As a south Florida resident, this is one of my favorite spots in the region. I am a member, visit many of its festivals (orchid show was this weekend) and bring any visiting family and friends. They are always impressed.Today, at the orchid show, also had a walk through the beautiful gardens and the current Dale Chihully exhibit --- in a word, "exceptional"

I spent almost 7 hours with a friend at Fairchild Gardens this week, enjoying the Gardens and the spectacular Chihuly Exhibit. Arriving mid-afternoon, we strolled the gardens for a couple of hours to get a "lay of the land" to determine which paths to take to view the exhibit after dark. By 4 pm we made our way to the tram stop to get tickets for a 5pm abbreviated tram ride (due to the Orchid Fair which was being set up for this weekend.) We then enjoyed lunch at the Garden cafe and walked through the butterfly house at dusk as the butterflies were flying frantically - almost kami-kazi-like before settling in for the night (according to the guide). Then the real show began as the Chihuly exhibit lights came on for a spectacular show. If you haven't gone yet, on Thursdays you can buy a special combined day/night pass. It is really worth it!

We drove 125 miles south from our home in Stuart, Florida to visit Fairchild Garden. Because we Has previously lived in Miami for thirty years, we have been to the garden many times. However, we hadn't been there in the past ten years since we moved away. It is even better than we remembered! We felt like we won a Trifecta today with the garden itself, the Chihuly installation, and the International Orchid Show. We bought an annual family pass that included an educators' 50% discount for a total of $72. For four people. Includes reciprocal admission to 300 other botanical gardens in N. America. What a bargain! We are going to Atlanta on Monday and plan to go to the Atlanta Botanical Garden with our new annual pass. Back to Fairchild. We lucked out with beautiful sunny, breezy weather. The vistas across the lakes are stunning; the conservatory is glorious, and we delighted in the Butterfly Garden, new in the past few years. We wandered all over, enjoying the expansive collection of palms in the property, Chihuly pieces interspersed and meshed into the landscape, one Chihuly as breathtaking as the next. All the volunteer guides were extra helpful and informative, and there were many tables set up with coolers of cold water. It was a perfect day, topped off with the purchase of a double spiked phalenopsis for only $10. Free parking. Excellent maps for both Fairchild and Chihuly. Highly recommend, especially if you can go on a day with lovely, clear weather.

Botanic gardens don't have their best face on in the winter and early spring. As a photographer, I may be more demanding than the average Joe, so I found a day visit to the garden to be a pleasant walk through the green. At night, the place is like a amusement park. Constantly assaulted by illuminated tableaux that have been hidden until one walked further down the path. The fact that the Gilhuly installation is still there just makes it even better!Note to photographers. For night work, bring your tripod and bracket your shots. Flash is not needed. Try getting down low and capturing some sky or tree line in your shots. You will be pleased with the results!

I took my mom there for Mother's Day last year. They have a beautiful butterfly encounter, cactus gardens, and a huge variety of flowers. I was very happy to see cacao fruits because I am Venezuelan and I've been in Cacao plantation as a kid in my country.

My husband and I were encouraged to visit this beautiful garden by a friend. We were happy we got there at 9:30 because the temperature began to climb quickly. Fairchild opens even earlier which might be a good idea as the year goes on. We took the tram ride and then walked back t o places we wanted to concentrate on. The signs were easy to read and informative. We did love the gardens, but for me, the most amazing place was the butterfly conservatory. We saw a greater variety than we have ever seen, just totally beautiful. Also, there is a great gift shop.

This is beautiful attraction for tropical plant lovers. I expected to spend an hour or two but spend about 4 as there were so many things to see with Chihuly glass strategically sprinkled throughout the gardens in a way which enhanced the gardens and the art. I debated if it would be better to view during the day or night when the glass is lighted. I opted for the day and am glad I did. If I had more time I might do both.I appreciated that the gardens had water stations frequently spaced in the grounds at information booths. It was cold and fresh plus I didn't have to haul it around. Thank you.

We tagged along with the grandchildren on one of those picture perfect days. We were not disappointed in the least. The marriage of exotic greenery and Chiuli glass art is one made in heaven. It's a wonderful place for young children to run around without worrying about traffic. Parents should still be vigilant as there are many places that they can find trouble. The glass art is placed in strategic locations around the lake adding to the already beautiful scenery.Well Worth the trip.

I first went here about 5 years ago. It was nice as the flowers were beginning to bloom. Fast forward to last week when I went with family to see the Chillily Festival. Admission is 25 per person. They now offer a tram service that takes you around the park if you have trouble walking. The blown glass is beautiful. This is the same artist that did the glass at the Bellagio in Vegas. Wish I could go at night as they are offering the ability to see the glass in the moonlight. To go throughout the park and see everything you need about 4 hours. Have Fun!

We have waned to go here for some time and finally got to go today. Lucky for us the Chihuly exhibit is there until the end of May. The exhibit only added to the beauty of the place. Wonderful narrated tram ride, lasting about a half an hour, would have enjoyed it more had it been longer, but a great overview with a wonderful docent. Had a nice lunch in a beautiful dining room in the butterfly house. Water fountains all over the property and ample restroom facilities. Also little trams all over the property picking up people that were feeling tired from the walking of the over 80 acre property! Well worth the admission fee of $25, $18 for seniors.

This was my first visit to the Garden. We went on a Sunday afternoon so it was a little crowded. However, once we got into the garden the crowds seemed to disappear. We walked through the garden to see the Chihuly Glass displays. The glass pieces were amazing, especially the pieces that were integrated into the garden beds. We had lunch at the cafe near the butterfly enclosure. The food was casual, good and reasonably priced. After lunch we walked through the butterfly enclosure. The butterflies are beautiful and it's fun to watch them fly around and play. There's lots of benches to sit, rest and enjoy the views. The next time I visit I plan to focus more on the actual gardens, the glass was the main focus on this visit.
