This place is ideal if you love riding horses and you love sight seeing. You have many options when it comes to riding. You havd numerous time lengths and trails to choose. Some trails are recommended for riders with a lot of experience, but they are great if you get a chance to ride them. The horses are beautiful and the staff have an excellent amount of knowledge. The only complaint I have is that the trail riding lady acted as if I had no idea what I was doing even though I have been riding for 10 years. Other than that, this place is wonderful.

One of the first stables that I have been to in years that give you some options of when, where and how you want to ride. We opted for a 1 hour ride, but since we had a little more experience riding were permitted to trot and canter a few times on the trails. We also opted to groom our horses. Pretty place and a nice time.

I came back to Blue Moon Acres to try out the day ride. It was fabulous! Rode out at about 10:30 and got back around 6:30. Nice fast canters, slow steep downhills, tight spaces, lots of laughing, and a ladybug swarm made for lots of fun. The scenery was incredible and the horses wonderful. Cowboy was an awesome equine partner with the smoothest trot and canter. We even came to a pretty good understanding about standing still while I leaned back on his butt to get sky shots Now to see if I can walk on Monday. This was more than a public trail ride, this was a trail riding experience for anyone who loves horses and loves to ride! Can't wait to come back again!

My Husband and I were recently staying in Hocking Hills and opted to go horse back riding. Neither of us had been on a horse in many years. Becky did an excellent job of educating us on all of her horses. She is very personable and thorough. We both had a wonderful ride and can't wait to go back again! I highly recommend!

You will get a personal ride experience here. The horses are all horses, they each have their own personality and are an absolute blast to get to know. The groups are small, no more than 6 or so from what I could gather, so it is a very personal experience. They are just getting their new location set up to their liking, so don't expect that same arrival experience as you would expect from a larger stable; but this is their strength . . . they love their horses, and their horses are their number 1 priority which makes the experience top notch. Check them out, you won't be disappointed you did!Things to take with you (they have horn bags to keep your goodies):- Bug Spray- Glasses- Sturdy shoes- Long pants- Take a jacket, depending on your ride time, the woods get cool quick in the evening- Camera- Bottle of waterWe loved these guys and are looking forward to going back and taking family with us so they can enjoy the experience as well!

While celebrating our 20th anniversary we wanted to do something unique during our stay (besides hiking in Hocking Hills). While reviewing riding stables online I came across Blue Moon Acres. I liked the fact that they only take out small groups and have a smaller number of horses available. This means that each horse gets more individual attention and care than a stable with 20+ horses. What really hooked me is the fact that they have horses for larger people. Neither of us has been on a horse for almost 20 years and during that time we have gained a lot of weight! We played phone tag for a few days (mostly because of my schedule). In talking to Becky, I could tell she really cares and wanted to make sure she picked the right horses for us. My husband rode Stroker, the Percheron, and I rode Mysti’k, a draft mix. They were perfect choices! Stroker calm and smart (great for a beginner) and Mysti’k was spunky but did everything I asked of her (I am an advanced rider). It was drizzling that morning so we wore rain ponchos and took the 2 hour ride. I was just as good as going on a clear day. The trails are not just on level ground as some trail rides are. We saw a lot of interesting rock formations and parts of the trail were muddy and slippery which made the ride even better! The horses are the healthiest, best groomed riding horses I have ever seen at trail ride stable. I felt the price for a 2-hour ride was more than fair due to our experience. I highly recommend this place.Pros: Great horses, great experience, personalized trail ride.Cons: Not for large groups, young kids who are novice riders

We are first time riders and had an incredible time. Becky and her husband Robert were wonderful, knowledgeable and great hosts. As well as her horses, beautiful and well mannered. I can't wait to come and ride again through the forests of Hocking Hills Ohio. Next time would like to do the three or four hour ride. Thanks for such a personalized and memorable experience.

My two friends and I had the pleasure of riding at Blue Moon Acres. Becky and Robert are very friendly, experienced, safety conscious and thorough about matching you with just the right horse for a GREAT Horseback Riding outing. We rode for a solid two hours through beautiful forests and streams and all the horses bahaved very well and had very good trail and rider manners. I strongly urge you to consider Blue Moon Acres for your next riding experience.

We have ridden with Rebecca several times, and will not ride at any other stable. It's like you are out riding with a friend, not like you are riding a brainless "follow the tail in front of you" horse. Becky is knowledgable and patient, and her horses are up for whatever you are interested in. Want to walk? Fine. Thinking about trying to learn to trot? Let's go. Check them out, you absolutely will have never had a better riding experience at any "for rent" stable.

I had a great time riding at Blue Moon Acres in the fall of 2012. The horses were well behaved but forward. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We had nice walks up and down some challenging hills along with trots and canters along flatter parts of the ride. The scenery was amazing, as the hocking hills always is. What better way to see it than on horseback. This ride is definitely worth doing if you are an advanced rider and has horses and challenges for all levels :) I can't wait to get back!

All three of us were novice riders. We had one nervous rider that the staff were VERY kind and accommodating. You could really tell they wanted everyone to have a good experience and learn to love horses. Our nervous rider went from very nervous to petting horses and actually riding the horse for 2 hours! It was a blast that we all got to learn how to ride and feel comfortable on the horses. They also took pictures for us! Good ones too!The horses were very well loved and cared for. The owners passion for horses was pronounced and catching. We all went away loving the horses and would be excited to make it back one day. Thanks for the fantastic memories.

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience at Blue Moon Acres! It was his first time ever riding and he was a bit nervous going into it. The calm, laid back teaching provided helped him feel comfortable and confident by the end of the ride. The learning environment was great -- it was positive and challenging. I have been riding a few different times and still enjoyed the ride. It definitely isn't just a "walk in a line, plodding along" kind of ride. It can be customized to fit the group riding and the trail itself provides exciting bits and calm bits along the way. A great experience at a great price! If we ever return to Ohio, we'd definitely go back!

We really loved horsebacking riding here. It was just me and my partner on the ride, and we got to get the horses up to a trot. It wasn't like many horseback riding places where the horses just seem to go along automatically. I felt like I really learned something. Nice people, too!
