My husband surprised me for our anniversary with two glass flowers from the Glass Forge. He said that the people there were so nice and helpful. And the prices were great too!
A must-stop for locals and tourists alike! You won't be disappointed ! Talented small group of craftsmen that create blown glass from simple ornaments to intricate shapes and designs. Check out the glass sculptures ! Each piece is unique in it's own design.
First glassblower's studio we ever visited - can't imagine one better. Just love the creations. Wish we had an extra day to learn to blow something ourselves, but we did buy a beautiful tabletop 'bonsai' tree sculpture, chosen by the wife. The husband was absolutely fascinated to watch in the actual workshop.
We were a large party of teens, kids and adults. For $20 each we all selected and made either an ornament or paperweight chosen from a range of pre-mixed glass colors. The guys helping us were fun and made the entire experience a really pleasant break from road tripping up the I5. The ornaments needed 15hrs to cool so they ship them back to you. A really nice memento and pleasant surprise to find them upon our return. The gallery had some beautiful items in it. We did pre-organize the stop. Really recomend. Great value and enjoyed by all.
This is a beautiful showroom/ factory. The artist are very creative. I bought a piece and was able to meet the artist.
Most of there stuff was pretty but expensive. We have been to alot of glass shops and this one is pretty good for being in such a small town. The staff wasnt very friendly but wasnt rude either. All and all it was an average store.
Came in there while passing by Grant's Pass. What a gem! My 4 year old got absolutely fascinated with a process of glass making, since he was allowed to come upclose and follow the guy closely, who was making glass pumpkins. They are extremely kids friendly. Very genium people who love their trade and proud of their work. You can buy all kids of stuff at their shop or you can order something and it will be tailored to your needs.
The Glass Forge is an amazing place. It's clear these folks know their trade and do it well. They have an amazing variety of objects from glasses to (some huge) bowls to amazing artistic creations you just want to state at. If you don't see what you want, talk to them - chances are they can do it! I love just walking through the store and seeing what they have. I love some of the pieces where they've collaborated with other artists, as well, to create amazing, unique pieces.Good art is not cheap - but their pieces are well in line with what we've paid elsewhere.Amazing. I'm blown away! I'll be back again and again.
We visited The Glass Forge last week to fill in some time of our day and the visit became the main attraction for our day! We all made floats and had such a great time that we came back after lunch and made custom wine glasses. The guys were extremly knowledgeable and super patient in explaining the process. They clearly love their craft and it shows in their work with the public and in the beautiful pieces for sale. My parents live in Grants Pass and I will be back the next time I'm in town.
Visiting The Glass Forge is truly a wonderful experience! Their beautiful art and friendly staff will make your day!
Our family of four visited the Glass Forge recently during our visit to Grants Pass. We all decided to create our own ornament. With a lot of help from the experts, we had a great time learning how to blow glass. The guys took time to explain the process and helped us make ornaments that we would be proud to display. They even etched our names into our finished products. Great bang for the buck!
We stopped by The Glass Forge and were blown away by all the beautiful pieces available. The owners were very kind and spent lots of time explaining the process and we thoroughly enjoyed watching them work. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone visiting the area. These guys were above average!
My son and I decided to make our own glass project. It was a really great experience!! The process was just beautiful to be a part of, and Dennis was so kind and patient with us. The gallery itself is just wonderful as well. I would recommend this as a definite stop if you are in the area. And if you have the time, make your own piece. Just be sure to call ahead. So, so worth it!!!
We had a great time at The Glass Forge actually visiting 2 separate afternoons. Our first day in one of the partners, Lee, graciously chatted with us about glass blowing, the business and more for a good 40 minutes. We learned a lot about the history of this particular group of glass artists, the studio itself, watched pumpkins being made by Erik and enjoyed ogling the wide variety of fantastic completed pieces in their store. You're allowed in the back work area as long as you remain outside the yellow line on the floor and can get a great up close and personal view of the work being done and the pieces made. Got questions? ASK! These guys are wonderful about sharing their knowledge. Made plans to go back a second day knowing we could make a piece ourselves since we already had plans for that first afternoon. Our second day we met Nathan, another of the partners, who gave us some great info on what our options were in terms of making an item. The offer choices of colors, sizes and types of items as well as the option to simply blow to make a piece or actually do the multitasking involved in creation (blowing while rolling, adding color, using the blocks and jacks to shape the piece, adding the 'hook' or base to make an ornament or float). I opted to make a float in "Moon River" as my color and Nathan set about first walking me through the steps of the process, then adding in a bit of practice with the tools and finally helping me complete those steps to make my float. What a cool way to spend a couple of hours. Cost for this process was $75 and I felt it was well worth it for the experience of something I've been wanting to do since my teens. The "puffer" experience (just doing the blowing while the artist does the rest of the work on the glass piece) looks like an excellent experience for kids and they happily do that here as well.Call in advance to discuss reserving a time/day since they sometimes work with groups or get particularly busy. Visit on First Friday each month if you can't get there during the daytime - they're open until 9pm that night. Great folks, great art, great time!
We went there because you can blow your own glass. However, they do not offer this on the weekends and you have to call ahead to arrange. We are looking forward to our next trip so that we can experience this art form and cross off the 'bucket list'. There work, is beautiful and definitely worth the look (and buy) even if you do not want to blow your own glass.
