We had several locals recommend this spot and being that it was Friday night, they were full. We found a place at the bar and shared a braised chicken dish. It was fresh, local, delicious and fit perfectly with the season! Loved it! It was pricey but had large portions

They are only open for dinner. I really wanted to try lunch but had to go for dinner. It is always pretty crowded, which can only mean on thing, Good! Not a disappointment. Although you don't need to dress up for the Restaurant, most people do. Casual but dressy. It is located on Main Street near the Information Center and across from the Green Mountain Inn.

Superb inventive menu, super knowledgeable friendly staff and outstanding wine and spirits list. It's tiny cellar-like atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Due to good ratings we expected a better experience. The food was pretty good but we were upset with the service. The hostess wasn't welcoming and smiling, she found a quiet place as we requested but it seemed like were annoying her. As for the waitress, she was fair, no more... The worse was the hostess, snubbing us when we left...We are used with a better American standard for the service. We wanted our Vermont gateway to be special and that's the kind of experience we would have preferred not to live in that context.

We made reservations three days before we went to this restaurant. The chicken with the apples was the best meal that I have had with chicken. My daughter got the steak. I liked mine a lot. It is located in the cellar but don't let this stop you from going. The service was a bit slow but the meals were fabulous. It was reasonable as well. The presentation of the meals was perfect. Enjoy the meal..

What more could you want than a nice bar (where you can chat with locals and visitors), great food (from the best ever artichoke dip to fresh salads to my favorite cider chicken), and a superb bartender with an interesting beer & wine selection... That's all I need for a great Friday night!

A local family-owned “sure-bet”, Harrison's can be found smack in the center of town, tucked in behind the TD Bank and next door to someone's Aunt Betsy (somewhat creepily, the restaurant's entrance looks on to a cemetery). Once you get over the fact that you're about to dine in a basement (never my first choice), this Stowe favourite has a distinctly neighbourhood feel, with decent food, rustic decor and friendly, knowledgeable staff. All in all I enjoyed our experience, although I would not recommend the beet “salad” which turned out to be iceburg lettuce with some kind of beet/goat’s cheese jello on the side. Our dinner was very good and service was excellent. The restaurant is small and hot. The price of entrees was expensive and not expecting so many families with young children which made it very loud. I wouldn't go back during vacation because for the price and the noise factor I would like to try another restaurant.

We found out about Harrison's on our last night of our Stowe trip. We got their early but the restaurant was already full, luckily they offered us a seat at the bar where we were able to order our food. I ordered the special of the day and my wife ordered a fish dish from the regular dinner menu. The food was absolutely superb and the great family service was spot on. They even provided the sauce recipe when we were commenting on how great the ribs tasted. Needless to say, we had a great experience and would recommend anyone in the area to try them out. Make sure you get a reservation to ensure you get a table!

Dining at Harrison's was the highlight of our Columbus Day weekend! We spent most of the day in rainy weather trying to enjoy the foliage & the outdoor arts & crafts festival. Even though the weather was a downer, Harrison's was not. I ordered the duck breast & it was amazing! Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals in this quaint little eatery. Harrison's is not easy to find. It's tucked downstairs & in the back of a building on Main St. But if you can find it, you'll definitely be rewarded!

Great atmosphere and food was excellent. If you are in Stowe, this place is worth taking the time to visit.

It's not haute cuisine, but it's always yummy. At first glance, Harrison's menu is standard American dining fare, but each time I've been there (3x), they always seem to have something on their special menu that's appealing. Once it was simple - baked haddock that was moist, tender and flavorful - another time a bit more exotic - duck breast w/ peach cranberry sauce. I've forgotten the third entree I tried. I like a cocktail before a meal and they don't water it down. I don't need a big cocktail, but I like to taste a little alcohol. Portions are generous, tables are comfortable. The space is not very big, but I've never felt I'm in my neighbor's lap as I have in other small venues. If you try the roasted beet napoleon, then order a light entree - it's delicious, but filling. Their coconut curry carrot soup was also scrumptious. Prices are fair.

As we entered Harrison's, we were surprised to see that we were the only patrons. We opted to take two seats at the bar. There was a fair selection of local beers on draft and a large selection of local wine. We started with the Asaigo Cheese Fries. They were crisp and flavorful. We also tried the Roasted Red Pepper and Basil soup. The soup was creamy and full of flavor. For our main entrees, we had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Mixed Grill Special. The mac & cheese was loaded with pieces of lobster meat. The Mixed Grill had a perfectly cooked filet with a superb grilled blueberry vension sausage. As we finished our meal, the place filled in. Most families had made reservations. All and all - great service, great food, and good times. The next time we are in Stowe, we will visit this hidden gem again.

It was very small and quaint - the food was great and reasonably priced.
