Today visit was just one big disappointment. Tickets are 18$ per adult and villa and garden are in such state that you want to cry. Building urgently needs renovation. It falls apart. It smells with mold and you definitely don't want to spend their much time. Garden is a disaster, fountains are mainly empty and dirty or with smelly dirty water. Channels for boats around villa are destroyed. It was probably very beautiful garden but now there are no flowers and hedges are not trimmed properly. Each room smells with dust. Any European place would be ashamed to present something like that to public. Do not recommend this villa for visiting until full renovation is done.

It's plenty interesting and beautiful. There times you need to take your wife and or girlfriend. At least, my wife thought it so cool. The mansion takes you back in time. You can spend 3 to 5 hours doing this. It's worth. I think it's free!

Viscaya is one of those amazing places that we have all seen in films and tv shows but never knew. Once I you've visited you will forever recognize it due to it's unique setting and architecture. The gardens are beautiful, the house is grand.

Not sure you'd enjoy it during the hot, muggy weather but during the perfection that is Miami from around October-May, you should give it a try. Reminds you of the mansions in Newport, RI only with more interesting grounds. The cafe is a nice touch as well.

This is a must-see for any visit to the Miami area. Great story of the man who created it (James Deering of International Harvester), beautiful, though somewhat enigmatic house, but it's the exterior that steals the show. As a landscape architect, this may seem expected, but the south side garden with mounds, north side swimming pool and constructed ship out in the bay are remarkable. I think of this as Miami's Biltmore, Huntington Gardens, or Hearst Castle., though not on such a grand scale.

The setting alone is worth the drive from anywhere to see this architectural masterpiece. The setting along the water is breathtaking.

A must see when visiting Miami. An amazing villa on the water. Beautiful interior and exterior. Lots of photo opportunities. Beautiful gardens. Lots of walking though. $18 for adults.

We really enjoyed our visit here. It was a beautiful home with a very interesting history and unique details. The grounds are stunning. Definitely worth a few hours.

This grand old house was built by industrialist James Deering between 1914 - 1916. It is worth visiting to see how the wealthy lived in the early 1900's. As will this place is a fine example of proving that just because someone has money doesn't mean they have good taste! The house is ornate and the rooms vary in design from Rocco to English Neo Classical. Ceilings were brought in from Europe, local Florida limestone used on the exterior patios, a Venetian boat created from limestone and dock decorates the waterfront portion of the property. This place is a hodge podge of design and nothing really goes together but it is very interesting to tour the property. The grounds are beautiful and there were several photo shoots taking place the day we visited. You can join a guided tour (worthwhile) or rent an audio guide.
