We didn't plan on this stop along the Fruit Loop, but the weather was crappy and we weren't going to be able to see Mt. Hood anyway, so WTH, right? So glad we stopped. The tasting house was beautiful and spacious, featuring a cozy fireplace seating area, and we ended up shipping a dozen bottles, we loved the wines so much. There were three servers (what do you call these peeps? - I'm a tasting n00b) who were attentive and informative. the flight of 5 was only $5 and the appetizer plate was also $5 and just right. They also sell jet packs to protect carry-home bottles on the plane or car. They're missing a great opportunity by not having a bigger gift shop, if you ask me. They had a few things, though!
The inside was nice with large windows with views of Mt Hood, vineyards, and orchards. There was a large fireplace which would be nice when the weather cools down and there was a large terrace outside with plenty of seating where people were enjoying the sun and scenery with glasses of wine. The fee to taste wine was $5 for 5 tastings or you could order a glass of wine if you didn't want to do a tasting. Our favirite was the pear wine which was very dry and enjoyable. Far too often fruit wines are sweet and cloying. The service was good, people were friendly, and the experience was enjoyable.
Winery has great location overlooking Mt Hood. You can look out the large show room windows at Mt Hood or sit outside and enjoy the view. Wines are great to taste, many to choose from.Customer service was great - explained the wines, the winery operation, very friendly. Bought only one wine due to short stay in Portland.
They hosted our tour group of 42 with no difficulty. We particularly enjoyed the Rhone style wines. Our favorite was the blended Summit which was moderately priced. They catered a very nice buffet lunch for our group. It consisted of sandwiches, fresh fruit and salads.
The view was great, able to see Mt. Hood from the outdoor patio although was a little hazy when we were there. The staff was friendly and informative during our tasting. The only thing at fault was there were no standout wines and most I didn't care for.
