We stopped by the museum for the second time, this time bringing my 84-year-old mother. This is a great stop to learn a bit a history of the 11 lost Spanish ships carrying oodles of treasure back to the motherland. The ships never made it. Learn the story, see artifacts, view the shoreline of the survivors' camp all the while being glad we live in the 21st century with air conditioning and bug spray! The park rangers are a wealth of knowledge. You can visit the entire grounds in about an hour. Well worth the $2/ea admittance.

The coast around our Vero Beach resort has quite a history as far a ship wrecks and treasure are concerned. We found the McLarty Treasure Museum to be an amazing find. Seniors admission is a mere $2.00! There are many artifacts, a forty-five min. video and an observation deck where one of the Rangers gave us additional insight concerning the treasure hunters.

There is a 45-minute film that is very informative about the history of treasure on the "Treasure Coast" Aside from that there are many artifacts on display, many in "talking" exhibits which explain more. There is a walkway tot he beach with a lookout (great photo spot). $2 for adults, free for children 6 and under.

Great place to bring visitors or guests. Love to visit over and over. Great history of treasure ships that sunk in 1715. Volunteers are nice and you can't beat the $2.00 fee to get in. Never get tired of going there. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

A very nice museum filled with artifacts and treasures found from the 1715 sinking of 11 Spanish ships. Informative staff and 20 minute video describing the historical events that led to the naming of the area of "The Treasure Coast". $3 admission fee was very reasonable. A museum to be enjoyed by the whole family.

This museum has some interesting finds from the ocean. A short movie tells the local story of shipwrecks and treasures, both lost and found.

Neat little museum but needs a little tender loving care. Really enjoyed the informational museum film. This museum is a part of the state park system. Interesting story about the shipwrecks of 1715. I think the story will be enjoyed by all ages to include children. Interesting portion on how pirates came to be. Lots of artifacts. Artifacts are today still being found on the beach and in the water in this area. The last noted treasure found was in July 2014. Makes you want to go out and purchase a metal detector. Go and enjoy.

Nice relics from galleon fleet(s) that sank off Vero a few hundred years ago. A good place to understand what sunken treasure really looks like.

A nice little museum.Nothing fancy ,but a museum with good information about the 1715 Spanish ship disaster and the reason this area is referred to asthe Treasure Coast.

What a deal! Rather small exhibit area but the movie describing the sequence of events leading to the Spanish fleet shipwreck and the 1960's salvage was wonderful. Now I know why it's called the "Treasure Coast"

We were so lucky to come at the beginning of the movie (45 min) inside the museum (anyway it runs non-stop). The movie tells you all the story of the Treasure Coast and also explains what you gonna see in this museum. After the movie it was much more interesting to look at the showpieces in the museum. Don't forget to get outside and make a picture on the deck of a pirate ship)

We went here during our week long stay at Melbourne Beach. Small place with extremely helpful employees and full of surprises. I had no idea that a whole fleet of treasure ships had gone down in one storm off this coast. They had a good movie and lots of displays. After seeing this museum my daughter got up early every morning and went down the beach with a metal detector---no luck but it left an impression on her. If you're in the area it's worth seeing and the cost is reasonable.

Gave a lot of information about the 1715 fleet that sunk just of shore by the museum... There were a total of 13 ship.

This was a most enjoyable stop and would be for anyone with an interest in antiquities related to seafaring or history of the Colonies in general.
