Always try to get here when I'm in Vermont. It's a warm and eclectic venue, hosted with a very personal touch. You feel like you're spending an evening amongst friends and the artists obviously feel the same, which makes for a wonderful ambiance and the best of interactive performances. The relaxed, understated but contentious attention of the hosts make you feel like a special member of the family.Last went to hear Sarah Blackman, glimpses of Joni Mitchell but has a strong voice of her own. She was amazing, lovely voice, lovely personality, really engaged us in a wonderful performance. And those legs, ............ (Sorry Sarah ;)
If you ever visit Brandon, Vermont or are within 50 miles of this beautiful Vermont town, you must visit Brandon Music! It is owned by Stephen and Edna Sutton. They also own Compass Music and Arts Center in Brandon. Compass should also a "must" on your list to visit!
My husband and I stumbled across a brochure about this place at the Vermont Welcome Center the night before and decided to give it a try. The outside is deceiving. On a gray dreary day, we ventured in and the upstairs level is full of windows, light and warmth. Edna was wonderful and we really enjoyed our visit. We opted for the "cream" tea which consisted of a pot of tea (each) and scones that were out of this world. They were topped with preserves and cream and were just absolutely fantastic. They have quite an extensive menu all very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back with next time I'm in Vermont.
Nice place, music artists are wanderfull and afternoon tea are very nice.and the special occasion are also very nice. The second floor stairs are not to good for some people
A wonderful place to visit and listen to amazing music while you are enjoying either a super lunch or a variety of tea and deserts in the tea room. Edna has added a variety of English items on her varied excellent lunch menu.
Brandon Music -- a tea room, a jazz club, a museum and a gift shop, is not so terribly out of the way that you shouldn't make the effort to visit. The room's acoustics are exceptional for live jazz -- the setting is unique and extremely comfortable. Their food menu impressive -- and the quality the is absolutely first-rate (as is the service). They serve Betty's Teas from London, which are delicious. I loved the museum of phonographs (which was in the process of being upgraded and relocated when I visited). They offer an impressive selection of classical and jazz CDs for purchase. Don't overlook visiting this amazing spot in Brandon, Vermont.
Beautiful music, lovely atmosphere and excellent service. The only place to hear beautiful music without travelling to NY.
It's a tea room and performance space owned by some Brits who run a music importing business. They offer both classical performances and Sunday afternoon jazz concerts.
As others have mentioned, this is a little "find". Off the main streets of Brandon, this tea room/gallery/music emporium can be found off route 73 en route to lake Dunmore. The sweets are incredible. The room for tea is relaxing and airy. The same room is used for intimate musical events ranging from jazz to classical with lots of different genres in between. Stephen and Edna are a charming, extremely hard working couple who are helping to make Brandon a destination for artists of all sorts. And they are doing it one concert, CD, and scone at a time. ( Ladies, send your golf guys over to the golf course right across the street while you enjoy tea!)
My wife Karen and I was staying in the Lake George area and decided to take a day trip over to Vermont. We had taken interest in Brandon Vermont given that this is our son's name. We found travel information about Brandon Music. Our son is an accomplished musician and is studying to become a professional conductor. Naturally we had interest to investigate Brandon Music. Wow, what a find! We were cordially welcomed to their special tea room and music shop. Tea and dessert was worth the trip alone. We bought a number of CDs, tea pots and other things. Steven (owner) was so welcoming and Pat (hostess) were so accommodating and interesting. We would suggest that you put Brandon Music on your agenda of places to visit next time you are in the area. Thank you!!! Michael & Karen
What a gem of a find! We went on a Girlfriends Getaway Weekend and I happen to mention to our host Judy at the Inn on Park Street how much we enjoyed English Tea. She told me about a couple who had opened a Music Cafe which served lunch and tea just a miledown the road. What a gem of a find! Edna our hostess was beyond gracious even sharing her recipe for clotted cream with me. The "Cream Tea" scones with clotted cream and preserves were fabulous. The chocolate cake was sublime. We stayed well past closingand Edna and her husband were so relaxed and charming to be with. Definitely gets ten stars. Make the trip its worth it. The main business is Jazz Music, they even did the music for William and Kate's Wedding. This is the real thing folks!
