultural past of Florida..a place to visit when in town....

We joined the museum last month under the Ma & Pa category. Living in central Florida and working in this area since 1962 and interested in Florida History I finally stopped here to visit. Stopped by on Wednesday afternoon and we were lucky to encounter our Historical Interpreter Robert Garver. It was obvious that he was totally involved with the history of the area and this museum. While riding around on the golf cart to the different areas and as we stopped for each exhibit he went into detail on what we were seeing. Also we noticed while showing us the animals that he called to them with different voice tones to communicate with them and they responded .Owning a horse for twenty two years we understand the importance of voice tone to the animal. Murphy the donkey was a delight ( we purchase his photo refrigerator magnet ) Then Bully the cracker bull and Sweet Pea the boar entertaining us while Robert filled his mud hole with more water.This is a family museum that all kids need to see to understand that life was very simple and hard pre 1930's in Florida. Very low admission price for a memory maker. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and enjoy.
